Give me what hes taking

Somehow I think this kid has the type parents who are driving him to perform, it's sad when parents push kids to that level. It reminds me of the little muscular kid who's father was accused of juicing the boy at like 7years old. Of course there is the possibility that he's enjoying it, but he didn't seem to be.

Would it be sad if the parents were pushing their kids to learn reading, writing, math, and science at a young age? Would it be terrible if a 7 year old could do college math (or some crazy looking gymnastics ****)?

I don't see what's wrong with training kids at a young age, as long as they still have time for "normal" kid activities. If it were more than a couple hours a day I could see how it would be unreasonable, though.

The 'rents might be using the youngin' as a Guinnea Pig and practicing medicine without a license if ya know what I mean...........would sukk if that were the case, but personally I think it is. :saroll:

Yes it is sad when parents push their kids ridiculously hard academically as well. Subjecting a child to that level of pressure is crazy regardless of the reason. I would agree though if they still live a normal child's life then yeah sports at that age is fine. What are the odds though that a kid who's that good, that young is living a normal life?

Tough to say. There are a lot of hours in a day so the kid could well be living a pretty normal life. Or maybe not - who knows...

Can't judge one way or another without knowing ALL the facts but i can say that I wish I had training that would of pushed me as a child. As long as his health and safety are a priority.

Motivating a kid is one thing...but take a guy that my friend knew that was starving his kid and beating him if he didn't learn mathematics and alternate languages and programming. He made the kid read dictionaries from back to front. He also had siblings, one went crazy by at 15 and was committed. Another killed herself, the other made it "ok". I know her know.

This was in 1989, the kid was around 6 years old. Kid knew several languages by age 10 and knew how to do graduate level statistics by age 13. He was programming by age 8, 3 languages. The kid hates his father now, but the guy is now working for Microsoft. So, all the starving and beatings he took paid off for him financially but he now hates his dad...

You say it's worth it to that extreme? Bullshiiiiit, it's not worth doing anything to your own kids just to grasp some type of financial gain. Motivation is ok, but there are some that are just ridiculous. His father figured that he'd use him as some media freak, which he did get attention. I think he appeared on a talk show or two, but in the end, he lost his child's appreciation and respect.

What the **** are you talking about? I said a couple hours a day, and never condoned starving or beating kids. Lmao, where the **** did this post come from?

Now I'm pissed off at my parents for not pushing me to do this when I was 5.

Second that nomination.

Wait my parents pushed me into religion at an early age.
Made me go to EVERY church function.
Up until i moved out.

Lets just say that I have my own ideas about the spiritual world, but I refuse to follow any known religion.....
And if I go near a church or someone mentions the subject too much, I get hives and faint.
