after much deliberation i've decided to get my run in 1st and then go fishing. of course this means getting up earlier, but what the hay, i can always take a nap in the afternoon...ah, life is so complicated-not.

That’s a far cry from my sorry ass. We lost 25% of our RT staff recently due to China virus burnout/stress. Early retirement, giving up full time for per diem, or hoping for better conditions at other institutions.

So I am back to working night shift for the next 6 weeks. I took the opportunity because they offered me $10 more per hour due to desperate need, in addition to the normal nightly shift differential. I finally feel like I am getting paid what I am worth and for dealing with the conditions. Should have been happening long ago.

I’m certainly going to need some extra cash to compensate for all the inflation of goods this administration has inflicted on us. I spent $10 for a stick of deodorant yesterday! I could have bought a bargain brand for $8, but I need something that works.

Meanwhile, gas prices are already at their highest since 2014- which of course was in the midst of another administration that sought out to sacrifice the prosperity of the American people.

I was fishing a tournament and had what could have been a tournament winning king mackerel. Had a hammerhead take half of it while it was on the gaff. Even half of that king was comparable to the rest of the king we reeled in that day.

Last year during snapper season we had dolphins stalking the boat and would come after all the fish as we tried to bring them in. Had to have one person splashing the net to keep them away. Dolphins can be a big pain in the ass.

I absolutely suck at fresh water fishing. Only thing I can figure out how to catch is catfish. I HATE cleaning catfish. So I just take off to my dads in Alabama two or three times a year and keep the freezer full.

my uncle johnny used to have a license to run a trout line and when i was a young lad i would stay with him and aunt thelma down on the farm...used to haul in a ton of catfish and quite a few carp...

Yeah, the paper straw thing has to go. Right up peoples asses. It makes everything you drink taste like paper as it starts dissolving in your mouth instantly. If I wanted my drinks to taste like paper, I would just save some money and eat paper with some water. Someday, I just might have to!

Alaskan Sockeye salmon is quite delicious IMO, but also quite pricy. The farm raised Atlantic salmon bullshyt has hints of hideousness, and even fresh lake salmon isn’t my absolute favorite. Unless of course I am in that kind of mood when I just want something extra fishy in my mouth!

The best memories of my entire life are the fishing trips my grandparents used to bring my brother and I on every year to Rangeley, Maine. Those experiences even rank above my first orgasm. It’s the quintessential place for an outdoorsman, and everyone that has ever been there falls in love with it instantly. It’s a magical and beautiful fishing town. You need to go...

In other news, I had a good day!

This included a mostly routine visit to my PCP. Among other things, I showed him what was questionably a suspicious mole on my forearm. We both decided it was best to just burn it off and forget it was even there- done!

Then he offered me some Rx Tadalafil. Initially I declined because I have research chemical grade. It didn’t take me long to regret that decision so I messaged him back when I got home. We also decided that I am going to finally have my test/hormones checked. I just have to book it with the lab. With any luck, the results will be grim and I can eventually get on some TRT. I feel that I am ready, and quite willing

The populated southern part of the state where I live (and thrive ) is far different from the much more rural part of the state with all the mountains and lakes. Two different worlds altogether. The last time I was there was 3 years ago, and I am willing to bet you still won’t find any BLM signs there!

around 3 months ago i went to tractor supply and bought a really nice bird feeder and have been feeding the birds everyday since then-it makes me feel needed-- kinda like taking care of my friend sid who i had to have put down. anyways, i was talking with a buddy i ran into when buying bird feed and he told me how woodpeckers really like pumpkin seeds, so i made a trip to wally world and got a big bag of sunflower seeds and a big bag of pumpkin seeds and put them out on the area around the bird feeder...it took a few days and then i saw the most beautiful bird, a red, white and really dark blue/blackish woodpecker, now i have 2 different breeds of woodpeckers and both male and female. the variety of birds including bluejays and cardinals is really nice to look at and when they get to singing is fantastic....nature is a wonderful thing and should be appreciated.
