Cooking with whey

Long time feat achieved, I made my first successful Boston Cream Donuts.

Bordering on a small cake though lol

Strawberry cake. Super happy with the cake but disappointed with the frosting.

Recipe? The cake looks good, but the frosting...looks like fondant.

For frosting, it is hard to beat the simple protein and yogurt combo.

What was in that frosting?

Just coconut oil and protein. I did it several times with chocolate and it turned out great. I ended up adding more coconut oil to try and thin the graininess but it didn't help.

I may just suck up the extra carbs for the yogurt next time. The cake was so moist and tasty.

I'll put up the recipe in a second.

Cake:

.5c Almond Flour (58g)
1s FINAFLEX (Straw Milkshake) Clear Protein (36g)
1t Strawberry Extract
2T Baking Powder
2T Swerve, Truvia or Stevia
Roughly 1/2c Unsweetened Almond Milk, +/-

400° for 18 or until slight browning on top

Once cooled, I mixed 2T coconut oil and 18g Strawberry Milkshake Protein. Then, another T of Coconut Oil.

Fat content was boosted by the added oil

I'm thinking Pineapple Coconut Pancakes for breakfast today ...

Use yogurt instead of coconut oil, add a dash of SF/FF Pudding mix, really helps enhance and thicken the frosting.

50 grams of Greek yogurt goes a long way and literally has like 1 gram worth of carbs

I will no longer be stubborn about the slight carbs. I miss my sludge anyway.

Still waiting...

How do you get the cream in?

I cheated it, hard chocolate top thinly spread over the cream to seal it in, the cake was baked with a silicone cupcake holder in the top, weighed down a little. That way it baked with a "pouch" I later poured that Boston Cream Mixture into

Thanks man. I really wanted to make a round one but couldn't find a small enough pan. Picked up a muffin/cupcake pan through.

That looks good. I wish I could tolerate cheese cake.

Damn. Lactose intolerance I assume

No clue why. I love sour cream, I love cream cheese, and I love milk. I've always loved these things but I've never liked the mixture. Not at all.

Ohhh just not a fan of them.

Even a good NY style from a nice place?

I have some of the best of cooks in my family where i eat anything and everything they make. No on cheesecake, though.

Probably the only sweet I can honestly say I hate.

Even if it's not the consistency? I just don't like the taste.

If you dislike the cheesecake taste I'm at a loss

Maybe if you made it with Quark instead, or you can just do whipped cream & protein chilled pies

8oz of ice cream is a snack for a little girl, not a growing man.

I have been dieting for a few months now.
I still enjoy my pint of ice cream every week, and have had no problems :)
just making some food porn and recipes for USP labs . thats all.

The rest of my meals are all whole food. I try to limit whey as much as possible.

Prefer whole foods over whey. About 80% of my protein intake is whole foods. Whey bloats me if i take in too much and its not satisfying (especially in a deficit) where satiety and volume are more of a priority for myself.

Protein ice cream doesn't satisfy you? What's wrong with you?

This guy likes all Ice Cream

Whether I'm purely for my tastebuds or for my recovery with style, it's a treat

Sure and a full fat burger tastes better than a turkey burger but to say a turkey burger isn't satisfying is blasphemy IMO

Satiety of whole foods >> Whey in any form.
That is my point.

300 kcals of veggies and a protein source compared to 300 kcals of milk, whey, and some cocoa powder
Night and day difference.

go make some protein ice cream with six star whey, or on whey, then tell me protein ice cream is satisfying. You will most likely gag that back up.
