Douchebags at the gym...

An hour and a half? Makes no sense. I don't care who the hell you are no one should be deadlifting for an hour and a half. Moronic

Every time I looked up she was on her phone!! I was at the gym for an hour and a half and she was already dead lifting before I got there. She left the same time I did so she was dead lifting longer than that. The most I ever spend doing my big lifts is 20-30 mins. I try to always be considerate at the gym.

Lol, you need rest between those max effort lifts :P

I'm content to say I hog a squat rack for an hour every Wednesday. Fortunately I've been around my gym long enough and squat hard enough that it might as well say "Reserved for Ben between 7.30 and 8.30pm"

An hour? You need 5 minutes MAX when pushing heavy weight. Any longer than 5 minutes is not doing anything extra for you. Most advanced lifters wouldn't need more than 3 minutes In between heavy heavy sets

So do I lol. There are other people in the gym I couldn't imagine being that selfish. I've seen people like that though. If I see this again I'm going to get the manager. Throw a fit. Idgaf I pay to use the gym. No one can put an hour reserve on a machine, squat rack, whatever. **** it I'm fighting the next person I see do this. **** gets me heated. Like really ****ing mad

Lol, I was referring to the deadlifting girl as needing rest pauses.

I might rest three or four minutes before my max effort lifts. I usually do about 15 sets of squats. That constitutes 90% of my leg day. Then I go do the girlie machines lol.

I quit my commercial gym today. It was bitter sweet but walking in there reminded me of why I was quitting.

The manager asked why I was quitting and I said, "Uh, cuz it's cheaper at my new gym!" He nodded his head really quick!

I had to pay for one last month but I'll only use it if I'm desperate. I can't imagine training in that kind of environment anymore. I'll take an old school, hardcore lifting gym over a commercial, new equipment gym any day!

Twerps that smirk at me all cocky before they hit their half rep squats with my warmup.
This seems to happen very often at my university gym, and three years into school I still can't figure out these people's reasoning?

Haters are gonna hate. Just keep lifting heavy as fcuk! ???

It's just the way society is. If anyone gets even half an idea that you may be using steroids...to THEM...all of your hard work becomes unfortunately...not impressive or much to THEM..it's hard to talk about this topic because it puts a label on the general population as being ignorant but that's exactly what they are. Society as a whole knows very little about steroid use. The stigma attached to steroids is awful and the big guys who have a certain muscular physique may garner that type of negative attention. The most you can do is ignore it.

This chick is drinking from a sippy cup and her man is spotting her while she does some heavy lat pull downs. Well, 100 lbs but she's not even working her back anymore, she's working her forearms.

Zerrrrrrrrrrooooo.....

I typically do. Or if they stare shamelessly enough I give them a smile and a wave. LOL

Ask them to pin you. Post results.

Haha "hey bud, my flexibility is sh1t because I'm so damn big, would you mind jabbing my glute for me? I saw you checkin 'em out"

Sorry, I didn't mean to stare!

People circuit training with every piece of equipment in that bitch. Okay man do your fcuking bb curls..fine whatever. But why are you doing them in the rack? Atleast move the bench from out of there so other people can use it. Pretty sure your ****ing ballsweat doesn't care if it falls on the floor or the bench headrest.

Every damn day....it just doesn't stop..never ****ing stops...

Not douche bag, but I didn't want to start another thread....

I saw the most dangerous movement today, this dude was training couple older ladies and he had her lie backwards on a flat bench on a smith machine. Imagine your feet where your head should be when benching. She was positioned so that she was doing a reversed squat with her feet pushing up the BB without the safety thing on. If her feet slips, that bar will crash on her throat/face.

All I have to say is wow, I am glad she didn't get hurt.

I read this a few times but I can't picture it.

Reverse squat but crash on her face?

Do you mean laying on the ground and pushing the bar up with your feet? I see people do that all the time.

Yes, laying on flat bench and pushing the bar up and down with her feet. So her upper back/shoulders are on bench while feet pushing bar.

I've never seen this before and seems so dangerous. Why not do conventional squats?
What's the advantage of this technique?

I dunno... Some people are not able to squat. This is more like leg pressing..

I get what you're saying. But why not just use the leg press machine if that's the case? You don't have much room for error if your feet start to slip/move around. You've only given yourself a couple inches of coverage with your feet on the bar.

Again, I know you're not doing this so when I say you just know I'm referring to "they".

Vertical leg press is much different than a 45 degree one. I believe I've only been in 1 gym that had one. Don't know if I would do it on a Smith like that though.

Unless that gal has something wrong with her that she can't do a conventional squat, BUT why not use the leg press machine or leg press where you can add plates to.

Or maybes she is only doing as her trainer dude is instructing her to do.

On a side note, smith machines feels so much lighter.

To me AAS is no different than folks that drink to have a good time. They are using alcohol to increase their level of fun. But nobody says anything about FEDs (fun enhancing drugs). Not all that drinks are irresponsible same as NOT ALL THAT USES AAS ARE IRRESPONSIBLE.

Anyways, that's my views. Drink away and while I work on a heathy body. Yes, you can be very heathy while using AAS.

Smith machines give me a false sense of strength so I stay away. How bout the dbags that use smith deads from 10" to get their max. Lulz

I'm going to be that douchebag at the gym today. Just saying. I have no patience for stupidity and will call people out today!!! Getting sick and worked all weekend!!!

I've seen similar moronic things. I saw a young guy training a woman in her 50's or 60's. Had her doing ****ing drop sets lmao. The woman was clearly not well versed in training and this guys training her like she's his 25 yr old guy friend. She looked miserable and the way he was training her was completely unnecessary. In b4 "but drop sets are a key to being in shape" comments

But bro drop sets are the key to being in shape. Doesn't matter how old you are or the current condition of your health, high intensity in the gym or don't come at all.

In that case I wanna see this old grandma doing weighted burpees next time! Where's that damn weight vest?

The dudes that swarm on the married woman the occasion they come without their man. Don't say a word to either when the man is there, but all up in their space when he isn't.
