Hair Loss Prevention

Wait a second............ it all makes sense now! The Biblical story of Samson has NO GIRL in it! In fact, "Delilah" was merely a slang word for Tren back in those days, and God was trying to teach us the 11th Commandment: Thou Shalt Not Cycle without Proper PCT/Support Supplements!

Delilah came and took his hair... and after centuries of science, we now have Nizoral, Spiro, Rogaine, Need 2 Shampoo, and Propecia etc, HAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Okay, I definitely just laughed really hard at this. Reps.

And Makaveli - I didn't know you were rockin the ponytail! I'm not sure we can be friends anymore...

LOL, it's more.....john travolta in pulp fiction..ish.

Hmmm...well whenever I let mine grow out, it's very reminiscent of Samuel L. Jackson's. So perhaps this friendship will workout.

But you better not blow anyone's brains out in my car, because I will NOT be cleaning it up!

Also, cost is very low, 30 bucks for 2 months worth.

From personal experience. I used to use nizoral (mild hair loss from sebum build-up and also used for the anti-androgen effects on the scalp) and it worked alright. Dried my hair out though and I didn't like the idea of ANY of the nizoral going systemic.

I've been using toco-8 for... what... 3 months in a row now? And 2 months previous to that. I'll be using as a stable from now on. I no longer have any dandruff or sebum buildup and my hair loss is non-existant. No itchy scalp, etc.

It doesn't just stop at hair loss prevention. Here's a sweet ergo-log article on Vitamin E protecting the testes from damage during cycles: (Invalid Link Removed)

And some info from the website...

The specific ratio of vitamin E's in Toco-8 offer the following unique benefits -
  • Clinically proven to prevent hair loss and increase the number of hairs by an average of 42% (1)
  • Proven to help reduce cholesterol while improving the HDL : LDL ratio (2-5)
  • Maintains healthy artery function by reducing atherosclerotic plaque (6-8)
  • Helps support testosterone production by maintaining optimum pituitary & testicular function (9-11)

I believe Toco-8 is literally THE best supplement we sell as a company... not sustain alpha, andromass, endoamp, etc.... it's all about Toco-8.

No prob Outstanding. I wouldn't mind trying out the N2 shampoo but I don't have the dime to do so. I've heard caffeine works well in shampoo, though, for hair regrowth.

for my own curiosity. Can anyone shed more light on the theory of washing with hot water accelerating MPB?

Load of crap.

Everyone in my family has THIN hair... half of there hair is missing.. Im 28 and have THICK as hair.. I wonder if Ive lost any.. maybe .02mm from the front.. I take LONG boiling HOT showers.....and it hasnt done anything.. I also use CLAY everyDAY and WASH my hair EVERYDAY.. sometimes TWICE..

So that throws out half of those theories.

I think your body will do what it wants, you can just try aid it in prolonging it. :)

P.S. Hope its not true haha

exactly, it is genetic condition. all the current remedies will only slow it down.

[I posted a new thread about this issue, but also wanted the guys that are subscribed to this thread to be updated on the 'Nizoral situation']
Hope this helps!

Hey guys, I got a PM on here and another private bodybuilding board for anti hair loss shampoo advice – because there seems to be a country-wide shortage on Nizoral shampoo.
So I wanted to pass it along to you, maybe it will help some guys out.

Many of you guys may be familiar with Nizoral shampoo for combating pattern hair loss or androgen-related accelerated hair loss. It contains the anti-dandruff ingredient, ketoconazole.
Ketoconazole has anti-androgen potential is the one single shampoo ingredient that has clinically proven to combat hair loss.

Apparently, over the past 6 weeks, a lot of guys have reported that Nizoral is either out-of-stock or unavailable at stores all around the country.
Oddly, on Amazon.com the price of Nizoral has soared to $33.95 and even $59.95 at a certain vendor for a 7 oz. bottle. It’s usually about $12 in local grocery or drug stores.

A forum poster on the Hair Transplant Network gave McNeil Consumer Healthcare a call and reported that the shampoo has not been discontinued and McNeil (a subsidy of Johnson&Johnson, I believe) is aware of the mass-shortage.
The McNeil representative didn’t really comment much further according to the forum poster.

So unfortunately, it may be a while before we see Nizoral on the shelves again.

I used Nizoral for 6 years and found it pretty effective at controlling androgen-related hair loss. I since moved on shampoos that contain ketoconazole but are also kinder to the scalp because they are anti hair loss shampoos, not a high powerful dermatitis shampoo like Nizoral.

If you use Nizoral, don’t worry - there’s other stuff out there, better stuff in my opinion.

These are my two recommendations (they both contain ketoconazole) if you are looking for a good hair loss prevention shampoo. The reviews on Amazon.com are good. You might be familiar with them:

Both of these shampoos smell super good and are way easier on your scalp and Nizoral, which tends to give a lot of guys dry scalp.

Is there anything to the old stuff I've read on here about Ketoconazole shampoo and/or cream having any effect on libido loss or other hormonal effects? I use both cream, shampoo (not for hairloss reasons), and finpecia (cheap propecia)

Not from Ketoconazole, definitely not in my experience

Very interesting, CEDeoudes. It certainly is a night and day difference in appearance.

The "Invalid Link Removed" pictures continued....

That's a bunch of choices for these fibers out there. I always suggest that guys start off with Invalid Link Removed, (Invalid Link Removed) it's a bit more expensive [and better quality] than the Toppik "clones". There's small learning curve to learning how to apply them and spread them out, after you've 'mastered' it (it will literally take you 60 seconds to really fill out your hair), I say check out the slightly cheaper, slightly less quality other hair fiber products like Invalid Link Removed or Invalid Link Removed, which is the best of the clones in my opinion. (actually the folks on amazon.com only rate it 3 stars)

If your losing hair or notice thinning I guarantee there is nothing otc that's stronger then HR3 Matrix KIT or Shampoo and Tonic. Proven hair loss prevention and results within a month. I use the shampoo daily and tonic twice a day. Hope this helps

WHOA... these are all new to me, ahhh, where to start? I am a hair loss OCD purist, haha. How could I not have known? Can these, any/all, be incorporated with N2-Shampoo, Nizoral 2%, Spironolactone 5%, Rogaine 5%? That is my current protocol to keep my mane. I'm really looking for two primary factors: Regrow crown area, and thicken overall appearance.

not many people know about this one. I didn't for the longest time.

I recommend you start with Invalid Link Removed (check the user reviews @ amazon)... its the highest quality one
There's two others that are less expensive, less good quality... but certainly do the job those would be: Invalid Link Removed (check the user reviews) and Hair So Real (no user reviews - but I vouch for it!!).

Here's my little website where I review/recommend products that I have tried over 9 years: Invalid Link Removed
hope that helps... I DO NOT WORK FOR ANY OF THESE COMPANIES :)

Website is very informative, did you notice any effects on strength or body composition on the fin when you were not using gear? Also did you ever get a shed from fin?

Thanks so much, always a pleasure to have my eyes opened to something new I have never heard of before. So you're saying absolutely stick with the highest quality of these three 'clone' products, which is without a doubt Toppik? I'm sure it's just a couple dollars difference, no big deal.

Any other hidden gems to combat hair loss you'd highly recommend above and beyond Toppik and the Minoxidil, Spironolactone 5% cream, N2-Shampoo, and Nizoral 2% I'm already on?

I'm going to check out your website...

Very nice, I see you are knowledgeable on the reasons of hair loss. I try to recommend seeing a Doctor at least once to get proper diagnoses as some reasons can be from lack of vitamins, fungi infection or hormonal. It's not always the big bad DHT all man are scared of nowadays but rather a multitude of things that can have you looking much older then you are by having sever MPHL (Male Pattern Hair Loss.) To note N2-Shampoo from what I have heard works great at blocking DHT in the scalp, I have not looked into the ingredients as well as since they are a sponsor I cannot comment further on that. The others you listed are for fungi, hormonal and brand name Minoxidil. With these you are going at your hair loss from a multitude of angles and your regimen seems very well balanced to help your problem.

How long have you been on this stack? Have you ever used N2-Shampoo alone for a reasonable time frame? I will disclose why I asked later

First our Hair Regrowth line has ingredients that act similar Propecia (Finasteride), Rogain (Minoxidil) and Retina-A. We have tested these ingredients through clinical trials and found a significant regrowth. I will say different stages will require the full kit for full head regrowth while the beginning stages do well to recover from our shampoo and tonic. PM me your e mail address and I can send you further information regarding clinical trials, ingredients and procedures.

The full kit with solution contains Growth Factor's IGF and KGF, Two types of Peptides Angio-S and Copper Peptide and other proven ingredients for hair regrowth. Any that or interested in trying please PM your E mail address.

yup, Toppik is the best. I use that and Hair So Real (bought in bulk on Ebay)
my hair is jet black, which seems to be pretty consistent with the hair fiber colors on these 2 brands.
nanogen is decent too.

Oh FYI - I transfer my HairSoReal into another bottle (I use an old Organin bottle, organin is another clone). the HairSoReal is packed super tight - which is good, you get your money's worth - but its hard to shake them

I've heard about the copper peptide, thanks for taking the time to write all of that. I am extremely interested and believe I already sent you me address, not sure if I included email though, I will go double check.

I have been on N2-Shampoo since it came out, probably 8 weeks ago now, I can't imagine it being any longer than 3 months for sure, so 12 weeks at the absolute most I'd say. Now as far as the others, I only introduced Spironolactone in the regimen about six months ago along with the Nizoral 2%. The Rogaine 5% is the only product I have been on for almost exactly 3 years and 8 months. I dosed saw palmetto for a few months a while back, but after more research decided it may have some sort of minimizing effect on the optimal anabolic response from steroid cycles.

I am a very light blonde color, would Toppik still help or be useful? Pardon what could be an uninformed question, but does Toppik do anything to stop hair loss or encourage regrowth, or does it only aid in the improvement of the look and appearance of the hair?

topik only aids in improvement on looks.
also Applied Nutriceuticals stop posting things relevant to my interests. your spending all my money lol.
anyone who's on rogaine and the growth has stopped. i recommend switching to a higher % solution of minox. i did and saw results within 3 weeks after being on rogaine for 3 years and hadnt seen any improvements for at least 1.5 ish.

This could be one of the best, most useful and helpful posts, I have ever read on these forums. I have seen ZERO benefit from Rogaine (as far as ONGOING improvement) for TWO YEARS!!! I have been using store-bought Sam's Club version of the 5%. I just need to know where to buy the hallowed 20%, my PM box is wide open friends :)

I've been on propecia since 3years and have been getting good results but recently had to stop because of 2 side effects...
my libido was down in the gutter, my estrogen levels went too high according to a blood test and thus I have some gynocomastia according to my doctor... I already had symptomes of gyno when I hit puberty (fat kid) and it prolonged it or something because of the estrogen.

So I've had to come off it =( anyways I have a buzzcut so meh but for other people my brother has been on it for 4-5years and is having 0 issues

What's peoples' experiences with fin in regards to initial shedding?, I'm planning to start it soon and I've gotten over most of my fears in regards to effects of it on my workout. But the idea or a shed is effecting my thinking of when to start taking it.

Website is very informative, did you notice any effects on strength or body composition on the fin when you were not using gear? Also did you ever get a shed from fin?

hey man, sorry i totally missed this post. I've remained on HRT for nearly a decade, so I can't really comment on finasteride:body comp during PCT and 'natural' stages

Website is very informative, did you notice any effects on strength or body composition on the fin when you were not using gear? Also did you ever get a shed from fin?

They claim there's initial shedding when you start Fin. My doc also said it can take up to 6 months before it kicks in, but I think this varies from person to person. I've been on it for 3 years now and haven't noticed any negative sides in gains. Long after my very mild cycles end (usually dermacrine & p-stanz) I retain my strength and am actually the strongest I've been to date.
In regards to the info that CED posted on ketoconazol, I have to say I'm blown away by the efficiency of this shampoo. My doc gave me Ket 2% and if you have insurance you can get it dirt cheap. Tell your doctor you have itchy scalp and have heard good things about ket 2%. I have 2 bottles. Directions say the freqency of usage is not that much and if I remember correctly is certainly not everyday, but I use it every morning. The reason I'm blown away though is I'm finishing up a cycle with 2 different formulas that are said to be no no's for keeping all your hair. I have less shedding than before I got the keto 2 and was on zero aas/ph's. I even started up my toco8 early just for fear I was dooming myself but the shedding was reduced ever before I cracked open the bottle. Propecia and ket2% are a sweet little stack on its own. Before I took anything to combat hair loss I would see 5-15 hairs on my hands and in the sink. Yesterday morning (on propecia/keto2% and 2 compounds) I see 1-2 at the MOST.

Nice man! Yeah there's 3 mainstream Ketoconazole shampoos. I've used them all Revita, Regenepure, and Perfect Image Hair Regrowth,
I have reviews of them here: Invalid Link Removed

I've current reviewing N2B Muscle's Shampoo. It doesn't have ketoconazole, but I'm losing LESS hair in the shower (i'm shocked)
here's the review: http://anabolicminds.com/forum/needtobuildmuscle-mrsupps/180596-going-review-n2.html
I'm only about a week in.

Has anyone put together some stack ideas?

I currently have no thinning issues, but would love an idea of what I could take, use daily, or weekly just to look after my hair(which is safe). I worry a touch as most males in my family have thinning hair & alot less than I.

Thanks

Would anyone recommend finasteride with epi as a precaution. I was hoping I could take it and hopefully not even worrie about hair loss.

Anyone have any sleep problems after staring finasteride? I've heard some abecdotal reports of this around the HL forums.

it won't prevent hair loss from Epistane. only hair loss from testosterone
Epistane didn't seem to give me any hair loss however.

Anyone have any sleep problems after staring finasteride? I've heard some abecdotal reports of this around the HL forums.

I haven't heard of this, but any sort of hormonal changes, in theory, could cause this.

** Finasteride is demonized on the Internet -- and just like other Rx drugs 2% of people experience side effects. For the vast majority finasteride works really well. At least 3 times a week, I get emails from people that visited my website asking about finasteride's side effects (will I lose my sex drive?) (will my sperm count drop?) (will my penis fall off?)... It's great that people do their prior research, but these side effects are rare considering how many people take finasteride. Second, any side effects that finasteride gives you are reversible. They a reversed for most people but simply discontinuing the medication. If worst comes to worst, side effects from finasteride can be reversed with HRT.

I've never heard that before, but it hasn't been a problem. The worst thing you can do is take fin before bed.....while washing it down with mountain dew;)

If I want to take my first ever pro hormone cycle for 6 weeks then should I even bother with one of these hair loss prevention methods or is one cycle too little of a worry for hair loss? I dont plan of using a cycle ever again, just want to get a head start after a long gym lay off due to injury.

I am 29, have a full head of hair, but I fear losing what I have. Should I use one of these methods and if so which one and for how long?

Thanks!
