Cooking with whey

Muscle Research Chocolate Thin Mint Yo Whey protein + CarbMaster Choclate milk topped with 2 spploonfuls of WF Marshmallow Dip

3.75g Fat
35g Carbs
47g Protein

375 calories

This was 1.5 cups of milk and 1.5 scoops of protein, so it was a very large bowl and obviously more cals because of that (1:1 would have been 250 cals and plenty to eat). The WF Marshmallow Dip was the perfect complement to this -- so good all around.

My first attempt with the ice cream maker last night was Select SD and CM vanilla milk. It was good, but this is GOOD. Again, more carbs this route, but still a low cal option that's easy to work in.

I think I'm gonna try some more proteins next month (thinking Trutein since its been ages; not sure what else to grab that would be good for ice cream). But this is an instant favorite.

Trutein never.
Grab some XF 2.0 Cinnamon Roll, LCP, Mocha, Butterscotch
Beverly CnC
Metabolic Nutrition PB Cookie

^^ Good flavors.

Out of curiosity, why not Trutein? Just consistency? Last time I had the chocolate peanut butter I loved it (same with the chocolate covered strawberry).

And the Beverly -- UMP?

What about any of the Dymatize proteins? Lots of good sounding flavors and I know people at least used to buy a lot of those because of the cost.

He has a personal vendetta against their owner haha... seriously.

From everyone else's perspective, their flavors are great. I have about 4 I think (shamrock, mocha caramel - havent tried yet, lemon meringue, pb marshamllow cookie) and they're all stellar. Love the consistency due to the blend too. They make great ice cream.

I've had a few dymatize in the past and some are hit or miss on strength of flavor. All the flavors are good, but some are just weaker. The casein cinn bun IMO is the best.

I'm having fun with finding things to mix in or add on top to some of these. Obviously chocolate chips and things like that will add cals and in excess negate the benefits of making your own ice cream, but adding little things to improve taste or make it seem like more of a treat make it easier to avoid going off the rails on other things. So I'm having fun brainstorming on making more unique frozen treats.

I'll post photos as I come up with good ones lol. The thin mint one is amazing. Carbs are obviously higher, but still well worth it for the cal total and how much protein is in there, IMO.

I agree with the trutein. I really wish they would bring back the chocolate covered strawberry. It was one of my favorite all time flavors.. Peanut butter cup was stellar as well.

You can't go wrong with dymatize protein either.. Especially if you follow priceplow.. I just grabbed a gourmet chocolate ISO-100 Amazon prime a couple weeks ago for like $13 shipped.. Not bad for an isolate. Just had a sample of the bday cake from a buddy was well that was pretty good. They're clean as far as being tested and whatnot with all the riots and such going on in the protein industry

Google trutein o ring and QC issues
Google trutein owner going to jail
Plenty of things with their customer service and issues in the past. Very sketchy and they got rid of all their reps on another board

Again not a fan.
Beverly is UMP it's delicious

Dymatize also failed label claims twice is the past but seems to have tried to clear up the issues

I heard the ISO cinnamon and bday cake are great. The blend they have (XT has a good dose of soy protein) which scares some people away

I would rather buy select than trutein . Cheaper and a company that is legit 3rd party tested and true to the label

But again to each their own

I wasn't that impressed by the Beverly UMP flavors.. CnC is good- but not anything compared to Giant sports CnC (I know about the label claims, but their flavoring was top notch is all I'm saying)

Metabolic nutrition PB cookie is good, however the butter pecan cookie is BOMB!

I agree with your main point overall

SELECT > all

Don't get me wrong, I love Select and PES as a whole. But from what I remember (been a couple years in between) Trutein choc PB beat out Select from a flavor standpoint. I'd have to try again to verify.

the major difference is slect only has like 7 flavors while trutein has like 20 ha.

Well giant sports was what like half the protein it claimed?
Fillers are cheap and flavoring does not cost too much. pure Raws are a bit more expensive for protein

That's why they were making bank and it tastes great without meeting claims

See check out 2.0 very good tasting (LCP, Mocha, Butterscotch, Cinnamon Roll)
Metabolic PB cookie a bit expensive but great , Their chocolate cake is very rich, their banana and strawberry are also good.
Rocky road my UMP not bad either
Old school Myofusion Banana was incredible. RIP to usp banana which was solid.
Protogen CnC is very good if you want a CNC based flavor.

Don't speak for everyone on the flavoring of Trutein!

I tried cinnamon roll and smores, they were both very bland. The cinnamon roll was beyond chalky too.

for 1000 calories I am going for a full fledged premium ice cream pint with a shake on the side lol

We have ice team but the carbs wouldn't have fit my macro needs. Ended up at butter to this on top of the PB.

Do you have a recommended low carb premium brand?

A steak maybe

Gotta hit those protein macros!
Ice cream is a tasty way to do it

Steak would be great. Went through all the freezers looking for something to up dinner calories and only had 90/10 beef and sausage. Went with sausage because I can thaw it quicker.

SD Select is in my top 5 flavours but the others would not crack a top 20 for me.

Trutein has great flavour and texture IMO. The only one I didn't love was bday cake (only used as sludge tho). The LMP is top notch!

MSI has some great flavours (OCC, Lean Charms & Apple Jacked- one of the best IMO).

A few MTS are worth the grab (KLP, Pumpkin, Bday, etc)

any of you bro's ever tried any of the HIT core athlete flavors? Pound cake, carrot cake, waffles/syrup, white choc, blueberry pomegranate, pumpkin spice?

Nope, but looks like online shopping time.

Which is best reviewed? Do we know?

Carrot cake or white chocolate for me, pumpkin spice is really easy to make myself in a number of powders so I'd pass unless it's stellar

The pound cake looks to have a unanimous decision on its greatness

ya pound cake, pumpkin, and carrot seem to have unanimously glowing reviews... and all sound amazing to me ha.

There is a carrot cake guest feature there,

That one above us one of the oldest photos on my phone, didn't write the recipe

Musclesport flavors are on damn point too. Their s'mores flavor is the best snores flavor I've ever had and the oatmeal cookie taste like an oatmeal cream pie. Literally has the exact same taste and distinct cream center filling taste to go with the oatmeal. A local shop here carries all of the flavors in a 2lb and a great price so I've had them all... Didn't care as much for Apple jacked or lean charms. Don't get me wrong they taste exactly like the cereal flavors and I mean exactly but just not what I personally like in my shakes. The lean charms has marshmallows in the tub which is pretty badass

FINAFLEX Chocolate Coated Frosted Churro Cake

Keto friendly! I'm VERY happy with this one.

At 4 servings a cake/loaf:

Calories: 172

Protein: 13g
Carbs: 3g net (2 fibrous grams)
Fat: 11g

Sugar: 1g (0 added)

I could've made the icing heavier but I really just wanted a bread/cake like mix more than a sweet mix. It hit the spot.
