Uh, I appreciate your concern, but supplements are so widely used and the industry is so huge that its highly unlikely. There would be a black market boom if they did. Its well known that supplementation is helpful for health. These supplement companies pay taxes too. Reference for outlawed EU supps? I think that would have been in the news.

If this does happen...... it'sjust another way the goverment is trying to make money...I think it's bs....they say dont eat this,eat healthy,take care of your health...OH YEAH where thinking about taking away those things that help keep you healthy.

European Herbal Regulations
Here in Europe they finally passed the EU Herbal directive - this bans any 'medicinal' herb without a drugs licence, which has essentially destroyed all but a few major pharma producers who can still afford the 5 year patent and licencing drive. We have lost everything with herbal ingredients more or less and all herbs now have to prove a 15 year record of use within the EU or 30 years safety record outside of the EU, which basically means, we can't buy anything. We have supplement stores being busted for selling Milk Thistle extract now.
Within the next 12 months we'll also have the codex on vitamins and minerals which will set maximum safe levels at RDAs (so Vitamin C at 60mg daily for example).
The EU ban means most of us have turned to buying sports supplements from the USA (although many companies are in such a precarious position they are still selling illegally to hold onto their jobs I guess). If you guys lose the industry, it's going to be a disaster.
The problem with the EU ban that you might not have heard as much in the USA, is it's a ban from Europe, but each European country decides how quickly to enforce it. The UK for example has been quite strict and is currently pulling anything herbal or containing BCAAs at customs it finds. Obviously we still order in, but it's actually now easier to get AAS from a Euro pharmacy than it is to buy a detox blend with milk thistle...

Thanks for sharing this so we know what you're putting up with over there. This is just a total croc and completely unconstitutional. I will lobby and fight tooth and nail to stop this.

If the EU has restrictions eventually these greedy dirt bags over here will do the same.As a previous poster said, smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol all you want because they are getting huge kickbacks from those industries.Yet , if there are relatively safe supplements that actually work, well since big pharma would prefer you to have to have oodles of side effects, they have to ban everything else.Kinda messed up that the older people in my family and just in general have to take 5-15 pills just to counter the side effects of original prescriptions.

I don't think you quite understand what socialism is. Even if you want to try and associate it with Marxism, (which is ignorant and detracts from the real arguement), the end goal would be a self governing society, not one with a cetralized government. Quite the opposite of what is actually going on. Republicans aka fascists, (look up the definition and tell me it's not accurate, I dare you), have done a good job with their propaganda and have made us a divided, misinformed country. As long as the infighting continues the hidden hand will continue the rape our country. It's synthetic THC and is 2 schedules less than natural THC, marijuana. Had a good laugh with this one. What you quoted doesn't say socialism equals self-governance. Read it again. Here's a hint, pay attention to what is in parentheses.
Re-read my whole post again, and I just can't find where it is that I mentioned anarchy by name which by defintion means an absence of government, not self governance.
The quote at the bottom assumes the person has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and thinks for themselves. Someone who never hesitates to ask, why?

It's already happened in several countries in Europe, so the threat is very real. The FDA counts on people saying "it won't happen in the USA". It's scary stuff. Big pharma is a major threat to the world and our health. They have too much money and power, and will only become more powerful with the regulation of supplements. Myself and many other people I know have all stopped taking prescription meds and replaced them with supplements that control our problems (with NO side effects). It's a trend that occuring across the country and big pharma is trying hard to change that.
