Headaches, Noticeable Lethargy That's it so far on Powerfull

I am not a newbie to the supplement/bodybuilding world having been involved in the sport since 1993, competed the last five years, and currently write articles for mindandmuscle.net.I began taking powerfull 3 days ago and don't expect to see the tangible results in terms of libido, fat loss, strength, lean mass for several weeks possibly a month or more.

However, I have definitely noticed excessive lethargy after my dosing as well as a lingering headache that lasts throughout the day. I suppose it helps me sleep better, but I never wake up feeling rested or "refreshed" as some have indicated.

I should call it being sleepy rather than lethargic as after the first two days of taking it before my workouts and feeling like the incline bench looked like a good serta matress I deferred to taking it just before bed. Again, though it just makes me more sleepy and yes I dream a bit more vividly but I don't feel like I get any better R.E.M sleep as I've simply been sleepy throughout the days since.

Nicotine, Cocaine, Caffeine, Phenylethylamine - All of these influence dopamine in someway and all of them are typically stimulating. So I'm not sure why Powerfull would make one so sleepy if it is acting on dopamine receptors.

Curious to hear from those others who Have experienced these side effects as I really am considering returning it as feeling sleepy with a big headache all day - with no noticeable increase in libido(the only thing I would have expected to notice possibly after 3-4 days of use) this product might not be for me...
 
A lot of reporters note that they feel lethargic when they begin taking Powerful because they are unaware of the side of the increase in GH being released (not saying you don't but thats likely the culprit of your lethargy.) I have noticed some effects like that when dosing P-Ful pre workout but have noted very positive effects when taking it with a preworkout stim like caffeine or a solid creatine like Ragnarok to combat the lethargy from the GH release.

As for the headache I personally never noted any. How are you dosing it and have you used L-Dopa in the past?

As far as sleep I completely felt the added benefits of REM sleep, but I did have problems with staying asleep once I woke up. As soon as I hit 8 hours I was up or if I took more than 1 cap before bed I would be up in about 4 with no chance of getting back to sleep.

Maybe try lowering the dosage then working your way up. I know sometimes l-dopa can give me headaches but when i build up the dosage on my 1-carboxy i can tend to prevent this. As time continues you should also get past the tired feeling as well.
 
I really only like taking it pre fasted cardio, preworkouts, and presleep :) taking it another time during the day leaves me sleepy.
 
I began taking it per the directions 2-3 pre workout and 2-3 before sleep. Since I've ceased the pre-workout intake completely I just took 5 before bed on a stomach with whey protein 30-45 minutes b4( I usually workout b4 bed) and then some protein pancakes(yum!) concoction of whey, egg beaters, flax seed meal, cinnamon, some chopped up protein bars and/or natural pb, + splenda). Just wake up tired as hell with excessive interaction with the snooze bar.

I should note I began taking mass-fx the day before. However, I would think this would only act to enhance libido,,,more free t ---nothing yet(no decrease though).

Have not taken l-dopa yet. But have consistently taken - and had a prescription for - l-deprenyl - often combined w/ PEA(if you're curious if this is addictive check out my article on PEA on mANDm). I take neither now. I did, though, initially take the powerfull with 25 mgs of geranamine, 0-25 mgs ephedrine, 0-200 mgs caffeine when I dosed the 2 times pre-workout, still I felt like i was yawning about to go to sleepy land during my workout. This is obviously not condusive to squats with 405 and incline db presses w/ 130s...and it wasn't!

I'll stick w/ the Powerfull for now but strictly b4 bed. I can't afford to be dosing off and sleepy for my job or my workouts. This stuff better be worth the hassle!

According to USP from a diff thread:
Powerfull increases HGH release and does not induce sleep.
By significantly increasing HGH you need an adaptation period of 5-7 days. this is user specific, some will not need it.
Same has been reported with synthetic HGH use.

Personally, I have been ramping it up thru the week. After Sat and Sun off of it, if I take more then 2 pwo I will have a headache by mid evening. So i start monday with 1 first thing am, 1 pwo, 1 before bed
tues: 1 am, 2 pwo, 1 bf bed
Wed: 3 pwo, 2 bf bed for rest of week.
Doin it like this has kept me from being lethargic and getting headaches.

For a seasoned vet one would expect a longer trail period than 3 days before labeling a supplement as "not for me".

If 3 days is the magic number, the industry is dead.

Carbohydrates will kill the HGH release.

Start with 2 before bed. 5 capsules is absolute over kill and dopamine OD and will absolutely disturb sleep patterns especially 3 days in.
 
Agreed man divy (sp?) up your dosages so its more spread out through the day. Just try 2-1-1 to access tolerance levels and adjust from there (2 could be before bed if you really don't want the effects during a workout, then bump up to 5 if you feel good.) If I were taking 5 before bed my sleep would be sh*t as well as the next morning. Find your sweet spot of dosing and see how your body reacts.

Again I appreciate the certain supplements exert ergogenic benefits over time. My point in regards to the 3 days is simply that I only started experiencing these side effects DURING THE LAST 3 days immediately upon starting powerfull. And, if indeed they do continue like this then "yes, in fact this product is not for me" -b/c whatever benefits I might derive from this product are not as important would not offset the current side effects that Powerfull is seemingly accountable for.

If it increases my mass a couple of pounds, I drop some adipose tissue etc. - it still wouldn't be worth it as not being tired and not having headaches all day are a much greater priority in my life.

I only did the 5 before bed once. The other 3 days I've done just 3 - still the same issues.

I think I'm going to employ what some of you have suggested and go
morning: 1
pre-workout: 1-2
bedtime: 1-2

This is the 6th day after 5 days of use, so I might take the 2 days off.

Again, I appreciate you all taking the time to offer suggestions.

I was lethargic when I first started taking it but that went away shortly and building into the dose seems to help. On the preworkout dose I like to have around 150mg+ of caffeine preworkout and this counteracts the lethargy during the workout.

The way you’re taking it before bed I don’t believe your going to receive much of the benefits of the product.

As far as the headaches go I can’t help you as I’ve never experienced that.

Just noticed the MASS FX post. MASS FX made me tired as hell the first week I was on it. I mean seriously. I asked around and a few other people had seemed to notice it too. I was on a carb restrictive diet and the only thing I noticed from Mass FX was the fact that I didn't feel like crap while incredibly carb depleted. Just saying - could be something worth looking into. BTW - Powerfull has never before made me sleepy. Hope that helps!
 
I was tired as shi t the first week cycle, with a headache behind my left eye like every other day during that first week. They went away for me like the 2nd week so try that out. It has been close to my second month on and halfway threw my second bottle and everything is pretty good. So far I think Ive gained just a touch of strength and mass, no noticeable fatloss though?
