I makes me a stronger martial artist.
Its fun to be able to have control of your body.
The respect that people give you for your dedication and hard work is rewarding.
It's good thinking time to sort stuff out in your head every day.

I love lifting just for the challenge of it, also for the women and i'd like to compete someday, oh ya can't forgot the respect, it's nice getting instant respect just from how big you are, lol.

I lift because it's the only thing that doesn't overtax my mental capabilities. Well I did try the hip adductor machine once and ended up in the hospital.

So I can fight better. Being heavier and stronger help alot in a fight.

Professional fighting?

I was speaking of street fight type scenarios where there are no rules and you come up against multiple attackers allot of times.

Some day I when I get about as big as I want I may train in martial arts or boxing and then compete in mma matches. But those of course would have weight classes.

I would train in running because bigger doesn't help in multiple attacks and most street fights now end up with someone being beat with an object or shot.

:goodpost:

The chance of someone fighting a fair fight is very rare in today world. A guy once told me, he wouldn't even try to fight me because I'm a big guy but he told me if I walk up on him...he will shoot me. {True story}

^very true. Once had a gang of at least 7 dudes try and f me up. I won't lie I ran my a$$ off. But another time two guys tried jakkin me and I stompped them down. But you guys are exactly right street fights are never fair, I have NEVER had one guy come up to me and start sh**. The odds are always against you. Thats why I have no problem doing roids. Back in hs I was a very decent wrestler so getting into some type of MMA does appeal to me.

Clears my head, sense of euphoria, challenging myself to see how far I can push my body/strength, anger issues dealt with best through lifting, healthy lifestyle, fighting (MMA training), & upping my personal stock. I loved my ex's reaction, along with everyone elses, when my body first started changing from lifting. Everyone else was complementing me on my new aesthetic improvements while she said, "I liked you better skinny." Shows her level of insecurity. She felt that with all this new found attention, I would leave. You should see her face every time she's seen me during breaks when we're both home. Every time we've broken up, I've hit the gym harder & harder & when she sees me, boom, the "I feel so stupid" face. That & after many years of not being able to, I can finally kick my dad's ass if he gets fresh lol.

I lift weights because if I didn't, I'd be lazy. I'd just sit around and drink, if I did go out, it'd be to party. And with all that complacency comes the eating... Oh the eating! lol I would eat pretty much whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted and I'll say this... I have more than a healthy appetite. I also lift weights because I enjoy the routine. It brings me peace to know that I have to eat a certain way, at a certain time, and then go to the gym by a certain time, and lift a certain way. The routine is what drives me to push on. If I ever feel the need to fall off, I just remember that I can't because I have to be at the gym before 6. There's no alternatives in my mind. That helps me tremendously in life. It keeps me focused. It keeps me driven. I also lift weights for the looks that I get. Sometimes they get old, but most times they're still a boost. People look at you and you know that they're thinking, "Jesus Christ." or, "I wanna look like that guy." Yeah, that does it for me. lol Let's see, I also lift weights for competition. I'll be heading to Mr. Tennesse to place top 5 next year (heh, mark my words here), and I'm gonna need the weights to make that happen.

Yeah, I'm probably a little vain with the whole thing. But, I think that's healthy. If you shrug off your accomplishments due to fear of seeming shallow to others... Well, what are they worth? Enjoy your commitment. Be "proud" of it. If you're spending the majority of your evenings in the gym killing yourself while your buddies are out at the bar, or sittin' on the couch... Well, by golly you should have bragging rights. Piss on 'em if they think you're being egotistical. You've earned it.

Well, I could write more, but I think that'll suffice. That's just a subject that's close to my heart. lol

I lift so I could be a member of this site.
I lift cuz I wanted more action from the wife.
I lift cuz I heard chicks dig it and the wife thing isn't happening.
I lift cuz I'm frustrated as hell and have no other outlet - hands are all callused and I'm running out of socks.
I lift cuz I'm hoping chicks dig it.
Did I mention I lift cuz I am hoping chicks dig it.

Heh, don't worry man. As long as chicks don't know that you spend the majority of your life underneath thousands of pounds at the gym everyday... they dig it.

1] so I can eat what ever I want--the more muscle more calories burned 2]reduce stress -keeps temper in check 3]job performance 4]I think it has to do with --endorphins--similar to heroin addiction

I lift cause its my job and there's just not a better feeling than being able to make a living doing something you absolutely love
