BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER: Snag's Recipe for a [NATURAL] Recomp, Competition Style!

Day #36 Abs/Shoulders/Arms

INCREDIBLE session today!! Snag Storm sadistically shocked dem shoulders today (blitzed bi's and terrorized triceps as well)..

Led off with 12 minutes abs (combination weighted & non-weighted various exercises), then utilized the isolation-before-compound principle for shoulders, doing DB laterals, inclined DB rear laterals, followed by behind-neck seated military; DB concentration curls, EZ-bar reverse curls, straight bar curls; V-bar tricep pushdowns, lying extensions, and close-grip bench. 60sec rests thruout.
Feeling awesome this morning, even tho I just left everything I had on the garage floor! :rocketwhore:
That's the only way to train. Leave it all on the battlefield brother!! :duel:
Give to them nothing...take from them everything!!! :angryfire:

I like the sound of this routine. Way to up the intensity. Almost like pre-exhasution sets but with a rest period in between. I like going straight from the isolation right into the compounds. No rest in between. But it reduces the compound's poundages significantly. Hurts my fragile ego!! LOL

Another w/o in the books. I like the iso/pre exhaust technique. I am still trying to figure out my p-slin use: pre or post w/o?

I like that 'angryfire' dude TG -- that what I'm talking about! The intensity in my training has been truly remarkable, I'm just so locked in..
Isolation first DEF kills the compound poundages, but sometimes ya just gotta check that ego at the door brother! ;) Gotta roll with the goal..
Of course, I don't have your strength anyway, so maybe I can't relate..
Thx for dropping in man!

Depends on your goal bro; I'm a little lost as to what that is now!
If you're training earlier in the day, say after 1 meal, and the goal is lean bulking then go ahead and use Pslin with breakfast, eat big there. Follow with your post-workout plan that we talked about (Anabolic Switch + WMS + protein source). I think that would be a killer set-up for you..

Lean bulk is where I am right now. I train late afternoon and I will be going with the p-slin pre w/o meal and the AS/WMS/Protein post w/o. The w/o pump from p-slin is something this old horse hasn't felt in years!!

Halfway thru 'gain week' now; I awoke 2lbs heavier this morning (186.1), noticing a little water weight hanging on me. Muscles are still extremely hard & solid. Mixed feelings about seeing some cuts dissipate; of course I like the look & the feel of being shredded, but I enjoy the powerfull feeling of being large & full too. Bottom line: of course I will stay the course; this is but a blip in the process that I feel will ultimately leave me in top-notch shape! Gotsta follow thru with the plan!

You have to play the whole game to win Snag...fourth quarter has started and you have the lead. Show us how to put the game away!

I got this e-mail today from my friend who lives in.. ahh well, I won't spoil it for ya. You'll figure it out at the end:

KURTIS THE STOCK BOY AND
BRENDA THE CHECKOUT GIRL

In a supermarket, Kurtis the stock boy, was busily working when a new voice came over the loud speaker asking for a carry out at register 4.
Kurtis was almost finished, and wanted to get some fresh air, and decided to answer the call. As he approached the check-out stand a distant smile caught his eye, the new check-out girl was beautiful. She was an older woman (maybe 26, and he was only 22) and he fell in love.
Later that day, after his shift was over, he waited by the punch clock to find out her name. She came into the break room, smiled softly at him, took her card and punched out, then left. He looked at her card, BRENDA. He walked out only to see her start walking up the road.

Next day, he waited outside as she left the supermarket, and offered her a ride home. He looked harmless enough, and she accepted. When he dropped her off, he asked if maybe he could see her again, outside of work. She simply said it wasn't possible. He pressed and she explained she had two children and she couldn't afford a baby-sitter, so he offered to pay for the baby-sitter. Reluctantly she accepted his offer for a date for the following Saturday.

That Saturday night he arrived at her door only to have her tell him that she was unable to go with him. The baby-sitter had called and canceled. To which Kurtis simply said, "Well, let's take the kids with us."
She tried to explain that taking the children was not an option, but again not taking no for an answer, he pressed. Finally Brenda, brought him inside to meet her children. She had an older daughter who was just as cute as a bug, Kurtis thought, then Brenda brought out her son, in a wheelchair. He was born a paraplegic with Down Syndrome. Kurtis asked Brenda, "I still don't understand why the kids can't come with us?" Brenda was amazed. Most men would run away from a woman with two kids, especially if one had disabilities - just like her first husband and father of her children had done.

Kurtis was not ordinary - - - he had a different mindset.
That evening Kurtis and Brenda loaded up the kids, went to dinner at the movies. When her son needed anything Kurtis would take care of him. When he needed to use the restroom, he picked him up out of his wheelchair, took him and brought him back. The kids loved Kurtis. At the end of the evening, Brenda knew this was the man she was going to marry and spend the rest of her life with.
A year later, they were married and Kurtis adopted both of her children. Since then they have added two more kids.
So what happened to Kurtis the stock boy and Brenda the check-out girl?
Well, Mr. & Mrs. Kurt Warner now live in Arizona , where he is currently employed as the quarterback of the National Football League Arizona Cardinals and has his Cardinals in the hunt for a possible appearance in the Super Bowl. Is this a surprise ending or could you have guessed that he was not an ordinary person.
It should be noted that he also quarterbacked the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI. He has also been the NFL's Most Valuable Player twice and the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player.

I'm not a fan of either team, but I thought this was a great human interest story. Always liked Kurt Warner - I gotta root for a fellow 37yr old! :yes(1):

I also recently got a PM from someone on here, really made me feel honored..
I've talked to a few guys re. PH/DS/AAS use; there's no secret where my personal preferences lie in this area.
At the same time -- I make no judgements regarding anyone's personal choice on what they choose to use. I don't condemn anybody. The extent of my dislike for usage lies in the youngsters who, without knowledge on what they are doing, make this choice because it's simply viewed as a shortcut, the quick & easy thing to do. I personally don't feel anyone under 21 has any business even considering using these substances. That's where I stand. Beyond that, I simply don't care..
But, this makes me feel pretty damn good: I get this PM from a guy who tells me that I've been an inspiration, he's done with using these things.
I'm feeling very honored that a simple thread could have that kind of impact on someone.
Just thought I'd share my honored-ness.. :box:

And I will admit, it was I.
Snag, you're a beast. If you can maintain your body with mostly good food, and the right combination of supplements, then I want it on that.

Bro-love...gotta love it! Cheers you two!

Snag is the living proof....it is possible.

Damn, now I better pull of some killa results for real huh guys?
All this pressure..
Like I'm not all Jacked (couldn't resist the USP plug there, ahaa) up as it is; I got even more incentive driving this Snag Storm!!
BRING IT ON!! :woohoo:

HAHAAA.. Mullet makes an appearance in here for the first time in awhile with such a low-key plug..
Well, there's no secret these are the basis of my supplemental attack, for sure.
I said earlier - there's a reason for everything I use! :D

I'll keep bringing it to the thread fellas. No tricks up my sleeve, I'll lay it all out..

The post super bowl sale is looking good too!!

Awww man, just saw this..
Invalid Link Removed
Accurate info on the Kurt Warner story; apparently my friend was circulating a slightly altered but very popular e-mail.. can't have inaccurate info in my thread! :nono:
Still, truly inspirational stuff.

Ya that first one wasn't entirely factual...Kurt warner is a great man tho someone i can say is inspirational and IMO hes one of those players idk how anyone could say anything bad about

Yep, nice add FOG. Good to see you're still around!
There's no doubt, different things work for different ppl. And it's compunded by where that individual is in current metabolism and body structure; and yet again by where the hormones are at; and what supplementation one is on to tweak all the aforementioned (as well as where within that supp cycle one is)..
So many different variables. It's all about knowing your body, being consistently scientific and probing. As well as I know myself, there are still things I am learning thruout this log (which was one of my goals when I set out). I hope I never stop learning! :study:

It is by far the best learning log I've seen Snag ! ... keep on...

I am prone to dramatic swings in strategies; I respond well to moving the pendulum harshly; some would view this as a bad choice, prefering instead to alter things in small variables (which I've done in the past btw).. I'm just rolling with what I feel I want to roll with. Take from it what you think will work for you!

HAHA, I've just posted something along those lines in my log ! And OBVIOUSLY , no, I don't think it is a bad choice :D

Besides, who can argue with this: BIGGER, STRONGER & ALL NATURAL Invalid Link Removed

Knowing your body is the most important thing in the pursuit of an excellent physique. Good Post!! Pay your dues get to know yourself, how you respond to diet exercise then later on different forms of supplementation starting with the basic ingredients. Your supplement regime should grow with your increased knowledge of yourself, and not supercede it. That's where things get foggy.

AGREE.

Just salt & pepper.. I like Mrs. Dash tho!

IC - how fitting you drop in at this moment - I just finished uploading a pic of the legs taken earlier today.. fitting, I say, since Mr. Quads himself pops in! :D I post this just to show the hardening that has occurred o/n since leg pic from yesterday..

:approve: I always enjoy these visits from Dr. Dragon!!
This is indeed high praise. Thank you, I'm pleased to contribute! :icon16:

ohhh..and sorry for blowing up your log with all that tennis talk , aha.. :o

I need to see said quads of the IC to consider jumping into this fray...

Oh yeah Snag, is your sig from the last Rocky movie? I just watched it the other day and he says that to his kid.

That's exactly where it's from bro! 'Absolutely', as Rock would say, haha..
Stallone's my boy. Always has been; I've tried thruout the yrs to pattern my physique after his, since we have similar builds & we're the same height.

Day #37 LIIT Cardio

40min treadmill, fasted state upon rising. The FT doesn't entirely go into the concept of 'gain week', but it does jive with my own philosophy of constant change and 'shocks' to the system. Brought back AP for this foray -- I just can't intellectually feel good about FT w/o AP in the mix now, guess I'm hooked on that protocol! :D
Sweat was profuse, accomplished what I wanted. Weight upon rising was 186.0(!!), down .1 LB; metabolism seemed to kick into another gear, don't notice the water hanging on me as much as yesterday morning.. this is comforting.
Rolling right along!

Stallone probably dables a bit with the super supps...coughcough but, you still have to admire the effort and discipline necessary to maintain what he has at his age.

Well that's actually a good point Mid -- underscores the fact that I could care less about an individual's choice of 'usage'. I don't take anything away from the obvious hard work the dude has done thruout the yrs, the consistency in his approach. But yeah, it's a fact that Franco turned him on to stuff back when Sly hired him to train him for Rocky III. So he's been dabbling for at least 25yrs.. doesn't take anything away from his accomplishments in my mind. And I won't even go into the whole 'getting busted w/ test & HGH' thing in Australia when he went there to film Rambo; hey, at least the dude was honest about it and didn't try to say it was, like, his assistant's stash or some lame shit (ala Clemens) or try to pull a Bonds (oh..I thought that was liquid injectable flaxseed oil..)
Bottom line: the man has worked hard for some 30+yrs to sculpt & refine his physique. He's a stud.

Sly is pretty awesome. He seems to have a very cool wife, too. I watched his biography on A&E the other day. It seems like his steroid and GH usage is mainly for roles in movies. I have no doubt he uses TRT/HRT on a regular basis, but nowhere near what he used for the new Rambo. If you've seen him recently, he's not nearly as thick as he was in that flick. He talked for a while on the biography about how he loves to experiment with different foods.

Ah for sure man -- diet plays such a huge part in results. I know we hear this, but I don't think that many ppl really give it much weight when they plan their next 'stack' or plan of attack. It gets shoved to the back of the mind. This is where results are truly impacted.. also why I love AP & Pslin so damn much. Anything that can have a big impact on what is already going to have the biggest impact of all on our results (diet) -- well that's just HUGE.
I remember an article yrs back, Sly was talking about having to get fat for 'Cop Land', first time he ate a hot dog, he got physically ill.
He had been on such a dialed diet for so long, his body revolted at the beginning of his transition to tubby..

IC - I'm sure you've left legs 'DOMSland' already from your visit there a few days back, but I am following behind ya & am enjoying the sights & scenery today..
My hammered hamstrings are howling! I LOVE IT! :yes(1):

I'm actually there, myself. I always split Quads and Hams up, so me legs are perpetually sore. I hit Hams yesterday, myself. Got those Romanian Deads down just right, although my back was still a little stiff from doing Squats on Tuesday.

Dig it.
I've been recovering extremely well with the Prime, but I still have my days.
You'll have that with intense sessions!
You guys almost pushed me into doing SLDL which I love, but I tried gripping the bar and couldn't lift with only 4 fingers, even just 45's. Still working on the finger lol. My hams have their day coming :D
Yeah that sux dude. A broken digit hampers so many things.
Make sure it's all good before you start tearing things up again.

Yup, patience is killing me, but there's nothing dumber than walking back into the gym, attempting a deadlift and breaking the finger again :sigh: Once I got decent ROM Ill be doing SLDL; saving the cleans & deadlifts for atleast a week after that. I haven't done a bicep exercise in over a month, and they still look about the same; a testament to the insane squatting I've been doing lately (The kind where I;m lying on the floor afterwards lol)

 hehe my dad dated Kurt Warner's wife

oooo :eek:I think you got me beat

Day #38 Abs/Chest/Back

Started a bit dragging out of the gate today, but things kicked in shortly after I got rolling. Really the first experience I've had like that in awhile..

So I led off with ab work first; then hit flat BB bench (working in the 6-10 rep range today, still 1min rests), incline BB bench, chest-focused dips supersetted w/ explosive floor push-ups; bent BB rows, inclined EZ-bar rows (gripping plate), D-grip pulley rows, and DB pullovers.

The highlight of my session today was the top weight-pyramided portion of my flat bench -- I nailed 305 for 6 reps. Felt pretty good about this! I love switching things up from higher rep ranges to the lower range periodically.. even tho I'm working the higher reps for a reason, it's nice to drop down and see some power every once in awhile! Keeps the ego fresh (as TG would say, ahaa).

Seriously spent after the session today; sweating like a madman. Legs (hammies) are still sore; hoping they're ready to roll for tomorrow. Doesn't matter if they are I guess -- they will be smashed anyway! :hammer:
