Hyde’s Strength Odyssey

The gym looks and sounds awesome. Yeah I can see your vascularity, and your abs. Even after dropping the weight, you didn’t lose any muscle, you still look thick.💪
Hope the wife hits her lift and breaks the world record.🏆

this is sick

You're looking great too, congrats on the leanness, you have really worked with discipline to get there, its been an impressive ride watching you go from 270 (ish??) to where you are today and maintain so much of that strength. the back is what pops out to me the most, always awesome when you can see the wings popping out from a FRONT shot.

Wife is going to try to set a new circus db world record for lightweight Masters women at Hungtington Beach tomorrow

AWESOME 🔥 🔥 🔥

Looking great, I hope wifey killed it!!!! Enjoy your time out there!

Well gang, probably no surprise to most of you, but the wife pulled it off! A true ATWR in the Circus DB Press, for Masters Lightweight Women (40+ age, under 73kg/160lb bodyweight). They weighed the dbs in front of the crowd on a calibrated scale on the main arena stage as she called each attempt.

130lbs in a plate-loaded db!

She also set the shot-filled Slater DB record to 118lbs. They let her attempt to break both records, so with up to 3 attempts each she was able to leverage that to make more smaller jumps back and forth. She opened up
with 114 on the Beast Metals plate-loaded db, then 118 on the Slater (which is harder due to the shifting shot or sand you add to load it). She then did 125 for a new WR on the plate-loaded style before attempting 124 on the Slater, which was a miss. That failed attempt jacked her shoulder up decently, but with the crowd waiting anxiously & one attempt still left on the Beast Metal, it was time to cook! Nobody wants the show to end on a miss, plus we didn’t fly all that way not to try. So she called for 130, which is a weight she has never done on the plate-loaded style actually (making it a PR as well as a WR). This went up smoothly & the crowd went wild!

It was a great afternoon and people at the festival really enjoyed the spectacle - definitely a blast & something she will always be proud of.

Man that is so awesome…..she is a beast, and that is such an impressive lift. 💪😎🏆

That is so awesome, and she has been working for this world record for a while now. So proud for her and you! I hope the shoulder recovered nicely and she isn't too sore from the effort.

Thank you guys! No real issues with the shoulder I believe, just overworked it some trying to keep it from drifting out of place at extension. She went to the gym this morning and seems to be moving and sleeping normally.

Pretty tired yesterday after a 14 hour travel day on Tuesday, but with 8 days since last pull and 10 on squats I wanted to get some powerlifting work in, which went well as I was systematically recovered (besides being exhausted). Bar was moving well and all my joints feel good. Bench tomorrow, then I’ll get some lower body volume in on Sunday.

Still wrapping my head around this, its just crazy awesome. and what a rad location with that view. What phenomenal results for all her hard work!!

you must have been going a bit nutty 10 days out from your last squat session lol.

It was very cool; wish I’d taken some pics without my family in them so you could see how pretty the beach and area is there at the pier at Huntington Beach. The Wodapalooza is just a MASSIVE production with the number of delivery trucks, forklifts, crews, power tools, crates, wagons, side-by-sides, fencing, bleachers & banners etc to make it all happen.

Honestly 10 days I am particularly strong and well-prepared to squat hard again. I learned that in 5th Set, that I generally get stronger on 8-10 day micros. So I wasn’t worried, or surprised when despite my fatigue from low sleep & travel I found myself having to resist taking a single at 500, or going higher on deadlift. It can feel like so much time has passed though at times!
