Best Daily Multivitamin

NSI Synergy.

Would that be the Version 11 formula you refer to?
I dunno, that actually doesn't look like a bad blend. I remember when they first came on the scene yrs back, as a buy-direct company. They were severely overpriced and woefully lacking in essential amounts of components.
This seems to be better than what I remember of them..
I'm still leery of a multi you can buy at Meijer and vitacost.com.. :masked:

You do realized that if you are using a multi that is not organic, and it actually contains natural ingredients (not man made chemicals, which often do not give the spectrum of effects that natural derivatives do), that all those pesticides and herbicides are being concentrated as the supplement is concentrated?

Out of all the multi's that I have used in my time (not even being biased), MVP365 is my favorite. I also enjoyed Orange Triad and Super Mega Max....but MVP has been the one for me!

:hijacked:
what criteria does a multivitamin have to meet in order to be considered quality?

i'll start it off...i don't want megadoses of B and C if i'm not being assured i'm absorbing it. i don't know how that would be possible but i know if i'm getting those megadoses of B & C i'm probably peeing it out..

The reason that the doses are so high in a lot of companies' multi's is because the typical person's activity level varies drastically from the average person to the elite athlete. I'm guessing the company will want to target everyone in that spectrum and thus, they add more of certain things that athletes burn through the most in an attempt to help everyone with one product.

I hope that helped a bit.

Studies show that a natural source for a vitamin, which provides the different compounds and isotopes of the vitamin, have a much greater effect. Vitamin C is one of those examples. Does your multi contain just synthetic ascorbic acid, or a natural source that has all the forms of vitamin c, such as acerola cherry?

no disrespect intended towards CL here in the least bit....but NP's price for Triad is $29.95 and The MVP/ZMK stack is being run at $35.95

I just can't see the MVP is expensive in relation to Triad...

CLs is 45 days which is something to keep in mind....

I suppose you'd be right about that. Good Call!

You should also keep in mind though that if you're not training with 100% intensity (and I don't mean the typical gymrat's idea of full intensity...I mean REALLY training)...2 MVP and ZMK will get you through the day just fine ;). On my rest days and lighter days like cardio and core...I don't use 4 of each.

I think there is. There was another thread not long ago where I was ripped for using it. Either way, I continue and will do so. I have tried others which were ok, but always feel better on 1 pak a day

While I like the Pak (and use it myself), I have to say that 1 Pak daily is woefully underpowered for my needs. I need 2/day.
Now if I'm in a period where I'm consuming a lot of foods, then I'll use Beverly's Ultra-4 -- the amounts of micros in these for the price cannot be beaten.
But if I'm in hi-intensity or reduced-calorie mode, I'll go with a rotating combo of the Animal Pak (2 daily) and Bev's Super Pak. Just because I can. Haha..actually I like both of 'em, and alternate them daily in these hi-stress periods..

For the serious fellas, and those competin', two is def the way to go.

for me 2 a day kills the cost effectiveness and knocks it out of my market

What about the above mentioned Opti-Men? Is it a good daily formula. The serving is 3 tablets. Is that too much or...?

sportpharma multiV is cheap and gets the job done...and its not super strong so u can take more or less as u see fit

That Opti-Men seems like an underpowered vitamin. I too love Animal Pak and feel like 1 a day is enough. I need to order another can soon

Anyone notice any difference when the don't take their multivitamin for say a month?

Anyone notice any difference when the don't take their multivitamin for say a month?

I haven't gone a month without a multi, but I forgot to take em for the past 3 days (thats the longest I've gone without it). Had a pretty intense workout on 2 of those days. I didn't feel depleted or anything, actually felt pretty good.

Me too...off-season 1 a day, when I'm in show prep than i up it to 2 a day.

Why do people take extra vitamins when they prep for shows and stuff like that? I'm still a bit uneducated on the vitamin science, I just take them because I know I need to.

I have, I noticed an endurance/energy/recovery difference. I think it was slight but it was noticeable.

I too would like to know more about vitamin science. More is not always better and I'd like to understand more about the quality of ingredients companies use so I can differentiate between what works and what doesn't.

Because your diet is so strict and your eating so little you're not getting all nutrients from whole foods so you supplement with vitamins. Not to mention your damn near on the verge of over training when in show prep.

Huge difference. Before I became knowledgable about Supps I would run out my my centrum or 1-a-day. I would always get sick and run down when I went without it. Very not good. I ran out recently last year (budget issue) when I was using ADAM, then tried MVP/ZMK. I noticed an immediate and immense difference in energy levels mentally and physically, as well as sleep quality. When I rotated back to ADAM after 2 months I noticed I still felt better than I had when not taking a multi, but not as good as I did when I took MVP/ZMK.

Comparing the quality of ingredients of the MVP/ZMK makes me believe it is the best I have seen around, but it is a lot of $$$. I was happy to get a 4 months of it at the New Year's Sale at Nutra :D

i'de be willing to bed that has a lot to do with timing...

you dont wanna decrease free radical production immediately before or after lifting...

Arjun4, you seem to know a great deal about micronutrients-can you explain to me the reasoning behind the above statement?

Oh, and your opinion on Opti-Men vit/min formula?

Thx

I was doing some reading last night on a vitamin that a buddy takes. It is also recommended by the Colgan Institute whom actually do many rigorous studies on athletes and various supplements to test their actual worth. The one that I am going to try and am looking forward to is Ultra Nutrient by Pure Encapsulations. Google the company and you can see their great list of products....definately a sick list!!!!They seem to have various levels of vitamins depending on one's needs. The content of these:
