HMB?

Have any of you seen any measurable results from consistent use of HMB? I understand what HMB is suppossed to do, I just have no way to measure its results I guess. Just putting feelers out to see if it should remain a staple supp.
Thanks

Yeah, no way to measure without a parallel universe.

It enables me to hit body parts twice a week with decent load. Nothing else has worked to that end. Take BCAA for instance, they may completely eliminate DOMS but they don't make it possible to train same group in 4 days and get stronger, for me personally anyway. Now if I trained body parts once a week I would have never noticed a thing from HMB.

This is a perfect explanation.
This is exactly what HMB FA did for me :)

From my understanding, if you are cutting/recomping and in a caloric deficit, HMB would provide the most benefit as it is more anti-catabolic thus allowing you to train harder and or more frequently. However, if you are in a gaining phase where you are getting plenty of calories and protein, you may not benefit much. Bulk HMB-CA is cheap though ($50 or less for a one year supply) and you could always try it both ways to see for yourself.

I have used HMB with great success. It helps me to train frequently. As I was advised here on AM before, HMB is beneficial for overreaching workouts. The more frequently one trains, then HMB works and with my first hand experience, it is effective.

I disagree. If training is intense enough causing the individual feeling ran down/taxing the CNS, HMB can still help by a large margin in the recovery department, whether caloric intake is high or not.

And from a recent study, HMB may not be best on a cut.

I do agree with you. Overreaching can be done with or without caloric surplus so HMB/HMB FA will still help

I've done cuts with it and without it, and with HMB my cuts are better. Noticeably. I load HMB for at minimum a month before the cut and continue throughout (obviously)

HMB takes months to actually elevate blood plasma levels. So ideally you run it starting during a muscle building phase and continue throughout a cut

Screw it....it has been a while. Let's do some Strafe logs and you tell me what not only Leucine and HMB do, but the other metabolites in there as well.

22 servings per jar, so I'll donate 2 jars to 3 people who want to try and slightly overtrain at 6 days a week.

I tried HMB-Fa (Muscletech) for 3 months with a 6 workout a week routine where I hit all body parts twice. I felt my recovery was better and I could always put in the work needed.

Then I ran out and decided to try another Hmb-Fa product available to me from a Finnish supplement company. When opening it the first thing that struck me was that it wasn't liquid in the capsules but powder. And to my knowledge it only comes in liquid? Danes is on it and trying to figure this out. But after a couple of days on this brand my recovery took a serious hit. So after trying it for two weeks I jumped back on the Muscletech product.

Strafe sound interesting dsade I'll definitely read up on that.

Some companies would even sell sand to own mother just for money

I currently work out 5-6 days a week and I would love to log Strafe! Evomuse doesn't disappoint and this is one product I have yet to try!

I don't recall all the details, but I seem to recall that you don't *have to* over-reach to see benefit from HMB-Ca. Suppversity has all the latest studies from the past 2-3 years... I think there were 4, with 2 being over-reach, and 2 being "normal" training - but I'd (you'd) have to go read each one again. I take it daily because it's cheap. As far as the study showing "not good during a cut" - Adel mentioned that IIRC - and it was the combination of poor "cutting practices" along with the HMB that were the problem, not HMB itself - I know SUPER low calories was one of the factors.

This product was an absolute nightmare to flavor, and I'm still blown away by how "good" it turned out .

All of the ingredients, with the exception of HICA, are vomit inducing when taken alone so cut me some slack.

I'll start an application thread on my forum.
