Bam Bam Goes Caveman-Mode: A Training Log

The fact that she acknowledges she has feelings for him and knows what it feels like to be laying next to him raises huge red flags for me.
I think this needs to end, I just need to muster up the courage to do it.

I caught my ex in a similar situation. You'll be 100x better off if you end it. My ex is married to that guy and they're happy and I've got a girl I can trust and rides or dies for me. Turns out - she was engaged to him for the entire two + years we dated and I ignored all the signs and forgave her for all the sketchy ****. He worked on a rig and would be home for a week or so tops every six months. In the end, everybody won but it was hell for us all for a while.

You're right, thanks for the advice man.
Yeah I've caught her flirting and getting "involved" with other guys two or three times before.
And one time I found out she renamed her ex's contact in her phone as some girl and had been texting him for a whole week, the whole time acting like she was just chatting with one of her girl friends.

BamBam0319 I refrained from chiming in on your situation earlier, not because I didn't feel for you, or didn't have anything to offer to the discussion, but rather that I was not sure I could relay my advice w/o coming off wrong or sounding preachy.

You mentioned you caught her stepping out a couple of times. Once is an incident, twice a reason for concern, more than that is a pattern of behavior. Patterns don't change, that is by nature of their definition as a pattern. I am sorry to say this but you need to cut your (emotional) losses and move on. I have had relationships fail, some were my fault, some not, but all stung. Here comes the preachy part (sorry :() You are still young. There is another, better fit for you out there. I am on my second marriage, and by far 100 times better for it. I did not know how bad I had it until I found out how good it could be. I also learned a lot from my first marriage; what to do, not to do, say, not to say, and what warning signs to watch out for. You need to use your last 3 years as a learning experience. If anything it will help keep you from feeling they were "wasted" time, as I believe to alluded to in a previous post. You are also a good looking guy (no, not throwing my hat in the ring :)). Unless you are a total douche, which I don't get from your posts, you will likely find someone new fairly quickly. At least once you pull your head out of the funk it is in, which will take time. A word of advice, when on any future "first dates", do NOT talk about your Ex, no matter how much that topic may be on the forefront of your brain, nor how much your date might say that she "understands", and it is "OK".

Now back to our regularly scheduled program of killing it in the gym! :D

Here bro. Haha this came on and it's fitting for me, thought you might like it.

Thanks for the advice Sparkss I absolutely agree with you. Easier said than done though. I'm a pushover by nature.
And lol Burnfire I always think I've heard everything from 5FDP and then you share something I've never seen before. Wtf

I completely understand. I typically try to avoid confrontation these days myself. Taking that first step is the hardest. Looking back on my divorce (I left) it seems (seemed) relatively easy, but that is how the mind works, it dulls the memory of past (painful) events. I will pass along a little more (possibly unsolicited) advice, or more like "sharing" of experience: don't let it define you. When I filed for divorce I felt like a failure because I could not save our marriage (which in hindsight was a bit egotistical of me to think). All I knew was that despite all best efforts the marriage was unsalvagable. But it takes two people that really want to try to save a relationship, any relationship. Think of it like a three-legged race (where two people have their legs tied together and need to run in unison). If one doesn't care or try, then there is no way for the other to still win the race. Relationships are the same. Anyways, just wanted to share that analogy and my experiences. I hope you find the perfect partner, whether it turns out to be your current GF, or the next one you meet. I sincerely hope it all works out for the best for you.

She was dating him for 2 years, that makes the other guy almost family.
LOL

Thanks puccah! I do want to compete, but I want to make it count and have a good amount of mass when I step on stage for the first time.
Is that on Netflix? lol

Hope everything is cool with you man. You're killing it in here as always.
I'm not sure if it's on Netflix, I bought it on iTunes so I would always have it whether Netflix did or not!

That chest workout looks like a Pump Fest!!!!

Trained legs with a potential client today, started with deadlift which I haven't done in probably two months. I worked up to 405 for 5, then tried 455 and couldn't get it off the ground. I shouldn't be mad about it though, being my first time coming back to deadlift. It'll feel like a feather once I'm back on cycle.
Pretty sure my legs are already sore. Hamstrings are obliterated.
I'm getting really fed up with my job, I'm always getting the short end of the stick. Thinking about quitting at the end of the summer and maybe just freelance training or something

Potential client? And he wanted to do deads? If that's the case he probably just wanted a workout partner haha

No no; he actually came in to do chest and then changed his mind and did legs with me. I already was planning on doing deads ;) he is actually already technically my client, as he has already bought some sessions with me but we haven't used any yet.

That's pretty legit. How do you determine what is lifting together and what is a training session? I take it he'll set up a time and you work on a specific goal with him, right? Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I always wondered about that.

You're fine, man! I wouldn't also be working out if it were a training session. Also, you're right. If it were a training session I would be observing his form and working toward a specific goal.

Wow! Crazy volume man. Makes me realize I have to step up my game. I'm so used to training heavy with low volume. Idk how my body would react lol

So many ways that one can go really.

Shoot, I think if you work out with them you could charge even more if you wanted... They are getting twice the motivation, and exercise demonstration they would with you not doing it. Don't discount the value of your knowledge and motivation. Showing someone form with a light load doesn't help as much as them seeing it under a heavy working load. I probably wouldn't really charge more but if you spent time educating him in between sets, and cueing him on form during his set, that should count as a session especially if he had sessions on the books. So the question you have to ask yourself is did he ask to work with you, or did you invite him to join you? If you invited him, not a session, if he asks to workout with you... Session!

Obviously it is all a personal choice and however you work it out with the client is what it will be in the end. I have had people who I didn't have time to train ask if they could train with me and still pay.

I would definitely rather train with one of the greats and have them coach me during my sets and rest than just have them coaching me. Working alongside me would have me lifting heavier, trying harder and digging deeper. I think the same would be true with working out with your personal trainer, because they feel like actually working out WITH the trainer is something special and want to do their absolute best.

One thing I will say is you probably want to establish the rules of engagement for that type of thing. You don't want any confusion in the client's mind, or them to keep trying to slide into free workouts with you. Now if you plan to make him a partner that is something completely different.

You have a very good point there Kleen! I didn't look at it that way.
He texted me this morning saying it was difficult to get out of bed because of how sore he is lol.

I'm sure there's a delicate balance. Some people are scum bags and will try to get something for nothing, but it's probably a good way to find a lifting buddy Haha. Do you train mostly beginners?

Lol Bostin Loyd just insulted my physique because I told him Dylan Gemelli and Evolutionary are full of BS and only push their own underdosed low quality crap when Bostin promoted them.

Yeah it's pretty much all scrawny college kids or middle aged adults who want to lose fat.

I did lol one kid put on 10lbs in 4 weeks because I got him to finally start eating and stop skipping leg day.

FB

Lol, looks like you got a rise out of him. That's bull****, dude. Everyone knows Dylan Gemelli only exists to sell those underdosed and overpriced products. He has no idea what he's talking about and gives ****ty advice to teens about using Sarms with herbal otc pct products. He's a shill.

Exactly. Definitely did get a rise out of him lol, why else would he make a personal attack for no reason. And then a bunch of dick riders came in to his defense too.

Bostin is on grams of gear and peptides, I seriously doubt he gives any ****s about Gemelli's stupid ****. Instead of backing his statements up with facts and experience with the products he just bashed your character and physique. Dick.

Lol yep, that's what happens when you skip out on a higher education to pursue bodybuilding which he isn't even somewhat good at. I'd rather look the way I do than look like him, with a gut the size of Texas hanging off my front end even when I've got 4% body fat.

Right lol all you ever hear from him is excuses. Bodybuilding politics this and favoritism that. Wah wah wah. You lost and it's because you look like dog **** on stage. No chest and a massive belly. Go figure you didn't win.

For real though, this majestic mudd mask by dsade is fantastic. Highly recommend, even if you don't have acne.
