seriously, if they are sincere about redistribution of wealth the should lead by example.

They are free to lecture and donate as they please, but not free to steal it from me or others.

No one is stealing. You live in a civil society and you get a yearly bill for services rendered. Go live in the woods you rugged individualist you. If they can't find you, they can't tax you.

"Liberals" have a plan. They have several actually, all posted online. You may not like or agree with them but at least they have one. Current libertarians are like a Mad Max movie.

seriously? what does this have to do with multi-millionaire democrats saying they want redistribution of wealth-for everyone but themselves...just like congress approved obamacare-for everyone else but themselves.

They're happy to pay their fair share and their proposals would affect them too. The idea that they need to donate every thing before asking others to pitch in their fair share as well is a ridiculous straw man argument.

First of all I dont have an employer, I am a self proprietor. If I dont hand over my hard earnings quarterly they will destroy my life and that is a guarantee.

Second, why do you think they withhold in the first place? "Duh, I have to pay you $15 an hour minimum wage, I keep 28% of it and hand it over to IRS gangtas. Be sure to pay your property tax are your house is stolen.

This is inhuman and Im not kidding.

there should be a constitutional amendment that any bill passed by congress should be law for congress as well-no more exemptions.

Me too. It's a bill for services rendered. If you don't like what you're getting for your money you're free to seek a better deal with another government.

Yep, you're right. I forgot about that. For some reason I could only remember reading about the clerkship he had in some Republicans office after Syracuse.

It's all moot anyway, really. It isn't as though being a legislator isn't work, no matter how many people try to spin it as such. I've read about what those folks do in an average day, and if that isn't work then I don't know what is! (a point I'm sure you would agree with)

It wasn't a long run as a lawyer, but I was just answer the question as yes/no. Biden started a firm after he started in government, but no idea if it continued or not.

And I completely agree. I hear all the time how we should give respect to people that work in trades, but then those same people crap on others who they seem as having easy jobs like lawyers and legislators. There are slimy people in any job, but there's a lot of people who truly want to make a difference too. Those people get drowned out by the noise.

It's the Grassley amendment. If you do a search for that term or section Section 1312 (d)(3)(D), it'll come up. Supposedly Grassley wrote it in because he thought the Democrats would reject it and then he'd be able to call them out on the rumors that they were trying to be exempt, and now they're all stuck with it.

I could be wrong on all of this, but Congress should be able to be exempt since employers with more than 100 employees are exempt. But from what I can see, they haven't exempted themselves. If somebody else has different info, I'm all for learning.

I wonder the technicality of this? Congress is well over 100 employees, but really its a meeting place of representatives of local districts across the country all serving from their local office.

Depends, I think NY State Troopers end up making over 100k a year plus massive benefits. And over in Long Island in Nassau County cops there are loaded, I think they start 100k, but that was last I heard 20 years ago when I dated a daughter of a court officer who told me....and also wanted his daughter to date a local cop rather than me but thats another story LOL!!!!
