209 today, which is hard to believe after yesterday's binge (clean binge, but I broke 400g in carbs....)

today is day 14, that is up 8lbs

no, thats really just 2-3 days a week for a single meal :D last few days have been squeaky clean, but aiming for more cals + mostly more carbs. yesterday was 440ish carbs, today i'm trying to break 600 :woohoo:

yeah, doing a bunch of quinoa, plus for drinks i'm putting 50g of carbs worth of oats into milk of fruit juice and blending which is helping

3tbsp of cream of wheat has 23g of carbs.. i eat a few cups of this per day
 
Quinoa is the sh1t. Great replacement for gluten type meals.

ah you know what else I have here that isn't getting use? a bunch of those mono-grain baby cereals (freakin baby hates to eat them) that probably work out similarly.

oh I need to post a recent baby pic, haven't in a while. maybe that will draw christine into the log :)
 
honestly, if i ate 600g's of carbs i would look like a blow fish, and then gain 10 pounds of fat and **** all over myself

i would have thought the same thing too, but after talking with dirk, and looking at other peoples experiences, I went to 440g yesterday as my first day attempting high volume carbs, and today I gained no weight, and oddly look leaner. So i'm kicking it up a notch - bam!

he's basically thinking the same as i am, that if you are looking to increase cals, clean carbs seems to be the way to go vs fats if you are looking for bodily fat loss. My beta run, and the start of this run, I was moderate to low carbs and high fats. I had good gains, but not a real significant fat loss. I took in more calories, more fiber and more water yesterday with no scale change but looking a little leaner. i'm going to try this for a few more days and see where i land :)
 
Any strength gains???

Any significant strength gains yet? Bench go up at all? I see many are reporting nice size gains fairly early but not alot on strength. Thx, angel77
 
a bit. my lifting pattern isn't geared toward strength gains particularly (on purpose) due to my shitty joints. I'm more inclined to kick something up to 12 reps than to add another 5 or 10lbs :) but i have seen some increases, most notable was in machine row

I'm gonna be keeping an eye on this...as I mentioned I'm going to be using TO for a recomp so this is quite interesting to me...

Sooooooo after that totally over the top eating yesterday, this morning i'm at 209 which i dont even believe. seriously there was more than an extra 2lbs of FOOD intake. In the mirror I think I looked a little leaner around the chest, but wider at the same time...

But it sort of confirms what I was thinking. So today i'm doing the same rough diet, shooting for over 600g clean carbs. I'm going to follow this the next 3-4 days minimally see where it goes. If its doing what i think, i'll then try replacing a bit of the carbs with dirty carbs, but still hit the same totals. I've already broken 300g carbs for the day at 945am :P
 
ended up as an increase of 1500 cal total over what had been my target, or around 1800 over maintenance, and roughly 400g carbs and 100g protein over my normal levels, fat lower than normal
 
yeah, I want to track it closely just like this, with all clean carbs and minimal fat, then either start swapping out clean carbs for dirtier/simpler ones or possibly slowly dropping protein + carbs some, but adding in more fat
 
Still playing with it to see, but thinking, or a carb heavy diet might be better. i'm starting to think that fat loss is affected positively by high carb levels, and mass gain is more related to ratios of protein to fat, where lean mass gains are limited to roughly 1lb for every 200 gram of protein + 100gfat. this is just wild theory so far, but looking at my eating patterns it fits. as i raised carbs + lowered fats to keep protein high gains "slowed", but fat loss started to happen too. Today was day 15, and i'm back at dosing 4 so i will just have another 13ish days to go. So I can do 3ish more days like this and see if that part of my guess (the high carbs causing more fat loss) is true, then I'll choose between either starting to raise fat a little to see if mass gains accelerate, or start subbing in straight sugar for some of the currently clean carbs and see if the fat loss effect gets better or wose :)

Easy can you write out what kind of food you are eating/schedule? A short outline like CM is doing so I can see if I can have a similar diet or if I eat similar things. :type:
 
my diet now is soooooo different than normal. i'm sort of winging it meal to meal as I work from home. So I can more or less do what I want whenever I want. :D

so far today
m1 - 8oz gfj, 4oz apple juice, 1 cup oats, 1 banana, 1 scoop protien
m2 - 6 big buckwheat pancakes, sugar free syrup, cup of mixed berries, 1 banana, glass of hood calorie countdown milk (the hard candies on my diet planner is the syrup, it was an all sorbitol syrup)
m3 - most likely a bunch of a quinoa/brown rice mix, grilled chicken breast dunno what else yet :D still need a bit more carbs
 
So to hit the clean carbs goal, i'm really relying a LOT on oats. they are easy to grind into shakes, and have a bit of protein as well.
 
This high fat has me curious. I may need to up my fats :scratchchin:
 
yeah, the crappy walmart quick oats in the big cardboard tube. Its horrifying, and I have gas all day and my stomach feels stuff all day (i'm using betaine hcl now too to try and help) but it seems to fit my hypotheis, and a couple of other peoples results as well.
 
if I can eat 4500 cals with 600+g of carbs again tonite, and wake up at 209 tomorrow, i'll have had almost 4000 cals over maintenance from CARBS in the last 3 days without gaining a pound
