Keep in mind, whats not talked about is that DPRK has trillions of dollars in rare earth minerals that were discovered not too long ago. Being there are resources there that meets the needs of highest levels of sophisticated military tech there is ALOT of interest in North Korea, more so than that black gold in the middle east.

That would be impossible since there still are rich sources of rare earth minerals/elements. Maybe it was something specific but I dunno much about that stuff at all. I know in DPRK they have stuff our military would love to get their hands on. Just think about this and how China plays a role in the political atmosphere there as China is just as hungry to militarized tech as well, and they have no interest in letting the outside world destroy Korea and its government.

Crossing the border in the center of the DMZ isnt crossing the DMZ...its just crossing the border within the DMZ.

Unfortunately, Kim couldnt get that far since his country lacked the resources to finance these to help him get that far.

That arms deal was ancient and I actually talked with my best bud last night for hours about a bunch of the crazy **** that was involved during the time frame you are speaking on.

But I don't believe anyone was "making up" Obama's part in the deal so much as correlating it with the time frame and president in office. If you just watched the main stream news on the event you wouldn't know the back story on the drop off.

In Asian cultures (Im most familiar with China) what they (N/S.K) did was extremely symbolic. They are heavily into political symbolism more-so than here in the states imo. Going by that it gives me personal optimism for peace. We just have to give it time and makes sure both sides keep playing their cards right of course.

Anybody read that bill yet in the link I provided above? Congress brings up everything me and my tin foil hat have been bringing up all these years. This peace is big but thats my opinion. Its Kucinich but whatever.

Korean leaders have crossed the DMZ before. In 2000 and 2007, the leader of South Korea met with the leader of North Korea in Pyongyang.

And yes, Kim had to cross the North's DMZ to cross the border, but that isn't what you stated in your original statement. Here's your clue, what is so hard about saying oops, I misspoke and didn't mean to say the DMZ?

I know and acknowledge the back story on the drop off. You're ignoring facts that don't fit your narrative and then accusing anybody who disagrees with your conspiracy theory as only watching "main stream news" like you have access to any news source that the rest of the world doesn't. There is a clear reason why the money was given. There is a clear reason why the money was delivered the way that it was delivered. Just because some ******* who barely made it out of high school decides to post their theory on reddit or their blog doesn't make it true. If the "main stream news" isn't covering it, maybe that's because it's complete bull****.

I never said it was the first time ANY Korean leader crossed it. I clearly said first NORTH Korean leader to go to the South.

This started with your statement "Rocket man already crossed the DMZ." I pointed out that isn't true. I'm not even the only one in this thread pointing out that isn't true!

You then said "other korean leaders" and I pointed out that also isn't true. As always, rather than saying oops, I misspoke and meant North Korea leader crossing the border, you claim you've been clearly saying something the whole time which doesn't line up with what you've been saying and then get mad at me and accuse me of jumping on your semantics.

Which section of the border did Kim cross that's not in the DMZ? And which other North Korean leader has visited South Korea?

Clinton sent Albright to speak with North Korea in person. The leaders (who are not the same as now just like our leader isn't) have met before and it went nowhere.

I didn't say you're lying. But a North Korean president going into South Korea is groundbreaking. Especially because the theme that the media was portraying a couple months ago was Donald Trump is starting World War 3. The South Korean president is giving Trump kudos for the meeting and the South Korean president is the one who said Donald Trump should be given Nobel Peace Prize for it

Kim Jong-un has never met with the South Korean president before so that's a first. No North Korean leader has gone to South Korea before I believe that's a first also. So you didn't tell me anything bud

They met in the DMZ. No he did not cross the DMZ. That's not just my stance; that is what happened. If you walk down to a river and swim in the river, did you cross the river? I don't know how else to explain it to you.

I don’t think anyone deserves a “peace” prize who has been bombing the crap out of other countries and murdering innocent civilians in other regions of planet regardless of what was accomplished in Korea. I do agree that Korea is a positive accomplishment to this point.

Because words matter. I was responding to somebody else who was referring to korean leaders without specifying between North and South. Korean leaders have passed over the boarder before. If you're not specifying, then yes, this is the first time a leader from the North has stepped over the border to the South.

It is a first. It is symbolic. Symbolism is worthless. What I've said repeatedly is let's wait until we see how it plays out and who will actually follow through.

You're asking me to acknowledge what Trump is doing, but also claim that Obama did nothing. If Trump was President when Bin Laden got shot, you'd be petitioning for him to be king.

I dunno if first since I haven’t researched it but very symbolic in Asian politics first or not. That is the zone they actively had the finger on the trigger for decades. I just wouldn’t jump to conclusions and hope for the best.

But I get what you guys are saying.
He only crossed into the DMZ not over the DMZ.
But all the media station were saying crossed the DMZ.
I don't trust NK.
But I think fear is the primary driving force.
