Welcome bud. Thanks for catching up and joining in. This should be going for a while.

Catching up was fun. I saw some lifts/exercises today that I'd never seen before. Gotta try those horizontal presses, but like Classic, I'll be using 3lb DBs.

Glad you liked it man. Yeah, a lot of the exercises are fairly new to me as well. I've loved the majority of them and would recommend giving some a try. Haha I wouldn't worry about it. 3lbs is no joke with the horizontal presses.
 
I needed more calories after dinner tonight so made a batch of ice cream. It was fantastic :thumbsup:

Banana Nut Ice Cream
1 scoop XF UP banana
1 scoop SAN vanilla casein
1.5 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk (Trader Joes)
5.3oz organic fat free Greek yogurt (Trader Joes)
1 Banana Nut Muffin Quest Bar

Calories: 606
Protein: 83
Carbs: 26
Fat: 15

The taste and texture were both great, and the addition of a Quest Bar was brilliant lol. I broke it into little pieces, which were in every bite. This would probably be a good sized batch for 2 people, but I actually ate the whole thing immediately after my dinner :)

It turned out great. I originally wanted to make a cookie dough ice cream, but ate all the Quest Bars before getting around to it. I actually went to the 3 letter store today for the first time in a couple years, but they were sold out. This is a nice benefit of being able to cut with more calories than a lot of people use to bulk ;)

You should try making some. I have a thread that goes through the process if you're interested.

I actually was at another supp store to pick up more psyllium husk caps and saw that they started carrying quest bars per my suggestion. Bad thing for sure I picked up 10. I've only had one since then, but have been feeding them to my wife so that I can vicariously eat through her :-). Yes she's bulking she just doesn't know it lol
 
I think I might buy one of those ice cream makers to start making protein ice cream. The guys who have it talk about how simple it is and sometimes I am real lazy and that pic is pushing me over the edge. :p

I wonder how much of an advantage it would be over the ziploc bag method. I think you need to freeze bowls in advance and you'd have to clean the machine as opposed to throwing a bag in the trash.

Mixed berry is one of my favorites as well. I haven't had peanut butter cup either, if it's different than chocolate pb.

I know I am lol; my box didn't even make it 4 days. I went to "the mall" yesterday in an attempt to get some, which is something I can't stand doing. Hadn't been in a couple years.

This was sad.


Luckily they're only removing one pair of 80's and 100's that are already broken. The gym has a 250ft dumbbell rack, so there's still plenty of heavy weight left.

There's usually heavy dbs left on the floor. It must be from the night crowd because I don't see it happening when I'm there.
 
Dang they mean business huh? We just got all new dumbbells going up to 125lbs. They are quite nice :)

Yup. Thankfully it's just a strong warning at this point. Nice, we have a couple old sets that go up to 160lbs.

Just got my order of quest bars, 4 boxes (choc/peanut butter, peanut butter and jelly, apple pie, banana nut muffin). Sadly can't get CCCD here.

It's too bad, but there's still multiple sets of each. Hopefully it stops people from breaking anymore and leaving them on the ground.

I wish ours went above 125lbs. But I understand why they don't which is probably because only a select few can go that heavy or heavier.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever gone over 125lbs for anything. My gym has a lot of big dudes that go heavier though.

Oh I'm sure there are quite a few of big dudes where you're at haha. I've got a few exercises that I could go over 125lb... only for my Power week.

Yeah maybe shrugs and db rows for high power.. maybe 1RM db bench :P

I might start training with one of them soon. Haven't had a good training partner in a few years. Yeah, I could do some lower rep stuff as well.

Ya, if I don't have a spotter on incline or flat bench I won't use em. Its hard to find a dedicated workout partner and or someone who knows how to spot. I've asked a few ramdoms before and lets just say I could of got hurt pretty bad with how they were spotting me lol.

Haha. It'd be great to have a good spotter for bench work. My potential partner is an amazing athlete and beyond dedicated.

Thats awesome. The only workout partner I feel comfortable with and who is just as dedicated as me is my younger brother. He is workin in Texas though right now making bank on a pipeline.

Today’s workout was awesome. My legs were wrecked and it felt great. They gave out on me a couple times walking from one exercise to the next, but I managed to stay on my feet.

I’m really enjoying the OEP powder before my fasted training. It gives me plenty of energy and focus, and has me sweating up a storm as well. With the additions of ArA and Agmatine, my pre-workout arsenal is fantastic.

-I decided to stay higher rep again. After months of the Smith machine, I felt like my form could use a little work before piling on more weight. I didn’t quite go ATG, but I took them pretty deep.

-These were ridiculous, especially after the higher rep squats.

BTW, I'm going to be doing the ice cream in the plastic bag tonight. I don't know if you put a link up how to do it or not, but could you fill me in. 2 cups of almond milk + 2 cups whey in the plastic bag and mix around then let sit in freezer?

Awesome. The below link will explain everything. The first ice cream recipe goes over how to do it, but I made some improvements later in the thread. The only ingredients that I use now are almond milk, Greek yogurt, and whey. You can drop the yogurt if you want, but I found it makes the consistency a lot better. The batch I made last night had 1.5 cups of almond milk, about 5oz of yogurt, and 2 scoops of protein. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I don't really feel week, but my mechanics seemed a little off at first. I had somebody check my form today and they gave it a thumbs up. That's too bad that the rack doesn't work out right for you. I used to have limited equipment at my old gym as well. Hopefully the new one offers everything you need. I couldn't be happier since changing gyms; I think there are 15 squat racks and 6 power cages.

-I was looking at the below machine about a month ago (think I mentioned this before), and thought I might be able to get on it backwards for a good/different pressing movement. I finally tried it and was right. These hit my front/rear delts and traps, which felt amazing. The top of the movement felt very similar to leaning in on cage presses. It's probably my favorite machine shoulder exercise that I’ve done to date, and I’ll definitely keep them in my routine.
