I’am at the Gym working out,and a Guy walked up and start giving Me advice about training. I listen to him,and at the end of his conversation. I turn to him and said, Look at You, and look at Me. This guy was like 275lbs overweight and trying to give Me advice. Please!
It’s a lot of Guys always giving people advice and they are not in shape, nor produce self progression.
Have This every happen to You at the Gym, or here on AM?
I’ve literally only ever had this once. I was training in a hotel gym while away with work. It wasn’t the greatest gym so I didn’t what I normally do in that situation and just drop the weight, focus on form, leave a few in the tank and make it a maintenance session.
Only one other bloke in there, absolutely butching a single arm dB row, looked like he was trying to start a lawnmower, back was like a cat who’s seen a cucumber and he was using a 40lb dB......but I see stuff like this all the time and ignore it so no dramas.
Anyway, I decide to bench on the rubbish fixed stand bench. couple of warm up sets and threw 154lbs to do sets of 10-12 ish, mid set I hear ‘you need to put the clips on the bar mate’ (mid ****ing set this genius starts giving advice), I finish my 12 and just say politely ‘oh it’s fine, I’m not pushing the weight here at all mate’ (I very rarely use clips anyway).
Anyway, before my next set he calls over, ‘you shouldn’t use that bench without a spot, it’s a bit awkward’ (now I’m his defence the way the hooks were lined up wasn’t great and if I’d been using 220 or something he’s got a point as reracking was fiddly, but I’m not using a heavy wait. At this point the I say slight firmer, ‘I’m fine thank you, this is a lightweight for me so I’ll have no problems’
It ended a bit frosty though, the idiot then mutters something about know it all guys just going to get hurt, at which point I highlighted I was s qualified pt and would correct the multiple form errors he’d commuted since I’d been in there.
He didn’t like that to be honest lol
