cissus and strength

Been taking cissus (Super Cissus bulk from NP) for about 45 days now, dosing between 2-3 grams ed. I wanted to see if would help my wrist and shoulder (had shoulder surgery about 6 months ago). Anyway, I would say my wrist and shoulder pain have improved by ~40% since I started taking it - which I'm happy with. I'm even happier in what I would say is a noticeable increase in my strength - specifically my bench press - which was totally unexpected. I noticed this around the 30 day mark, when I was able to get 225 for 6 reps, when I normally only get 3-4 reps. Of course, there's no way to know for sure if it's the cissus, but that's the only new supp I've added in lately, so who knows.

Has anyone around here ever experienced an increase in strength that they feel is attributable to cissus?

i believe that cissus has some anabolic activity, i think that natadrol contains some of it for its anabolic activity

Agreed, cissus is mildly anabolic. Go try Blue Gene: a nice dose of cissus, carnitine, icariin, grape seed, , and a lot more.

Oddly enough, I didn't get the same effects even at 3 gms daily.

My results were kind of subpar.
The usp version showed solid effects though.

I disagree. Cissus is anti-cortisol, and too much cortisol is catabolic. That alone makes cissus somewhat anabolic. I believe there's more to it than that, but I don't have a theory for what it might be.

I vote more along with improve of injury/post surgery.
How long have you been out wince the surgery? 2,3,4 months? What are you basing off of, pre surgery reps:weight? If its just after surgery then it's due to healing i think.

I also think cissus itself isn't anabolic but allows the hormones in your body to properly function to do cortisol being suppresed a bit. Studies on this would be nice.

So we're suggesting in this thread that Cissus has anabolic/anti-cortisol affects that can seriously increase strength?

isnt clen anit catabolic?
that der clen jacked up my strength while cutting

I stated in another post that i do feel better while taking cissus. My job dictates that I move alot of heavy stuff almost all day long. I have to climb to the top of 12' tanks on vertical ladders so many times that it seems like it's an official workout! My point; the last week or so, I have noticed a little difference in my body structure. Nothing dramatic, but it's noticeable to me. I don't know about a strength increase or anything. Perhaps since my joints don't hurt as much, I am able to move around better and work has become exercise and not just work lately? Or perhaps there is a slight anabolic action going on. or both.

Well i ****ed up my shoulder since this thread and ordered some cissus from USP, i hope it does more than i expect! I've never used to before.

Has anyone tried Osteo-Sport? It looks like a promising supplement to say the least.

I'm currently working through impingement. I would start here for long term recovery and health.

Cissus has never done anything for my strength, but the USP brand definately did help my chronic shoulder problems. When i used other brands cissus, i had no such effects (i tried two different brands). However, with all brands i definately notice a positive change in body composition. A mild change, but a change none the less.

I noticed in the NP add for the Super Cissus flash sale that USP advertises it as " Scientifically proven more powerful anti-catabolic properties than Deca & D-Bol - Preserve muscle mass better than any natural substance!".

When I inquired about this scientifically proven aspect I was ignored. Anyone know of the study? I couldn't find it in my google scholar search?

Likley some obscure indian journal that will probably not be printed in english even if you can find it. And i suspect it will be in relation to bone metabolism and not muscle, but i could be wrong.

Hmmmm. Yeah I figured it sounded too good to be true. I mean everyone would jump right on this if it could preserve muscle mass like AAS on a cut. I'll still be using mine just not for that purpose.

I agree that it must be due at least partially to the recovered injury. Having had my fair share of injuries, I have invariably experienced pretty rapid strength gains after recovering from one.

Jacob has posted a scan of the study up here before, and I've seen it. Should still be up if you look hard enough.
