But Mum, I want to be a little girrrrrrrl!...

Wow, this thread is really all over the place topically...

Edit: Jake, I understand that some trans-gendered people truly believe they are the opposite sex trapped in a wrong-gender body. The fact is, just because someone believes something, doesn't make it true.

There are aspects of our identities that we don't get to determine. If I truly believe I'm African American, does that make it a reality? No. I'm still of scandinavian descent, no matter what my brain may tell me. And that's easy to reaffirm with some simple genetic tests. Same with affirmation of sexual identity - not hard to spot a Y chrom or two X chroms.

It is this disconnect between reality and belief that I think is the issue.

Recent brain research is supporting their claims, actually.

The terms sex and gender are not interchangeable. Sex refers to biological status as male or female. It includes physical attributes such as sex chromosomes, gonads, sex hormones, internal reproductive structures, and external genitalia. Gender is a term that is often used to refer to ways that people act, interact, or feel about themselves, which are associated with boys/men and girls/women. While aspects of biological sex are the same across different cultures, aspects of gender may not be.

So, actually... you're right. There is a disconnect between reality and belief. You believe you're au courant and asserting science, when the reality is you're uninformed and less than empathetic.

Tis a sad world lol. But man..I will not be explaining to my kids what a drag queen is, other than an animal that needs shot but is never in season.

Zero, I usually give you the benefit of the doubt, because your posts indicate that you're young and still learning a lot about the world. But when it comes down to it... I'm talking bottom line here...

That transgendered kid is getting just as much pu$$y as you are!

Is this what you seriously think? Seriously?

No. Its a harsh joke. I have had gay friends, never a cross dresser though, but thats their perogative. I am redneck by nature so I make the jokes. Kinda like when you are out in the boonies saying "You got purty lips boy".

I am not hateful at all, just full of very dry sarcastic humor.

Like I said, it is just dry humor, but also the latter is true LOL. But hey when I am married its all good man. I aint missing anything. You dont have to get yum yum to be a man.

It is a weird thing to read about. I am wondering why it is so many issues are arising out of our bodies(increases in autism, other diseases, etc) it seems our genetic code is breaking down and falling apart. In a few generations it could be pretty bad.

Look, you may have something with autism, etc... because there's a ton of evidence to suggest that those conditions are environmentally influenced, but gender issues are as old as the human race. Some cultures are tolerant, and others... not so much. In the Western world, issues around gender and sexuality that are consider outside of "the norm" (whatever that means), have been treated as mental health disorders. Then again, so has masturbation. If that's the case, then we're all mental. Ironically enough, many hardcore Eastern societies have been much more broad-minded.

Our genetic codes aren't breaking down. They're evolving, my man.

or we could be entering a period of accelerated evolution to something new.

If by some chance if was "evolution" it is going in a negative direction. Maybe nature purging the most damaging parasite to ever exist?

Scientifically I "think" it is known that our genetics were of a much purer stock a couple thousand years ago. Inevitably with the world having such a small population(I am a creationist not an evolutionist, so I will avoid this debate, eh dsade? gets old :boggled:) that people often met their own genetics through arranged marriages and the fact that small villages didnt really have much choice.

Over time this causes genetic damage. Now add in all the chemicals and medicines of the modern day. Mental disorders once being a less common thing(though back in the day seen as witchcraft, or a curse, or other weird stuff) is becoming so common.

In the last 100 years the sheer amount of "advances" in science has introduced our bodies to radiation, and all kinds of new poisons. Think of cancer treatments and x-rays.

Point being, humans were at an era of a peak, and now we seem to be falling off that peak back downwards in a horrific spiral. Mutations, weaker immune systems with each generation, the rise of special needs classes in schools. Its running rampant.

And it will eventually cause extinction if it is an evolutionary perspective. Because with the way it looks, it seems more of a natural purging of one species to preserve the others. Without man, the world is in a balance, with man, we are like a parasite siphoning the very life force from the planet.

I mean either route, evolution, or creationism, our reign on this planet is meant to come to an end.

not wanting to fight either, but you just constructed a brick wallbarrier to communication and understanding of the issue.

That would render any more attempt to understand impossible.

Evolutionary change is demonstratable (resistant staph, etc.) and we are not apart from it.

You are also ascribing purpose where there is no evidence of such.

I couldn't disagree more. Keeping a small gene pool is exactly how a genetic breakdown occurs. Think inbreds in Arkansas (slightly kidding).

Well... uh, yeah. But it's not gonna happen by next Thursday. And it certainly has nothing to do with transgendered 12 year-olds.

No offense, but I can tell you've been bashed upside the head for years with the same fire and brimstone religious diatribe I was subjected to for the first 18 years of my life.
