New Yukon bar is badass for pressing!!! Absolutely loved using it. Big stretch on pecs from extra ROM while feeling very safe, and haven’t been able to overhead press in a long time due to elbow mobility - I was able to get the bar below my chin with no pain, and pressing with it felt so perfectly natural.

Weights were flying today - feeling way stronger!

Was in air conditioning at the commercial gym and still absolutely soaked through my shirt and underwear: it’s officially summer here & the humidity gets serious. Highs in the 90s all week means 100+ indexes daily and hot even in the mornings, so I’ll be doing as much as I can in the commercial gym for a bit.

Man look at those Deadlift numbers……looks like your back. 💪 Killing it
Yeah it seems to be hot everywhere. We are in the high 90s, and a buddy of mine in Arizona says their already seeing 100+. You don’t need cardio in that heat, it burns the calories right off.

Man I need to find somewhere to use one of those bars and see how it treats me.

I don't like the heat! Fat Men Don't Do Well In Heat !!

Look at that bicep

Also dig how I clamped the inside of the barbell sleeves to clear the platform with the weights for the deficit.

Yeah that bad boy is HUGE!!!! Are those moccasins? I dig em! That over under made it easy eh!

Hyde you are an animal !!

You know once you are fat, that is the way you picture your self forever (At least I do)

But Thank you all for your kind words, they do motivate me !!

Glad the Yukon bar is a great addition.

Fell back asleep after my alarm for 40 extra minutes accidentally, but still knocked this one out in 75 minutes. Pretty happy with it.

Sometimes the body just needs a little extra sleep !

I forgot to mention, my spotter actually touched the bar and I thought he was helping, but I slowly ground it to lockout. Afterwards he told me he thought one side had faltered, but he didn’t end up actually needing to assist.

It was honestly the perfect max effort strain - so heavy I thought I was done for, but actually muscled it out solo. A true RPE10!

Those are fun!

This was a good one! My conditioning and overall volume definitely seems to be improving since I’ve moved to this conjugate style of training. I noticed I was well-conditioned for the meet, both recovery between attempts as well as for lasting the whole day (even while sick).

Yet another PR. Consistency just keeps paying off.

I’ve taken higher doses of fish oil supplements for probably a decade straight. In the recent 6 months, I switched to an expensive pure EPA formulation. Upon reading more literature, I’m just not sure the dollars really make sense in my case. This supplement might not even be contributing to my health in a relevant fashion.

Having finished my reserves, I’ve dropped it out of the regiment. Will be interesting to see bloodwork over the next 6-12 months, if I can see any negative correlation during cruise phases in triglycerides, glucose/HbA1C, or anything else.

Also dropped Spirulina. I did see a direct decrease in LDL with it, but considering Ezetimibe works much better and is radically cheaper, I am going to forgo it for now.

Trying to decrease/streamline my daily supplement regiment a bit where possible. It’s always a fluctuating process, but everything should have a very good reason for taking up my time and money.

It is very hard to weight the usefulness of many supplements, so weeding out some of them is a hard decision.

Hope everyone had a great Father’s Day; I sure did! Had some fun playing with my boy in the sun while Momma trained strongman, had some excellent training in the garage after (it was beautiful out, strict press is going great, & lots of quality work was done), did some shooting with my wife & father in law, and had a terrific family meal - much dessert was consumed!

Looking mighty swole…..and putting up some serious press numbers.
My wife and I went to one of our sons, cooked out steaks, and played with our grandsons. Couldn’t have asked for a better Father’s Day.

I’m incredibly biased towards Hyde and DP but you’re looking round and ready to pound. Delts be popping like bubble wrap!

Looking thick, solid, and tight!

That's some good work put in man. I want to eventually get a buffalo style bar and more than likely I'll go with the new Rogue CB-4 buffalo bar.

Yes, all my extensions except JMs start and finish behind my head to keep tension on the tricep. I do a pullover off the floor behind me on the first one, and after that the upper arm stays pretty strict with these.

Yeah man the pump blend and the delt work really combo’d for some obvious temporary size - felt like a house when I came in from training.

That’s a fantastic looking bar.

It became out of stock, but I was considering it. Then I realized my garage is a pretty harsh environment, and I’m the only one using this basically, I realized I couldn’t justify the 150%+ price difference.

Stayed up too late with the wife Friday and Saturday and just dug myself a recovery hole accidentally from the lack of sleep; when I got up at 4:30 today I couldn’t believe how sore and exhausted I still was - no way I was going to safely pick up a 1/4 ton at that time, so I rested instead & knocked out what I had time/energy for in the sweltering garage today on my lunch hour.

Happy with how the conventional felt; 495 did seem to be the ~85% intensity I was targeting.

Good work given the lack of sleep.

It's understandable with the price difference when you look at the Yukon bar vs the Rogue CB-4. It sold out pretty damn fast. I don't even know if I need a Buffalo bar seeing as I have an American Cambered Bar and a Transformer bar lol.
