AZ Heating Up With Andro Rx

Day 7

It's official, I need to eat more cals. Weighed in today pre w/o at 205.5. The meal plan needs some tweaking I would say. I will put in another 500 cals and see if the scale starts heading in the other direction. The way my appetite is on 1-Andro it should not be a problem. I feel like things are picking up. The Alpha male attitude is growing. Vascularity has increased as well. Today was ABs/Triceps/Back.

Triceps: I can't do standard dips..my shoulders won't let me. I have been relegated to bench dips. Standard DC rest pause set Olympic bar across lap BW+135 25-8-6. Took a 1 minute rest and went to a standing single pulley cable press down 70-15. DC stretch followed.

Back Width: Underhand grip pull down single pulley 160-10-5-4. Went to BB rows 225-10, strip the weight and did 185-12.

Back Thick: Nothing fancy here...Floor deads 315-7, strip the weight 250-12.

Felt strong and powerfull thru-out the w/o. Looking forward to more calories and next week. I will get in another ride this weekend...tomorrow is looking busy so maybe Sunday.

Thanks KJ! I get in and out with what I feel gets the job done. I can't do long w/o routines. My recovery is less than you younger studs. Although the 1-Andro has me ready to go again the next day now.

My recovery from W/Os is much improved and my skin is oily. I'm a dry old fart and the desert really doesn't help at all. The W/Os have a more aggressive feel to them as well. I really attack the weights now. My son is starting to get curious.hehheh

Hahaha Nice! So pretty much just possitives right? Im glad this is goin well for ya brotha! Im looking forward to next weeks lifts :)

Workout looks great az!! Dc stretch is a killer isnt it! It seems like you could do more weight on the dips, your getting 25-8-6, that is a big drop between set 1 and 2.
 
Glad to hear that hunger is still coming and that your recovery is improving. All good so far.

I will raise the weight next time with these. As far as the drop, after that first set of 25 my arms were toast and the next sets were brutal. I rest 30 seconds between sets.

30 seconds is pretty quick. I do dips in sets of 15 with a 1 minute break in between. I'll do them with a 35lb DB between my feet for 3 sets of 10 sometimes. Usually with a 90 second break then.

This is a DC routine so it is one set with rest pauses of 20-30 seconds between. I warm up with BW-20,+45-10,+95-6,+115-6 and then the final set. I am done by then for sure. I just throw in the extensions for a finisher.

Holy Crap.....Thats high volume....i did a DC type workout for a while but never did it full on. Been considering it....seems like everyone who tries it has great success. Maybe after the cycle.

I've been sold on it for the last 2 yrs. I am not a strict follower of it but, the basics have put some great size on me.

I think I am gonna try it again for sure. I like the idea of rest pause sets. The stretching thing is what put me off to begin with. It just felt like I was hurting myself. Gonna give it another go for sure.
 
Give it a go KJ. 3 sets to complete failure does some damage. I changed up the splits to what worked for me but, you figure out what works and what doesn't. My 17yr old is growing like a weed doing it. He is getting ready to pop 200 lbs at single digit BF%.
 
17 with those stats. Gonna be passin daddy soon.

He has my number with legs but, upper body I still own him. Not much longer though. He just won't eat like he needs to. I have to constantly shove food at him or he just won't eat. Can't complain though...he loves the weights.
 
I've still got 16 years to share the feeling of lifting with my son. Hope he has an an interest.

He won't be able to resist it as long as he sees how much you love it. My 5 yr old daughter already wants to get in the mix with us now. They see it as having fun...how can they not want to do it!

that is my 6 year old girl too. Gods honest truth this morning she is "flexing" (front double bi) in the mirror, so I ask her what she is doing and this is her reply:

"daddy its funny, I have the face of a girl but muscles of a boy"

I lost it right there. She is going to be my little powerlifter I think :woohoo:
 
I started at 11, nothing crazy but just to gauge my interest. I think it would depend on your son, and how physically mature he was. However 12-14 range sounds fine
 
You canget him going at 11 with body weight movements and coordination stuff. Weights start working when the hormones begin.
 
hes my adopted son and his bio father is a definite ecto....hes 8 and only 66 lbs but tall for his age. Not sure which direction hell go as of yet...bio dad was like 5'9" 155 lbs..I'm 6' 225lbs......should be interesting....
 
Day 9

Had a nice ride this morning for just over an hour. I was on the road by 6:30. The temp is still nice at that time, but not for long. We are getting ready to set a record for the most triple digit temp days in the month of May. Summer is looking real good right now. All is going well...was mildly sore after my back day Friday. I usually would have been very uncomfortable the next 2 days. The 1-Andro has my recovery on point. I would consider yesterday a re-feed day in my books. I ate everything and anything I could. I will weigh in again tomorrow to see if the calorie increase is on track. I will be playing some pool basket-brawl later today. A bunch of us get together and play hoops in the pool. We basically beat the hell out of eachother and throw a little basketball in the mix. It's a great workout! Have a great rest of the day guys...
 
Nice update. I can imagine the heat. Its been at 100 for a couple of days here lately and it's only going to go up.
 
Yeah, this summer is going to be a hottie! You just do the outdoor events in the early morning or right before sunset. My big agro is getting into your car if it has been outside for awhile. The thing is like a sauna and it never really cools off either. But hey, the other 9 months are beautifull here. I can handle it for 3 months. I can't imagine what you have to deal with bubba!

Awesome to read about you and your kid. I hope I have started something I can pass down to my boys. One of them, believe it or not, is a skeleton looking kid that I have to force to eat. He is only 8 so he has a few years left before I drag him to the gym with me.

There was some carnage today. There will be some sore bodies tomorrow for sure. As far as taking it to the rack...I went up for this jam and that 270 lb monster caught me mid jam and slammed me ribs first onto the pool lip. Took an inventory of working parts and things went primal from there. The kid has more respect for his elders now. Tomorrows legs w/o should be a beauty.

Nice updates AZ, logs looking great. The heat must be drying you up nice.

Lots of water going down for sure. It's weird out here because you sweat but it evaporates off before you are really wet. When you come in from being outside...you just have this salty dust on your skin. You really have to just pound the water all the time.
 
The under cut while you are in mid air is a bit weak, even though you are in a pool. Going ribs first into the edge would make my temper flare up. I wouldn't care hold old/young big or not the person was, we'd have some words. And going primal is probably the nicest way to put it. I'm guessing those boys are sore today.

And a leg workout after jumping around in the pool is brutal. I like it.
