Bulletproof MCT Coffee mixture?

Vacuum brewers work very nicely also. :) Although, similar to Percolators, slightly different. But I'm no coffee guru... lol

Haha you mean I can have a dyson brew my coffee? I never heard of that before, I'll to have to look into it. I used to take my french press camping with me until it broke one year, I still haven't replaced it yet.

Tried protein powder in coffee once. Ended up drinking gritty coffee because the protein powder wouldn't dissolve. :/

You have to be careful, if the coffee is too hot you'll end up cooking the whey and it gets pretty gross. Warm or iced coffee are good with whey especially if have a good flavored one. If you use unflavored like me then just add a little cinnamon and it'll be good :)

What is this for?

I like the input of higher minds than mine :D! Specially on something i'm not 100% certain of my knowledge to comment/speculate. However I did think that fats and coffee were good, since I read an old carb backloading article a long time ago. It recommended, however, coffee with heavy whipped cream? Anyhow, just wanted to see their thoughts, like I said, I learn from their higher minds ^_^!

For the price of a Dyson, it should brew coffee... Lol I've seen them called siphon/syphon pots too, I think. Check them out, pretty neat.

Interesting, I've been wanting to try this bulletproof coffee for awhile now since I seen him on Joe Rogans podcast... I may have to give this a try.

mmmmm.....was good.

Hell I just like it for the taste now...

That's enough from you! Haha
I'm gonna go to publix and get me some fancy butter and try it tomorow morning. With coconut oil though lol my supplement fund has just been dried up by my cycle I've got planned for in January

First thing that made me skeptical was his hyping of coffee toxin fears, when global production initiatives have been in place for a decade now that have reduced Ochratoxin A content of green coffee beans to a mere 1.3 ppb, further reduced by the roasting process.

If you eat ginger, raisins, or peanuts, you're probably consuming orders of magnitude more ochratoxin than you would from drinking a pot of typical coffee. Dietary consumption of ochratoxin has been extremely widely studied as a health concern.

Also, his coffee is pretty laughably expensive. You can get outstanding tasting Mayorga coffee for half the price.
Unsurprisingly, his MCT product is also laughably expensive, you can buy NOWs for around half the price.

Beyond the hype and shilling, yes combining stimulants with healthy fats will be a nice energy boost to start your day. Is this news?

Good news!

French press is the only way to go, IMO. Less oxidation than percolated. I'll have to try the butter/MCT sometime. Currently been using coconut milk and noticed the caffeine buzz is more sustained.

In the field, I use my french press travel mug. JetBoil and bam! awesome coffee in 2 minutes.

Your who what now? French press travel mug? Im gonna go see Google bishes haha

Well... I recall the way that the product has been marketed is that it's a MRP type product. So the idea is you replace your breakfast with it, I would assume that automatically cuts out a good amount of calories for most people per day if used in such a way which I would think leads to weight loss (you're cutting out a good number of calories on the daily after all).

Depends how much butter and coconut oil you use. Fat cals can add up QUICK. I think there is an added benefit of keeping insulin levels low due to the lack of carbs a normal breakfast would have.

Remember, MCTs convert to ketones. Ketones do not get reabsorbed as body fat and excess is excreted out via urine.

I tried it a few times so far and its not so bad... how big of a difference are we talking French press to normal? I picked up some Pete's K Cup coffee and added the butter and coconut oil to it... for coffee I liked it.

My only beef is he advertises as a cognitive boost. I noticed no cognitive benefits... if looking for a cup of Joe why not but for cognitive increases deff not. Is it the fact that I lack the French press?

For its the french press plus good coffee. There isnt a kcup out there that is good quality IMO....crap coffee....half of it is instant and you dont even know.

Yeah I swear those kcup things have coffee flavored saw dust in them lol... you can definitely tell the difference between a french press cup of coffee and one from the good ole faithful coffee maker on the counter lol

Does the grass fed butter really make a difference for the bulletproof coffee? Its not something I typically buy so I'm just curious what others think.

Curious about that too lol... is organic butter grass fed butter? Cause I couldn't find butter that said grass fed anyway

French press has quite a bit more flavor, imho. I also like drink drink smaller amounts of really strong coffee vs. a jumbo mug of regular. It's by far the favorite way I've tried.

I haven't noticed any cognitive differences, aside from the usual morning before & after coffee effect.

I haven't seen grass-fed butter either, one of the health food place (whole paycheck, etc) may have it. So far, just coconut oil has been good. I might try grass-fed butter if it's inexpensive enough - doubt it though

I wholly agree with you here. Friggin despise K-cup. Stuff is practically instant coffee IMHO. Worlds apart from getting roasted beans which are still fresh, grinding them, and then put them straight into a good coffee press.

Look for "Kerrygold" grass fed butter. It's available at every grocery store around here and ~$2 at Trader Joes.

No sh!t?... I have some of that in the fridge, never noticed its grass fed...

I think the only benefit of grass fed is on the health side. Shouldn't make a difference in your coffee.

This all sounds like a big scam though. I'll continue to enjoy my fresh WestCoastRoasting coffee, black, and have my Oh Yeah Victory bar with it as my fats. ;)

Nice, I have a trader joes not to far from me. Now I just need to figure what my next order from NP will be other than the MCT oil lol...

Kerry gold, unsalted. Do not get the normal kerry gold.

His coffee is really good.

It was the same price as the organic columbian I buy locally. Can you get cheaper coffee? Of course...but you can get more expensive as well. I'm not complaining about $3-4 dollars if I like the taste and quality.

I also believe my Two Hands Shiraz is better than an $9 bottle of Beringers.

His coffee is really good.

Ya I'm looking forward it tommorrow, got the press ready. Can't really complain about the price if the coffee is good than its worth it. Got the wife set up tommorrow she has to get up real early tommorrow, I want her opinion too about how the energy works for her.

Let us know!

This whole thread looks like a hype launch for Admin's new brand of buttered coffee lol. :)

Check the logs brah :)

Are you using mct over coconut oil? Seems most of what I have read in this thread, people are using coconut oil. I was just at Costco yesterday and picked up Carrington Farms pure unrefined cold pressed 100% organic extra virgin coconut oil, 54oz jar for $16. Best deal I have found

I'm using MCT oil. No taste to it....

Fresh ground Columbian coffee beans, french pressed, mixed with cream and topped with chocolate whipped cream.

Is this bulletproof?

I actually like the hint of coconut in my coffee/shakes, although I'm sure MCT is just as good of a choice. And Josh, that cup of Joe looks amazeballs!

Coffee was good, seemed like I had less jitters than with 2+ cups from a French press without the butter and MCT. heart rate was under 60 while taking it, stomach wasn't turning and coffee tatsted good. Wanna check with my wife how hers was.

I finally got the Kerrygold butter ($3 at the Trader Joes by me for a 1/2 pound. I made some of the coffee with MCT oil, butter and foldiers. I drank some about an hour ago and I do feel pretty good. I am going to hit the gym in a few hopefully it'll make a difference there.

This is interesting actually for a product. I really think that you should consider a few options other than this one too. It's good but there are products out there that are better. Please let me know if you are interested.
