Well gang, probably no surprise to most of you, but the wife pulled it off! A true ATWR in the Circus DB Press, for Masters Lightweight Women (40+ age, under 73kg/160lb bodyweight). They weighed the dbs in front of the crowd on a calibrated scale on the main arena stage as she called each attempt.
130lbs in a plate-loaded db!

She also set the shot-filled Slater DB record to 118lbs. They let her attempt to break both records, so with up to 3 attempts each she was able to leverage that to make more smaller jumps back and forth. She opened up
with 114 on the Beast Metals plate-loaded db, then 118 on the Slater (which is harder due to the shifting shot or sand you add to load it). She then did 125 for a new WR on the plate-loaded style before attempting 124 on the Slater, which was a miss. That failed attempt jacked her shoulder up decently, but with the crowd waiting anxiously & one attempt still left on the Beast Metal, it was time to cook! Nobody wants the show to end on a miss, plus we didn’t fly all that way not to try. So she called for 130, which is a weight she has never done on the plate-loaded style actually (making it a PR as well as a WR). This went up smoothly & the crowd went wild!
It was a great afternoon and people at the festival really enjoyed the spectacle - definitely a blast & something she will always be proud of.
