Formulating the Perfect Pre-Workout Cocktail

I am a big fan of BCAAs during my workout. I am also a fan of pre-workout drinks, and I want to formulate my own, but I need some advice.

So if you were going to formulate a pre-workout drink, and had the following ingredients to work with what would your drink contain, how much of each ingredient and why:

Beta alanine
Creatine Monohydrate
AAKG
Taurine
L- leucine

Beta alanine 3g
Creatine Monohydrate 3g
AAKG 3g
Taurine 3g
L- leucine 5g

and the why is because those amounts feel good, much more on BA or CM and its either bad tingles or the craps.

I don't mind the tingles so much, but the craps, well lets just say that I have wrecked the mens room toilet a time or two.

Thanks E, I will give this a shot

I have experiemented with making my own mix, I believe I've found a monster winner. By monster, I mean out of the many pre workout drinks I've tried, if I rated the very best one a 10, this would be a 80. It outperforms anything out there by miles. I've even had friends try it to confirm and they all want their own supplies now. PM me if you're interested in the ingredients and amounts.

Ok... Didn't expect that many PMs.

-4g Dicreatine Malate
-3g Beta Alanine
-3g Citrulline Malate
-3g Glycerol MonoSterate
-3g Taurine
-2g Glucuronolactone
-200mg caffeine
-60mg 1,3 Dimethylamylamine
-2 scoops Xtend

I add the Xtend mostly for the Leucine and also an additional gram of Citrulline Malate. One could add bulk powders instead, but by using Xtend you really don't need to add anything else for flavor.

I must say, I have absolutely no credentials to design pre workout drinks. I'm not suggesting this is safe for consumption, or that anyone try it; merely stating what I use, and that it is possible to make an effective pre workout mix without a proprietary blend of 100 ingredients. When I put together mine, I added one stimulant at a time, in small quantities, before upping the dose and adding more. This is an incredibley effective stimulant mix and probably not for everyone, and definitely not for long periods of everyday use. I would definitely never take this in the same day as another stim, and definitely not add ANY more.

Your ingredients look dynamite bro! Easy's reccomendation is spot on IMO. He helped me with a few things when I was tossing ideas around.

Lately for me, it has been the following....

2scoops WHITE BLOOD
1scoop GREEN MAGNITUDE
1can LO-CARB MONSTER.

pretty much gets me jacked.

Beta alanine 3g

AAKG 3g

Very solid dosing recommendations. Pretty similar to my own personal pre-workout cocktail (for those particular supplements)...

As stated above, you may want to add in some citrulline malate as well. And if you need some energy, the 1,3-dimethylamylamine (geranium extract) is a very nice addition @ 60mg. I prefer it to caffeine...

Oh, and you may want to work your way up to ~3g of AAKG. Arginine tears my stomach up if I don't work into it. 3.5g works great. 4g and I'm basically a statue on the porcelain pony at the gym...
