Will he ever let the black dude thing go?!?! Not even near death...my God.[ CL: ] Why didn't you call 911?
CC: Men and people like me don't like going to the hospital!
[ CL: ] What happened next?
CC: I called a friend and told him to come home, that I couldn't move and had to pee so bad I was like "SH!T!" I am gonna have to pee on myself! I was trippin!" He finally came and called 911. What do you know, the police showed up before the ambulance. They come and want to check out the scene like some violent crime went down.
I'm like the only black guy I saw in this whole area and they were probably like "What the hell is the black dude up to?" The ambulance finally arrived and there were two women and one small man trying to lift me onto this little @ss board. The cop acted like he wasn't going to do anything, then he finally helped.
Why let it go when it surrounds us everyday of our lives?:think:Jayhawkk said:While I think some people play the race card I don't think it's enough to automatically think all people do it.
Why let it go when it surrounds us everyday of our lives?
I ask that question about people all the time but moreso about the ones who won't let racism go.
I've seen enough racism from my own eyes that I can't imagine what it would be like on the receiving end, all my life.

In addition, I come from a very diverse group of friends. In fact, In my closest 15 friends, about 5 of them are white! I know some parts of the world are very discriminatory, but its not everyone everywhere. Where we live, about 85% white (just so happened that my group of friends ended up this way) none of them have any complaints of racism against them in their entire lives! Now, I do know a vietnamese family who got it pretty bad in San Jose, CA as far as racism is concerned, but its "where" moreso than a simple existance. And, I'd go so far as to say that the vast majority of people in America would not go out of their way to discriminate against anyone else, but I understand it does happen.
The reason I get so upset about Cormier is because everywhere he goes, everyeone he talks to, he thinks they all hate him because he's black. He's ridiculous. E.G. Just recently when Lee Priest beat him in Lee's homeland, instead of realizing the simple truth that Lee's a highly favored contestant in Australia, he has to call the judges a buch of racist as$holes. Funny it never seemed to stop Lee Haney, Ronnie Coleman, Sergio Oliva, etc from winning their titles. He just likes to ***** and complain and stir trouble.
He's continually screwed over in events and in life because he's a jerk, not because he's black.
Well, I was referncing Chris Cormier. He's a total paranoid as$hole. Great physique and great potential though.Jayhawkk said:I was posting a general statement vs. just Chris. I never followed his career since I wasn't really ever a fan.

Gotcha. I wouldn't understand...But just to let ya know. I wasn't always a cop and I have been in jail and I still didn't get it.
Big menacing dude is one thing. He says its because he's a black dude. Its about attitude and self presentation.B4n3 0n3 said:It is one of those things if you have to ask you will never know. But I will break it down for you anyway. He can't call the cops because when you look like a big menacing dude cops don't give you the benefit of the doubt like they would an old lady.
That's almost a legitimate reason. But, his house isn't going to get searched because he was in horrible pain! An ambulance was called b/c he couldn't freggin' walk. The cops aren't going to run through his cupboards looking for ways to bust him...hell, they can't!Plus since he is a bodybuilder he most likely has illeagle drugs(steroids) around so he don't want to go to jail because in jail it's not a game.

Having spent the past few years in the gym, I know plenty of big guys. Plenty of big black guys, too. None of them have any problems because they don't look "menacing", despite their color.

I've had three relatives get out of prison this past year. I know it shouldn't be taken lightly. What I don't understand is the relevance of prison to Chris Cormier calling an ambulance. The parallel drawn there is one drawn of a paranoid dellusion at best.
Apowerz6 said:Well you know Apo had to say something about race. its just not that simple people Kywck I know you hate when people play the race card, but understand this as a black man its an everday thing. I am a man, and secondly I am black, and will never be any other race or etnicity. But understand he has to act a certain way because he will be deemed a threat, or an intruder. NO one of you have ever lived a day in the life of a black man, nor do you have to be on your p's and q's because you are black. You can be legit, and still be harrased, you can be rich, and still be black, and not recieve the same attention as other counterparts of other races. As long as people say their is no racism it will run rampant, and no will discuss it.
Kywck I understand that you have many races of friends, but understand not everyone is as open as you, and their are many different types of racism, sure, you can get the job, but you will never advance because you know he's black, and they cannot be president of the comapny. Why is it that their is NOT ONE BLACK MAJORITY OWNER of any sport team? Why is that Bill COsby could not have bought into CBS when they were in trouble financially? Certainly Blacks have come a long way, but please do not act like racism is not alive and running.
Truthfully I really think Chris was half playing, as we all know what DWB is driving while black, and please tell me that does not exist.
Lastly I wish Chris COrmier the best, but being a black man will always be a deciding factor and force in eveyday life in many lives, so before you belittle the racism in America, understand that the civil rights era was only 40 years ago. Which is a wisp in time.
PS look in last months Muscle and Fitness and see how many readers were appalled when a black man by the name of Leroy Colbert graced the cover of the Weider's magazine in the 50's, in which he was one of the first men to have over 20" arms...
I have never said that, and nobody in here is saying that bro. I understand that there is racism, white people experience it too believe it or not! I find it to be racist when people often assume I'm racist b/c I'm saying something that is not politically correct and white...happens every once in a whileApowerz6 said:As long as people say their is no racism it will run rampant, and no will discuss it.
I understnad this, but I didn't bring my multi-racial group of friends up to show my openness to racial diversity. I brought it up because,of my friends, I can't think of very many who say they've experienced what other people claim to be an every day occurence. My friends do, however, have one thing in common. Most of them have been described "by their peers" as "whitewashed". They speak, talk, and act like me...only their skin is different. Maybe that has something to do with it.Kywck I understand that you have many races of friends, but understand not everyone is as open as you,
Again, I never said that. Just that basically, its blown out of proportion and used as an excuse by many people. I understand it exists all over the world, even here in the good ole USA....but please do not act like racism is not alive and running.
50 years ago premarital sex was an egregious act. The way kids dress, the way they talk, the way they treat their parents (with disrespect)...these are all huge societal changes. This is because the people who made up the foundation of our society from the 50s are now mostly dead. With them went most of the values they held...some of which were passed on. Similarly, racism as a common belief amongst Americans in those times died with them. Yes, many family's roots in racism were too strong to die and their racist beliefs were passed on generation after generation until present day. But, in general, we are a completely different people today than we were 50 years ago here in America.PS look in last months Muscle and Fitness and see how many readers were appalled when a black man by the name of Leroy Colbert graced the cover of the Weider's magazine in the 50's, in which he was one of the first men to have over 20" arms...

) All I said is that racism tends to be blown out of proportion and that Chris Cormier is notorious for taking the race card too far too often.

Now, as I mentioned earlier, this may just be "my area". I understnad that different locations can be more or less accepting of other races. I do have plenty of family in the south-east.
Again, I never said that. Just that basically, its blown out of proportion and used as an excuse by many people. I understand it exists all over the world, even here in the good ole USA.

To recap, I know racism exists, however I believe that most people view it as a very ignorant way of thinking. And, my personal feeling regarding racism are that it is blown out of proportion. However, I do feel that there is a culture-clash problem here and now. But, I am not quite liberal enough to say that cultural diversity is a "good thing" without evidence to back it up. I believe it creates divisions.
Maybe its the culture clash that's the problem in our society...but its definitely not racism.
Let me end with a logical statement.
80% of People X are of race 1 and of culture A
80% of People Y are of race 2 and of culture B
If culture A and culture B do not blend well, that DOES NOT mean that race is an issue. I think people are illogically confusing a culture clash with racial prejudice.
