Dad's Corner

I just read through this whole thing, im a young dad at 22 and my boys turning 2 on sunday, he makes me proud everyday and was my inspiration to get into shape to set the best example i can for him
 
More power to you. I wasn't even close to being mentally ready until almost 30, but I imagine it forces you to grow up fast.
 
I had a rough childhood so i was always mature for my age but i walked out of that delivery room a completely different person and i wouldnt change it for the world

Got a 7 month old girl.. it's awesome.. she can pull herself up on her bouncer without using her legs... she's a little beast. I thought my whey was getting low a little too quick....
 
Found this thread a bit late but I like it. Only made it a few pages in...way too much to read. lol
I have a 4 year old daughter and 2 and a half year old son. I've had the best time with them this past year while my wife's been deployed even though it's been pretty difficult as a "single" parent. She'll be home in a week though, and we're all ready to be a complete family again.
Like what was mentioned in the first few pages, I love driving with my kids in the truck, cranking up some tunes, but instead of Kidz Bopz, it's heavy metal that we all sing to! It's a blast.

Awesome to here man...glad she's coming home! I don't know how you do it lol. I love all three of my kids more than life, but i know if i had to do it alone I would struggle.

LOL my daughters favorite song when she was like 3 was "Let the Bodies Hit the floor". That's my girl.
 
So hard to believe but having our girls first birthday party tomorrow! Time sure does fly. I'll post a youtube link to the video I created for it next week after her actual birthday so I can include tomorrow in it. Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog!

It helps that she got kicked out of the army and knocked up by some other guy before the divorce was finalized. But really its dual custody she just gets him for the summer. No way in hell was I gonna let another man play father figure for most of the year.
 
I admittedly would go absolutely insane if another man tried to be a father figure to my daughters at any time. I

I'm facing that potential reality right now with the crooked state trooper that my wife cheated on me with. I'll be damned if he thinks he's going to have any say in what happens in my childrens' lives.

Good luck dude. I've been there and it sucks. Best thing you can do is enlist the help of a really sharp lawyer.

Yeah, I thought was great too until I caught her through her cell records. Should have been a little more on the ball. But I get my kids every weekend right now with that hopefully changing to more often soon, and I have a girlfriend who is 10 times the woman my ex wife is. Life is back to good. :fingersx:

i wonder if the kids feel that way....your ex remarries has more kids, i wonder how your children will be treated by their new 'daddy'.

it is no wonder children of today are so messed up, the social free for all minus morals that we live in today comes at a cost, unfortunately messed up children pick up the tab in short run...in the long run we all pay when those messed up children become messed up adults!!!

Great video Nick. She is a cutie, I so miss that age. My first baby girl is in Middle School this year :(
 
That's an awesome video, man. It's amazing the things they learn to do & how they start to get their own personality in the first year. Happy birthday to the little one!
My youngest boy turns one on Monday. Man it goes by too quick.

Well, I know how you feel. My wife just got back from her deployment and I've found a bunch of emails and other evidence that something's going on. As of now all I have is circumstantial suspicion that tags along flirting in emails. And the kids are caught in the middle. WTF.

men have always been dogs...but in the past society had put restraints on the behavor of women, loose women were looked down upon by mainstream society. things have changed, in todays moral less society women are free to be as slutty as they like with no consequence, some like madonna and miley cyrus are even looked up to. i am sure that there are men who welcome this 'easy woman' society we live in, but it is the children of today who are going to suffer, in my honest opinion...i have noticed more men stepping up to the plate and teaching children morals and ethics, but the decline into degradation that women have adopted saddens me.
 
Agree, can't go 1 day without hearing about Miley Cyrus. But deployment some girls are just as bad, I'd personally ask her what's going on. Nothing can make it worse than a suspicion that is just mixed up. I get scared when I deploy and leave my wife, as said guys are dogs. Hope it works out for you and the kids. Kids always get the short stick when it come to bad relationships.
 
My ex wives new bf just found out he might not be her new baby's daddy. He dodged a bullet IMO.
 
I did ask what's going on, and that didn't work at all. Everything was just flipped upside down on me followed by deflection, denial, threats of divorce, etc. But the only thing I can prove at this moment is the relationship is inappropriate emotionally. She's willing to go to counseling, but there's obvious resistance. We'll see.
 
Why didn't I find this thread sooner. New dad here, my boy is close to five months now. Love being a dad no real complaints so far.

Based on my own personal experience, and having that be exactly what happened to me, she's using the typical "the best defense is a good offense". That for me would be my first suspicion. But I could be wrong.
 
My son caught his first cold. The last few nights have not been fun. Been dragging ass at work since I've got to be up at 4
 
Bumpin this old thread. My girls are 4 months old now. Time is flying!! They ate oatmeal for the first time today and I missed it because I was at school :( kinda bummed but super proud at the same time
 
Time does fly! Ours is eating what we eat now, dinner time is now messy but allot of fun. She's figuring out a spoon and loves veggies, which is nice

Just wait, there's plenty more firsts. My 5 year old daughter read to me for the first time last night. It was scary to think she's reached that point already.

My son just ate for the first time yesterday too. The faces he gave were priceless.
 
My ten month old now waits very anxiously for my wife to finish folding the clothes... As soon as she is done, my daughter crawls over, lifts herself up, and throws each piece of clothing one by one on the floor... Its very entertaining...
 
As much as you get caught up in day to day life, try to remember to slow down and enjoy all these little moments. My girls are 3 and 6 and they are my favorite people in the world. Everything they do is so cool and I just see how fast they are learning and growing right before me. It kills me to hear from other guys that they don't get to enjoy or even know how enjoyable it is to hang out with their kids.

I know most of us already know this, but it can be easy to take the time for granted.

Agreed! My daughter is now walking! Last week she took maybe two steps, now she's all over the place. Things change so quickly. Love these moments though. The video I posted a page back was me capturing a years worth of moments, but I made sure to watch everything with my own eyes first and really take it in.
