Going to be a Freaky Summer starting with Swole/HGHPro

Oh, by the way, Doug, I have a question: You're always eating parboiled rice. Whats the difference between that and regular, long-grain rice? Is it more nutritious? Is there a taste difference?

It's lower glycemic, less processed, I think it's the next best thing to brown rice.

Well I was up another 10 lbs on decline close grip and up 5 on Obar curls in my short arm workout yesterday...

Today is Chest and Back 10 X 3... with the short rest.

Joints are just holding together, tomorrow is he rough day with clean and press, 5 X 5.

I am bigger now than I have been in a long time, I was just getting bigger when I hurt my shoulder 2 years ago. Now that I'm pressing the weight a bit more some of that old size is starting to come back. I didn't know how much the injury was holding me back till now.

So I have not been sticking to the plan as I have been ravenous so there has been extra eating during the evening. I am up 7 lbs instead of down like I was intending. I tried on a pair of pants I bought a few weeks ago and if anything they were a tad looser, so it looks like minimal damage. I am estimating my water mark for 10% bf is more like 210 - 212 right now. I'll try to get the diet back on track and get down to 210 by the end of the summer.

man Doug you have this down to an art now. I need to visit Canada just so I can pick your brain for a few days!!!

Yah I had to pick some pretty meaty brains over the years myself.

Today was good but I could only hold my increase of 10 lbs on bench for one set so I was up 30 lbs.. briefly... The rest went smoothly though and I finished much stronger than I did last week.

The Bent over rows are a different story, up another 10 lbs across the board for a total of 40 pounds increase. They were pretty damn tight too...

Now to rest up for tomorrows brutality....

Nice work doug, got any progress pics? It's not as if you were small to start with, so looking bigger must be SOLID!!!

Yah I don't so many off season pics as the wife is a miserable photographer, I have been wanting to set something up with the girls so maybe I'll jump in for a few shots. I work with a girl who does a great job with the camera, now it's just about lighting etc...

Things went reasonably well last night considering I am pretty beat up...

Leg press 5 X 5 same weight as last week but I am already up 90 lbs on these so I didn't see the need for increase. Instead I just made sure my reps were deep. I was able to position my feet so that I felt little to no strain on my knee.

Same with calf lever 5 X 5...

The dreaded clean and press was next... up 10 lbs 3 reps then fail, got pissed and did another anyway. I was a bit pissed that I had to drop down again and really irked that I only got 4 reps on the second set.

I re-evaluated my stance and flow as I could feel it was too fuggin slow. The next 3 sets went like clockwork and seemed much easier.

One thing that needs mentioning here is my legs are pretty dead when I start these and kind of stiff as well do I fuggs with my technique. I am already too slow on this motion so the extra poor take off does not help. These are mind blowingly exhausting to boot.

I am really fuggin sore today, one thing that poor form does is it makes my muscles have to work twice as hard to complete the motion so I get incredible growth from these.

I can just never get the cooking time right, I use a rice cooker, do you just use more water?

Brown rice is best done in the oven DW. I use a glass baking dish that is either round or square and if I remember right it is 1.5 cups rice, 2.5 cups water and cook at 375F for 1 hour. You boil the water and pour it into the hard rice in the dish (spray it with pam or something non-stick) and then bake it for the hour. You can make more of course if you have a larger dish to cook it, make a nice light brown rice. If that does not work, I do a 1:3 ratio of rice:water and cook on the stove very slow at a simmer than let sit 15 minutes once the water is gone with the lid on and no heat (just left on the burner for the residual). Hope that helps big Doug!

It does, but I love my rice cooker!! I wonder if I increased to 3:1 it would work, I'll try that.

Last night was a strange night. I went up another 10 lbs on close grig 10 X 3 sets 45 seconds rest, which is an total increase of 40 pounds!! Alas I only made it through 2 sets and had to go back down and got to the 6th set and failed again. I did not have a good spotter and was having problems with balance. It was the 9th set and the balance problem reocurred. I checked the weight an sure enough my partner kept on adding the same weight after I dropped it. By this time there was 10 more lbs on the left side!! We corrected the problem and finished... You know my arms got a mega workout with all the extra effort to balance the unbalanced weight. Close grip is hard enough to balance lol

My arms were really aching so I was not especting much from obar curl 10X3 45 sec rest. I went up the persctibed 5 lbs anyway and I was an absolute powerhouse. My arms are screaming today though.

So the final numbers are

Leg press up 90
Calf lever up 90
Bench up 30 for only 1 set up 20 for the other 9
Bent over row up 40
Close grip up 40 for 2 sets out of 10 up 30 for the other 8
Obar curl up 20
Clean and press up 20 did go up 30 but only 4 reps out of 5 for 1 set

Just one workout left on Thursday then it's one week deload to get ready for Freak part II... at which time my Testopro will got up to 6 ed...

Oh and diet has been pretty good this week so my weight is back down to 217 and a tad leaner than when I started at 211... We'll still say I'm about 12-13% though.

Looking good. Do you find testopro better at an elevated dose? I tried it but did not notice much. I only did it for a few days though.

Once I been on it for about 5 weeks I like to elevate it to keep the ball rolling so to speak...

It definitely gave me a boost when I went to 5 and onto 6 a day. I had been on test boosters for a long time though so that could have something to do with the need for progressive dosing. I don't see any need to go past 6 a day though, that would make you one short tempered SOB.

On horny short tempered SOB, who probably wouldn't be getting any because of his bad temper....:stooges:

Haha, sounds a lot like me...especially with the games females play. I don't have the time or the patience.

Yah I am not into the game playing either, just find a woman that likes sex as much as you do. Still even then you can only push it so far... remember the way to spike a ladies libido is through her heart.

They like it just as much as we do, some MORE...just most are not willing to admit it. I just really don't have the patience. Maybe I'm spoiled, I'm used to meeting women and getting it on, that 's just the way I've had it most of my adult life. They like what they see, then I tell them what I want up front. If they don't like it, I kick rocks. By the way, I cook my own rice and most of my own meals...

Man do I ache, had yesterday off and I am even more sore today.... Just a lighter chest and back workout and that's it for phase 1..

I will be going on holidays but there is a gym accross from my step daughers where I will do some de-load work and keep up with my cardio...

Oh did not mention granddaughter number 2 arrived last week, my step daughter had a baby girl so I will be visiting with them for the week.

Thanks Sam, good to know someone's keeping count :ponder: :veryhappy:

Yeah, sorry, I wasn't a math major in college. In fact, I flunked my kindergarten entrance exam. LOL!

CONGRATS X.....what number are we on now? 7!!! yes congrats x7!!

You are a very lucky man in being able to watch you family grow. The Lord has truly blessed you in many areas of life my friend!

I would add water to it. The length of cooking time cooks off water faster than brown rice absorbs it.

I like this idea, never heard it before. Could even throw some chicken stock / bullion and or vegetables in towards the end too. Nah, I think Splenda, some crushed almonds and cinnamon with a little skim added in. Make it a dessert. Yeah...

AMEN! I have been there before.
Yah my wife and healthy cooking.. not her style...
No doubt, when she came to me it was fried everything... We fought because she would get mad I wuldn'teat her cooking. I told her she knew what I eat cook that or don't get mad at me for opting out of dinner for a protein shake. So I have been teaching the boy how to cook better and she is getting better but is honestly happy with not learning and others cooking. LOL

Everything OK?

Hey guys ... first of all thanks...

Everything is ok, just deloading down here in Ottawa, looked up some old friends...

My mentors opening up a new gym here in town, it was like Xmas when I was unloading the boxes of equipment all brand spanking new.

This is going to be a great place spiritual meets hard core physical, if you catch my drift. Body and soul with a believe achieve attitude. I felt like quitting my job and becoming a gym bum. We may open up a Phase II in Montreal some day and yours truly would be taking the reins...

On my way home today and regular lifting will start again monday.. if you want to call month 3 of the Freak regular. Lots of hard core shyte in this baby.. I'll lay it out for you when I get home.

Glad to see your enjoying a little R & R. Is it as hot in Ontario as it is in BC right now???
