Here's to my first log

Good gracious! I dunno about lifting but if you're ready for a third child lemme know ;) lol. Great work!

Well, thank you very much! Lol

My pleasure lady! Do me a favor and make sure you keep the progress photos up to date yeah??

Lol you're funny! Will do!

Oh, as suspected, my lower body is getting more and more sore every moment! They should feel great tomorrow! Leg day on Friday will be a fabulous adventure too!! ;P

Awesome chest/tri WO! I love it that you aren't scared to pick up heavy weight!

Oh how I love and hate my foam roller!! It hurts so good! There is not an inch of my body that doesn't hurt! Lol Gotta love that feeling!!

Very sexy, Kat!

Kat,

Supersets seem pretty time efficient but do you think it's affecting your ability to lift heavy weight?

Kat,

I superset and it doesn't bother me.

You've compared it to not supersetting for heavy weight?

Yes, and I feel like I'm the same or even stronger when I superset. If I'm going heavy on my main lifts, I avoid super setting just so I can exert most of my energy on it.

Yeah supersetting doesn't make sense when you're lifting 90+%.

I think supersetting is counterproductive at anything more than 80% of training weight. You should probably be lifting 8 or more reps before you'll get a positive benefit out of it.

That seems like a good plan. I've been really into drop sets and rest pause of late, and doing only one set per exercise.

The chest n back is intense for me.. My back being my strong point n chest , well , my pec still let's me know it's not 100%, lol.... ( 7 months later..)...So it's kind of a battle...( but there's no way I'm losing it..) Good thing in figure I don't need a big chest.. More about the v shape, lol...
:)

Curious about the tempo for the drop sets....

Kat, Supersets seem pretty time efficient but do you think it's affecting your ability to lift heavy weight?

I missed all of the fun convo last night! Lol...I have done them several different ways including antagonist, which I really like!. If I superset the same muscle group or put a too high of intensity exercise between, such as burpees, I definitely notice a loss in strength. There are reasons behind each approach but I don't feel that the way I am currently supersetting causes much loss in strength. I can't stand to rest between sets, not only is it boring as crap to me, I don't have near enough time. I only have 30-40 mins to squeeze as much into weight training as possible so that I can get my cardio in each day.

I usually pair a push with a pull and do either a superset or alternating sets. Superset I don't rest between exercises but alternating I will take a 1 minute rest before switching. I use this method for my heavy work, that way I will get about a 2 minute rest for one body part while still training another one.
I also have a love/hate relationship with my foam roller. I want to eventually get a rumble roller to really help get into my back.

Yeah I really like push and pulls set together as well! Oh wow! That sucker is going to hurt even more! Lol I'm sure it will get nice and deep too!

Now that's a shoulder burning workout!

Thank you!!! They were definitely on fire! You always get a total different burn with the smaller muscle groups! Want to add in more exercises and they say "No" lol

Rumble roller is pretty awesome. I have the firmer one.

Lil bodybuilder in your future maybe? Nice wo kat!

I hope so! At least an active and healthy lifter! Lol Thank you! Second one for the day! I'm sure I'll sleep good tonight! Lol

Great job, Kat!!!!! Always killing it!

That's awesome!!!! It's such a great thing when people think you're younger!!

Killin it as always, Kat!

I agree here. With the exception of going for 1RM's, I feel way stronger on SS.

I can see that for arms or small muscle groups. I'll superset even heavy weight on them.

I would argue there's no way that's true for heavy weight (> 80%). on big antagonist lifts like bench press and deadlift or squat.

If I rep out a set of 400 lb bench press the last thing I could possibly imagine doing is following that up by squatting lol
