I always loved playing hockey. Although mine was roller and not ice it was a heck of a workout.

Started out with roller in the PAL league. Love playing hockey in any form. I sweat way more playing roller hockey since the rinks aren't cooled haha. I tore up my wheels playing on asphalt last summer so I need some new ones

Haha my favorite form of cardio. More of a sprinter than long distance. I'm gonna pick up a tire this week or next to do some weighted sprints so I can kick it up a notch
 
Ya used to do them in the off season for hockey. Just gotta get a dip belt, some rope and a tire. Might try out prowler pushes with it too that I saw online
 
Deload chest at home tonight. 3 sets of 10 DB press with 40s supersetted with pullups. 5 sets of 10 dips. Keeping it light

Thanks man! Gonna have to buy new clothes or wear belts more. Shorts I've had for years are slipping down more. Half of my athletic shorts slip off easily
 
Weighed in at 171 flat this morning. Kinda stalled. Only a loss of .6 pounds but I feel and look lighter. Couple pics, I need to find a place with better lighting haha

weight loss appears to stall, yet you continue to look leaner and more defined
and THAT, is when shyte start getting fun :yup:
 
Yeeep. Id take losing only .6 llbs and dropping an inch in the waist any day of the week :)
 
Recomp is good and you have all the time in the world when on recomp. Don't have to get nuts till you set time limits...
 
Sorry for the lack of updates. Had the tournament all weekend, didn't end up winning but it was still lots of fun and lots of cardio. Feelin leaner. Gonna get to the gym later today for day 1 of SL5x5 and then I got another hockey game at 7 for one of my men's leagues
 
Fun is the most important thing... it's more fun when you win but doesn't mean you can't have fun if you don't.
 
Ya plus it was for charity so I'm not really mad at the losing. Had a mens league game last night and then lifted afterwards. First day of SL 5x5 went off without a hitch. Just had to check my ego at the door since I am using lower weights.

Weighed in at 169.8 lbs so still losing. Hit day 2 of SL5x5. Took about 30 minutes, 10 minutes of HIIT on the bike afterwards.
 
Workout for the day was shoveling 1300 lbs of crushed concrete into the bed of my lifted truck, shoveling it out of the bed into a trash can since my parents threw away the wheelbarrow when they moved. Had to drag that across the yard to and deadlift the bottom of the trash can to dump it out. Doing that a few times got the sweat going good

Ya it worked out. Finished up workout 3 of 5x5. Can't say I'm not a little sore. Squatting 3 times a week will do that I guess. Gonna rest for a bit, pick up a wheelbarrow and then get that half ton of sand to do some more work
 
Got all the sand moved and everything. Worked up a sweat in this heat. Couple days off and then Monday I'll be back in the gym. Over a month in and I'm still seeing daily changes in the mirror.
 
Hung out with a girl last night I hadn't seen in months (Like maybe September 2012 when I was clocking in at 200). Needless to say she was impressed. Loving this haha
 
Back in the gym today. Still finding the groove for 5x5. Squatting I did 2 seconds down, 2 seconds in the hole and then explosive up. Felt pretty good. I'm still not used to the lower weight but I'm gonna keep going. Kinda weird not going heavy

A friend of mine keeps a twenty five pound dumbbell behind his desk at work and pounds out some curls and Tricep Extensions at work from time to time. I always give him a hard time about it lol.

Haha it passes the time but my friends give me a hard time too. Calling me a meathead and what not. I just like to lift haha
 
On another note, I am sitting around 169 lbs and I have upped my calories and started adding some carbs back in. No more CKD and I am staying at around the same weight with my muscles looking fuller. Liking it. Carbs are around 50-70g per day right now. Gonna up it to around 100g later this week.
 
So heartbroken right now. My Sharks just lost game 7. Gonna go lift
 
LA and... I think a Chicago Pittsburgh matchup would be best. The two youngest captains to win a Stanley cup facing each other.
 
Just finished up another 5x5 workout. With a little bit of waiting, my roommate and I finished up in about 40 minutes. 165 on squat, 105 on bench and row. Steady progression

Thanks guys! Today is a rest day so I'll probably go on a jog in a bit, work some abs and do some pull ups.
 
Rest day yesterday turned into curls, tricep extensions, flies, lat raises, front raises, pull ups and hanging knee raises. Did the curls and tricep extensions as a superset. Did flies, lat raises and front raises as a triset. Pull ups and hanging knee raises as a superset. Finished off with some men's league hockey.

So much for rest haha I got bored around the house with nothing to do so why not make it productive. Ran a half mile to the gym today. Did squats, OHP and deads today in the gym. Shoulders were a little scorched from the random work yesterday but I still finished all of my sets. Ran the half mile home and now I have to pick up a ton of flagstone to lay down in my parents backyard today and tomorrow. Fun! Gonna enjoy having Sunday off
 
I love the gym but I like my time off too. On rare ocassion I am bored on an off day I will go for a long walk of prepare for the week etc...

Ya time off is crucial. The unplanned, non-rest day fatigued my lifts a little so I won't be doing that again. I should probably start going on walks to clear my head but I find that the gym works best for me for relieving stress. Just gotta plan it so I am on a working day when I am stressed haha
 
I think the old guns respect rest days more than us young bloods. I took a week off last week because my body has been under a lot of stress for a long time. Staying out of my basement was so hard but in the end it's for the best haha
