Classic Kleen - The Road To Competition Fall 2024

Are you supplementing any magnesium?
I just ran out of ZMA, waiting for PRIME Day to reup to see if any good discounts. He did recommend adding in some fiber which will definitely help and should help with cholesterol too. I am sire between that and getting the ZMA back on board things will get better. I imagine I am drying out a bit from the clen.

Scale weight up to 198.8 today, just doesn't want to come down. I have to be leaning up, it is impossible for me not too, but the scale just doesn't want to move. We are at 3 weeks 5 days out right now with 11.8lbs to drop. So I asked him how confident he was in hitting the 187 by the 10th. I really don't want to drop the $150 registration, and or 140 on a couple pair of classic posers then not even make weight or something. As much as I am willing to sacrifice budget for another better chance of going pro, I don't have money to spend on things I might not even get to use. So I asked him for reassurance and to explain the plan to get me to make weight so I can understand and be on board instead of this being a point of stress for me.

I promise you that can be dehydrated off in 24 hours if you are willing to fast from all food/fluid and willing to spend some time in a hot epsom bath or sauna in the last 12-16 hours out.

Yeah, I know we can do things like that, just not sure what his plans are, and want to hear a detailed breakdown of how he intends to get me there. Only having one meal to fill back up after some trickery like that could be good or disastrous. It is hard to know what we might do, but I know I want to be let in on the plan, so I can relax and not stress. I already had to eat 150 on the last show we had to move and I simply cannot afford to buy things for classic and then not compete in classic. Plus I need to know how far out we need to be for a epsom salt bath if we need to do something like that, so I know when to schedule my tan and everything so just need a bit more information. He has been competing himself the last 2 weeks but I think he is done until next month. He took the super heavies in his last 2 shows. Pretty excited knowing he will be in the back with me both of us competing at the nationals.

It’s catching lightning in a bottle. It’s voodoo, it’s luck, it’s timing. Coach is the professional. Plus having him back stage w you means you have a hype man!!!

You could even ask him to comp you the fee out of his fee if you don’t get to do it. So you will stay signed up but if he doesn’t get you in it then he credits your coaching cost.

DUDE! Still phenomenal how much improvement we see in such short time periods, you're killing it!

Oh yeah, cardio last night was a bust, my knee just wasn't having it. So I cut 300 calories off of my day to make up for the 2nd half of cardio. Not ideal but making it to where I can't train or do cardio for a few days isn't an option. Rest and adjust, that is the approach for right now. I may increase my curcumin around training to keep my lower back and knees feeling okay at least for a couple days.

I've been thinking about this a lot. If rowing isn't an option or bugs the knee, maybe a ski erg would be better for upper use (mostly) cardio?

No doubt, yeah having him backstage at nationals is going to be great. The first show he will be helping me remote. So looking at me over Telegram or WhatsApp video call. Should be interesting.

That makes a lot of sense. Going to see how he responds to me initially and then probably tell him if we are doing this he needs to be on the line for the expenses if we do not hit the weight cut off, that I can't afford to take that loss if we don't hit the mark. If he doesn't want to agree to that then I would definitely wait to sign up for it until I made weight, and just buy a super cheap set of posers for the first show. All of that being said, I have a feeling he will be able to reassure me once he tells me the plan.

Thank you Sir! He hasn't said that rowing wasn't an option, however it sure does beat my elbows up at times. Still might be worth it if I am unable to do cardio other ways. I have been able to get my cardio done as prescribed the last few days so I am happy with that. Hopefully that trend will keep up. Heading down to the gym here shortly to do cardio actually. Hopefully things go well, and I am able to just do things as prescribed. I will definitely keep the rowing as an option if I can't manage the elliptical or treadmill.

Yeah I have really liked the rowing as a "lower" impact cardio source while I have been healing up that left foot (which appears to maybe be 100% healed). The #1 issue with rowers though is the feet are always too narrow for your balls. I have some of those gym shorts with the built in briefs and they suck for rowing. definitely need the extra boxer briefs to keep things in place.

I actually hated the ski erg back when it was new in our old xfit box, but looking back, it definitely adds some solid variety.

Just my thoughts but 3 weeks 5 days and 11.8 pounds you are going to drop that and be just fine man. Don’t get to stressed about it if you can help it!

Yeah, it honestly isn't too stressful so much as needing to know if I should spend this extra money. Decent trunks aren't cheap at all but I am not sweating whether I only do one or both at this point. As long as I am taking a good package to the stage I feel confident I will do well. I am a few pounds away from looking much different so getting excited. About to drop almost 300 on 2 sets of posing trunks per class. OUCH! It all adds up so fast!

That much for such little fabric Wow

Yeah the classic are 72.99 a pop and the bodybuilding ones are 69.99 each. So it is right around 284 for 2 of each. I only had one pair last time and my tan stained the crap out of my posers so when I went back on stage for the night show it looked like I crapped my pants from all the tan dying my trunks. Definitely not dealing with that again. Of course you know once something becomes a specialty item a simple pair of underwear becomes 72.99 a pop.

Supply and demand. Capitalism, who knew?🤷‍♂️

Alright, so I have some great news!!! I was unaware of this but coach just told me we don't have to qualify for both Bodybuilding and Classic for me to do Classic at the Nationals. As long as I have competed in a class then I am qualified. So I don't have to make weight for classic for the show on the 10th. I don't even have to do classic at that show at all. Which if I am not required to then I will wait and do it in the Nationals, save myself some money, time and stress. So basically on the 10th, I will only be doing bodybuilding, and then for Nationals I will still be able to compete in both! Now I really have nothing to lose here. Just excited.

Also, not sure if I mentioned but we finally started working on my actual routine. I have the first 4 poses and transistions I have to work on every day. Get those to where they are automatic and easy. That should cover basically the first half of the 60 second routine. He gave me a new pose and I am not sure if I am doing it right or not. He didn't send me a snap shot of me in it when I was perfect so I can only try to go from memory.

Here are some pics from this mornings check in. Abs are getting crazy deep in flexed shots, legs are much easier to get to pop now that I know the trick, still working on hand placement for front and rear lat spread so i can get them back but fully popped. It is hard because my arms are so long if I do the traditional pushing my waist in thing I end up in a shoulder lock that chicken wings my back and takes all the width out of it when I try to stand tall. Things are definitely coming along. Each set of shots I look closer and closer to stage ready. Loving the changes!!!!

I don't know man, you look perfectly on schedule, things are looking really really good from this perspective!! One of the things that always stand out to me as athletes approach peak conditioning is arm size and you look like you're holding fantastic mass in the biceps. Have you taken any measurements there? I'd be curious to see where they are cause they look great on your build!

Thanks, yeah now that I know I don't need to make weight I am feeling comfortable in my skin and not at all bothered with the lack of scale movement. I am obviously getting leaner with every check in. A peak week from my current condition now would still have me looking pretty impressive on stage, and we have 3 more weeks of fat loss. I should be so lean by then everything is just popping like crazy.

If I were to guess my arms are probably somewhere around 17-17.5 cold and flexed right now. I was right at 18.5 with a pump at the peak of my bulk at 222. If I remember tonight, I will check just for shits and giggles.

Other changes to approach:

Meal Plan
- calories dropped to 1527 from 1698
Gear - Masteron bumped from 525mg up to 700mg weekly starting tomorrow.
Cardio - Cardio decreased from 50 minutes 6 times a week to 40 minutes 5 times a week. I think this is a blessing here and will really help with lower back issues. I don't mind the lower calories but the extra fatigue on my back from so much cardio was getting hard to balance.

I feel your front double bicep is your weakest shot in the pictures you just posted, and it still looks pretty great to me. I mean every pose and the condition & size you’re presenting in them - you just truly look like a bodybuilder ready for the stage. The apparent density & detail of the muscle is also really cool.

I know I’m just a casual, but for what it’s worth, after all the years of muscle mags, time training in gyms, meets, shows at expo’s & international level strength competitions - you definitely look like you belong in the posing briefs now.

Thanks @Hyde! I would put your knowledge of BB a little more than the casual observer. I go back and forth with the FDB too, part of me thinks with as good as my abs are they should be flexed, the other part wants more of a vacuum look but right now I am somewhere in between a vacuum and just raising my chest up high. If I can get my vacuum up to specs by show time I think it will make that pose shine but either way as you mentioned it still looks pretty damn good.

I just scheduled my tanning and stuff for the first show, got the exfoliating scrub, tan remover, and tanning deodorant on the way. Really wrapping things up for this so all preparations are squared away. Checking with my cousin to see if we can stay with him, he lives about 30 minutes from the venue, if not then I will rent 2 rooms at the hotel one for me and the wife and one for the kids. Hoping we can stay at my cousins and save a little money though.

I didn’t get updates for a few days, and man I come back in here and it really is crazy the day to day and week to week changes. You are getting absolutely shredded, and your separation on quads, abs and arms are excellent. Posing is on point as well, and I know you have some tweaking you want to do, but you’re really going into this show looking peak.🏆

Great news, my cousin said we could stay there, it is 20 minutes from the venue so we get to save a little money there. Things are coming together quickly.

Thanks @gphagan1 I am really getting excited seeing more changes every day. Definitely starting to get into the ripped territory and headed to shredded!

Good god Kleen, your new avi pic is frightening me.
Thanks, I thought it was a pretty cool shot!
I know, he’s looking like a serious bodybuilder in that shot….hey, by this time next year we can say we know a pro.💪
Wouldn't that be cool, probably cooler for me than you though! ;)

Some great news, between the recent diet changes, and adding in 3 servings of psyllium husk with my evening meal I have dropped some serious weight and kept it off. I am now sitting at 193.4 and this is day 2 in the 193's. Things definitely tightend up a bit with that drop. My gyno / psuedogyno fat is so close to being gone, or gone enough not to be too much of a detraction from my physique. We will see how much more it goes down over the next 3 weeks, but if it keeps up the recent pace their won't be much fat if at all, and what looks like minimal actual tissue. Definitely not an OMG look at his gyno situation. Loose skin is an issue in some shots but it is getting so thin now it really doesn't matter too much.

Oh yeah, @Hyde you mentioned if my glutes were coming in, not sure how they are doing back there now but my ass fell off with these last couple of lbs and now I have old man skin on my ass. LOL I am sure it will tighten up but the sudden loss loosened the skin up back there. Not too sure how it will look come show time if the skin is loose. Also this first show is a 45-54 age bracket so will have to be up there against some younger guys too. Might make things a little more competitive but that's okay.

Posing - I have been working on going through my posing routine in between sets, not going nuts on flexing hard just trying to transition from one pose the the next with some semblance of style. I kind of have that down in my mind already, coach said that will be about half the routine already so we add another 4 shots this coming week and then work on the routine regularly.

I also manscaped and boy did that make a bit of a difference in how I look. Definition and separation in chest immediately jumped out, abs also showing better, and legs vascularity is honestly starting to get pretty ridiculous. I have veins all over my legs now, not just limited to quads and calves. I also have some veins running through my abs, and obliques on top of noticing some on my upper back too. So all in all condition is really starting to come in. We aren't quite there yet but definitely looking the part!

Pretty soon your veins will have veins!!! Your dedication is where it’s at Brother!!!

Yeah, I think I will have that perfect range of vascularity where it is impressive, but any more might start looking disgusting in some areas.

Oh yeah, wanted to share a couple good deals I picked up at supplementhunt.com - If you don't mind soon to be or very recently expired products supplement hunt is a great way to get them on for a steep discount.

I just ordered 3 of these, nice recovery drink with whey isolate, HBCD, and dextrose in it. Not bad at all for 19.99 a pop. Peanut Brittle as a flavor, that has to be fire, or at least decent. LOL

They also have a bad ass deal on Bucked Up WOKE AF they have 100 single packets for 39.99 that is a hell of a deal for a pretty well stacked high stim preworkout. I got some EAA's and a few other things on the way as well.

That’s a pretty sweet deal, pulled the trigger on both the Brittle and the Woke AF deals.

“Dendrobium extract”/PEA variants are a great stim for heavy lifting IME; produces a lot of euphoria and always had bigger lifts on it. I still have a final open bottle of Chaos & Pain’s old capsules that I toss in from time to time. I know it’s not just in my own head, because every time I put one into my wife’s preWO stack, like if she had a heavy deadlift day, she has reported having a stellar day.

I think the current Woke AF replaced it with some stupid like Yohimbine.

Yeah, they don't always have good stuff there but if you check regularly you will find some amazing deals. I was going to get the WOKE AF myself but I just got 4 tubs of Pump Addict for the 4rth of July sale. I did get 2 of the Rival Nutrition Ignition preworkout, it looked pretty loaded for 4.99 a tub, so I grabbed 2 just to have them. Here is the whole haul I grabbed this time.

You know they say, and this isn’t a joke, that people have a greater tendency to shop and overspend money when deep in prep - and you don’t want to make serious financial decisions then generally either.

Just a heads up

Yeah trust me, I could feel the desire to get one of everything and it took a lot of self control not to get the Bucked Up WOKE AF.My brain just kept trying to justify that it was such a good deal, but I didn't need it. I needed EAA's and hydration drinks for my intra workout session, and the recovery drink was just too good a deal not to get and have available for when I start adding calories back in. I figured the rivalus preworkout which looks pretty legit was a good deal at 4.99 so I picked it up to have something to rotate in and out in between the Pump Addict servings.

It does feel like I have ordered a lot recently with me restocking on protein, all my SNS supports, and then the order we are discussing but I think I kept it pretty responsible. I will definitely keep this fact in mind going forward though, I was not aware of the phenomenon.

I was feeling dehydrated last night. and couldn't sleep at all. Not sure if it was a side from tren, or just my preworkout lasting longer than usual. Either way I was feeling so dehydrated I got up and got me some salt and salt substitute on a spoon and down the hatch with a few glasses of water. Woke up pretty full and tight.

7-20-24 Fasted Weight 196.6 - Last 2 days 193.7 and 193.4lbs.

Here are some shots, @Hyde you asked about glutes, they are coming in but I need to learn how to make them pop better. Sometimes I can make them ripple into striated knots and other times they want to smooth out. Also as mentioned I have a bity of old man ass now that most of the fat came off the skin is just a bit loose and saggy. Hope it tightens up decently, but in 3 more weeks those glute should be very visible.

I suspect between a few more weeks dieting and especially the tan, the skin will be a bit less noticeable. Also, consider for your age bracket the judges will be used to that to a degree - so I wonder if it might not be scored as harshly? Or if so, consider you probably won’t be the only competitor losing points for it. So not a huge deal.

These are kind of my thoughts too. I imagine it will shrink up a bit, it just shrunk so suddenly the last few lbs that the skin has some catching up to do. However as you said, it will be the masters 45-55 in this contest so a good chance I won't be the only one with a little bit of sagging skin. So long as I get lean enough to show the goods I ain't too worried about it. My condition should be a bigger focus than skin tone. I think 3 weeks from now I should be lean enough it doesn't matter if the skin it loose you will still see the glutes.

Getting that “grainy” look to your skin. Coming together nicely. Now all you need is an entourage. We should all fly down for Masters. I’d need some synthol and “Duck Eggs” but you’d look like Piana and his crew parting the sea at an expo.

Wow really tightening up and lots of definition coming through. I would imagine skin is going to shrink up by go time. Also I think with the tan some of it will not show as much (if there is any) awesome progress!

Holy **** — you said you wanted to be an impressive 50 year old as I recall — mission accomplished, dude! This is some metamorphosis in a couple years. Boy am I jealy!

I was told they wont deduct for skin, it's only considered if all other things were equal. This is coming from a guy who's late 60's still competing. I worked with him on a few union jobs a while back and this was one of the first things he brought up on judging

Also @MrKleen73 your progress pics are significantly better skin then the masters photos I saw from his show. You would have cleaned up that show with a water cut and a tan

Hey Jinxie! Welcome back brother, long time no see! Yeah, I wasn't going to let that stupid shoulder tearing that year stop me from doing my show when I turned 50. I just had to delay it by a year to get ready after I got my shoulder fixed. Very happy I was able to recover well enough to train hard and rebuild some lost muscle tissue.

Yeah, this was basically my thought process, they should know that in a 45-55 that anyone over 50 might be sporting some less than highly elastic skin. Mine really isn't too bad and can really be hidden with some posing adjustments for the most part. I just thought it was hilarious when I saw my old man ass in the pics.
Also @MrKleen73 your progress pics are significantly better skin then the masters photos I saw from his show. You would have cleaned up that show with a water cut and a tan
Thats awesome, I am hoping to be in that same boat with my competition. Nice water cut for peak week then peak into something nice and impressive.
Looking solid. In 3 weeks you are going to look great. Sitting really well.
Thanks Bud!

Rough day today, woke up and my gut is distended and unhappy. I have been taking my fiber at night but yesterday the fiber didn't push out so today after 2 days of fiber without a big movement I am distended, holding water, and suffering a bit of an upset stomach. Really just trying to make it through the day. Hoping it gets better sooner than later. Hoping to just push all of this out and be good to go after.

Are you on any gh? I cant remember
No, I didn't have money for any GH. It probably would have helped some with the skin stuff.

Just got the word back today after my check in, time to add in the Winny at 50mg a day. Things should kick up another notch here with the addition of that.

We are also discussing the possible use of dyazide. He has been doing a lot of research on it, and working with his coach to nail down the process. So we are possibly going to look into having some on hand for the night of the load, and possibly show day to help with water. I wasn't really planning on using a duiretic but if it is responsible use, and he feels confident this will get me my best look then I am okay with it. He said basically they intentionally spilled him over with the refeed night before then took 1/4 dyazide, then in the AM he had another with the first carb meal there as well. I am really looking forward to how this all works out. I can't wait to see the final package at the end of all of this. If it just happens to be what is needed to get my pro card then awesome. If not, no big deal, I more than anything just want to be on stage with a very impressive physique. As long as I show up in the best conditioning I can, and did everything to the best of my abilities I will walk away a winner with a lot of great pics to show for all of my effort, hard work and discipline. Plus simply knowing I was able to push through something this challenging again.

I am officially just surviving at this point. Every day is very similar, I get up, muster the energy to start my day, then spend the rest of the day mustering energy for everything I have to do. Every time I get up out of a chair at this point I have to talk myself into doing it. For anyone who has done long term fasting, I feel like I have been on my 100th hour of fasting for the last couple of weeks at 1500 calories. Just dead and trying to make it to the next time I get to rest my head. Most of my downtime is literally me lying down, or sitting collapsed on the couch not really moving much at all.

@Hyde, even the ECA stack I have from you I think it was Black Mamba or something, well even it is not even pushing through the exhaustion. As surprising as that is. I only add it here and there when I am just toasted, but am surprised how minimal the lift is from it. Only so much the CNS can do with limited fuel.

I know what you mean; it’s usually on that 5th day right around that 100 hour mark where the wheels really fall off and you absolutely struggle to just get up; mustering energy is a very accurate terminology. I can’t imagine doing withstanding that daily, but I know you know this is what your goal takes. It’s good your children are grown!

Yep, and day in and day out is just a challenge. I am now taking my lunches to get as close to a nap as possible. Saving all my energy up for one long session of lifting and cardio. Breaking them up into 2 sessions has actually proven harder for me so going to stick with this way. Allows me to put all my stimulants in one basket for the day to get the job done. Once I exhaust myself once a day in this condition recovery for training later is damn near impossible. It takes me a couple of minutes to get out of my car every time now. I just don't want to move, the thought of getting up just sounds damn near impossible and I have to talk myself into it.

Yeah I agree, it is a damn good thing my kids are grown. It is also good that they see me dragging my ass through this and reminding them I made this choice, and I will get through this challenge. Not me feeling sorry for myself about my energy levels or sacrifices I am making. Telling them to just enjoy their meals when I have to pass on food like at my sons Birthday dinner on Sunday. I think it is good for them to see me going through it and not giving up.

I really like that last statement, because they see the sacrifice that you’re willing to go through to reach your goals, and no goal is obtained without sacrifice. A couple of years ago on Father’s Day, my grown kids told me they always appreciated the love, time and teaching I gave them, but now as adults the biggest thing is my life was an example to them of being dedicated, working hard, overcoming, and showing love to others. Man that means more than anything they could have ever given me. Oh, and as far as your skin, from one old dude to another, I think you’re doing great, and as already said in a few more weeks and a tan, you’ll be looking like a young buck. I know you don’t have the money now, but Smont is right GH really does have amazing benefits for the skin.

Yeah, I wish I could swing 2IU daily, it would go a long way. Not really crazy for anabolic activity but joints and skin health would be far better. Also I agree, hopefully this is setting a positive example for them.

What BF% do you think you're at currently @MrKleen73 ?
Honestly, I have no clue, anywhere from 8-15%. LMAO. I am ridiculously lean in some areas and holding some fat in others. I won't even hazard a real guess.
Looking great for 3 weeks out, but gawd damn are you white.
Which is funny because I am actually not that white. People actually ask me why I am so dark right now. I think the lighting in that room is just completely over the top and washes the color out. I do need to step up my visits to the tanning bed though. Only 2.5 weeks out now for the first show. It just rushes right up on you.

Some shots from this mornings check in Fasted Weight 195.4 lbs
