Cardio bunny...

Cardio bunny...

Yep! Lol...she has seen way more progress since I got her into lifting than she has in years of all the racing she's done! She's lost 25lbs so far!! :) Slowly she is discovering her strength and realizing the benefits of weights even if she think I'm crazy! Haha

Has anyone ever tried Karbolyn or something similar? A friend of mine owns a Nutrishop and gave me a sample. Said it would make a world of a difference especially for my leg day!

Is the main ingredient waxy maize starch?
No but here's the label from the sample. It doesn't lay it out very well! Lol

Well it seems similar to WMS, with some other little goodies. I haven't used WMS in a few years but remember decent recovery on it. Just give it a go and tell us whether you like it or not :)

Ok will do! I freaked out over the 200 calories though!! I don't have room in my diet to take out 200 calories! Lol Thank you for your help!

Unless you do specific carb timing plan, I wouldn't bother with it. For those that do Intermittent Fasting or Carb Backloading, though, it's great stuff.

That's kinda what I figured! I haven't done IF or anything like that in a while. Thank you!

You're welcome. Insulin is such a complicated hormone that it's really difficult to discuss the wide ranging implications of controlling/manipulating it for a certain purpose.

I agree! Very hard! :) I think he was just trying to help me since I have such a hard time with energy due to my dumb thyroid issues! Lol

Overall lethargy or trouble mobilizing fat?

Well, I have trouble with both but primarily the lethargy! Fat has been moving a little lately since I switched up nutrition some more!

I'm not ultra well versed in thyroid pathology unfortunately. Depending on your overall plan, there may be a way to switch your macros towards more favorable times.

Yeah switching them has helped some! I might try adding a little carbs before training! Currently, I only have 1/2 a protein shake. I'm not sure how much more improvement I will get since they won't treat it! Thank you for your help though! It means a lot! :)

I'm a big believer of using carbs only post training and using fats and protein to fuel the body. The exact amount of carbs needed post-training will vary immensely from person to person and day to day.

An intra like glycofuse helps a lot. Just make sure if fits in your macros! I have gotten incredible results with intras in the past 6-9 months. Made more gains than I have in years with intra workout carbs and bcaas.

Is your tsh normal? Are you on levo?

No, my thyroid is under active. I have an auto immune disease called hashimotos which basically means I produce antibodies that try to destroy my thyroid. It causes nodules and inflammation in my thyroid. The drs all just want to wait until my thyroid is completely non functioning before they treat it.

Yeah many ppl with ht are hyperthyroid before becoming hypo, did you get that? How high is your tsh? I tend to replace thyroid hormones in hashimoto pts who are hypo, and most ppl I know do, but I know some drs don't. I tend to recommend thyroidectomy for hashimotos bc of the high risk of cancer.

Are you a dr? My tsh is currently bouncing all over the place as far as symptoms go. I haven't had my tsh tested in a while- got tired of the drs crap- no offense if you are one! It's been as low as 1.5 and high as 7.
Wow! That's a crazy article! The dr has done a biopsy on one of the nodules due to the size and look of it. I have considered just getting it removed! I have pain in my neck- that they say is fibromyalgia, trouble swallowing and several other symptoms.

Yes.

It's sometimes hard to take out thyroids in HT bc the inflammation makes them stick to everything around them.

Wow! Good to know! You seem like you're very knowledgable! I wish I could find a good dr! Just tired of trying! Figured nutrition and training along with Gods hand are my best bet! Thank you for your help!

I'm going with inflammation via pH level imbalance and potentially a small food allergy.

I have considered food allergy due to the way my body reacts to certain foods- especially oats but never been tested! Never thought about ph!

Oats are highly acidic to the kidneys. This could be playing a role. Invalid Link Removed

Wow! I'll have to read that more thoroughly! Looks really good! I completely cut oats of any kind out about 2 months ago but may be some other alterations to consider! Thank you!!

Most likely it's related to thyroid. Correcting your thyroid function may help.
I sure hope I can correct it soon!! Would be nice to feel good again! :)

It won't hurt to try dietary changes. Some ppl do find gluten or dairy free diets help.

It's hard because there's very little $ in primary care.

I haven't tried dairy free yet but I know the gluten free has helped!

Sadly, yes, especially now! Thank you again for your help! I really appreciate it!

I've eliminated gluten from my diet and feel a lot better. Remember that gluten= BROW = Barley, Rye, Oats and Wheat. Nice job in here BTW!

Good to hear it's helped you too!! Thank you so much! :)

Leg Day! Tried the Karbolyn sample just to see how my body reacted- figured today would be the best to try since I usually burn 1200+ calories on leg day! (Burned 1327) woohoo!! Let me tell you- I will NOT be taking it again! I felt fine on lunges and the first set of squats but once I got the real weight on the bar I got extremely light headed. Actually had to sit down several times throughout my workout, which I NEVER do, because I felt like I was going to black out! I went lighter especially on squats because of it all! Ugh! I told my friend and he appreciated the feedback! I'm not sure if it spiked my blood sugar or what! I've had issues in the past with blood sugar especially when I was prego! Plus diabetes runs in the family! Gave it my very best though and pushed through despite the girls trying to convince me to just stop! (Not happening!! Lol)

Warmup
Walking DB lunges 12.5x24

BB Squat 95x12
135x12
155x4- stopped due to the dizziness -dropped the weight and went again.
Tried with 10lb plates under heels
95x12x3 --really liked the way that hit my legs with the plates under my heels

SLDLs 105x12 135x12 145x12 155x10 165x10

BB Split squat 75x12 95x12 115x12

Circuit: 30lb DB Single SLDLs 12x3
Hip thrusts
110x12
150x10
170x8

Jump squats onto step with 4 risers (with abduction) x10 --added a riser today--ouch!!! :D

Calf extensions (total of 45 plates)
4 plates X 30
5 plates X 25
6 plates X 20

Leg press: x2 Tried a new approach to leg press- nice BURN!! 5 regular pace, 5 super super slow(10-15 seconds to push up) and 5 regular pace

Burn out
Seated leg curls 70x12, 85x10, 95x8
Leg extension 70x12, 85x10, 100x8, 110x8

Abductor 170x25x2, 180x25

LISS cardio on arc trainer 35 mins

I'm feeling a lot better-not quite as light headed! I hope a protein shake will help balance things back out!

High blood sugar won't make you dizzy or lightheaded, maybe a lil lethargic.

Dizziness/lightheadedness is more a symptom of hypoglycemia.

Wow what a session you had! Impressive volume and numbers....

Thank you very much! Want to do more so bad!!! Hard to be patient! Lol

Sorry that's what I meant...that it spiked and then fell ...I knew it wasn't high. It's a totally different feeling when it's high.

Ahh wonderful yard work! I forget how much "fun" push mowing is! Lol Covered in dirt and sweat! Shower then house cleaning time!! This counts as cardio right?! ;)

Well you don't look dirty or sweaty! Probably too easy for you since you're in such good shape :)

Very sexy.

I've never mowed a lawn, I don't know how to work the oven, never taken out the trash, never turned on the dishwasher, and I don't even know how to use my air conditioner. Haha, I'll just be arm candy or a trophy wife.

Aww thank you! You're sweet! It wasn't hard just a lot of dirt! Lol
