A log with vague goals

That is quite dramatic. And the dog didn’t get hurt. I have witnessed a few dog fights and it is a god awful sound. My old Rottie got into it w a couple pit bulls. He was no talk, all action. Wouldn’t even bark or growl, he’d have his hackles up and look as big as he could and they always went after him. He was a good closer.
 
Been resting all week, I did go to work at the gym and everyone else's stuff but I'm still hurting and of all places it's not as .much my foot as it is my shoulder.

Been troubleshooting my diet and cycle all week and I came across something intriguing. Coffee on a empty stomach can spike your blood sugar. Even if your coffee has no sugar in it. The more caffeine you consume on a empty stomach the more it potentially can raise it. Some people have no significant change at all and some people have a quite significant change of < 10mg/dl causing a brief morning nausea.

Pretty much every morning I drink a bunch of coffee before I eat breakfast I have this hour where I feel sick and I just don't want to go to work and about 9:30 rolls around and magically it's gone and I wonder if that is the cause.

Obviously I'm going to have to do some experimenting.

I grabbed a extra 2 bottle of test and eq and another GH kit just because I know I want to stretch this cycle out because everything has been going so good except for this stupid little injury. But something funny happened. My local guy now is selling microdose mushrooms and edibles, and small quantities of shrooms and weed lol. I asked the dude what's all this lol. He said he's been getting lots of requests for the microdose mushrooms so he just started doing it and figured he'd throw the other things in there. I'm interested to see if this is a trend. Apparently he said he knows some of his competition does it so he's trying to keep up with them 😂🤷 I grow my own pot but I actually thought it's a great idea, most of the guys I know who are into the gym and fitness life either smoke weed or eat edibles. I'm not sure why maybe because they don't drink?

I just bought a cheap glucose meter and will try this as well. I usually do the same as you. Minimum of 2 cups of coffee between 4 and 5 am before my 1st meal at 7:30

It's not actually the coffee, it's the caffeine itself and I guess the more caffeine the more it happens.

I don't know if it actually is the cause,it just caught my attention and it would make a lot of sense

As for the shrooms, maybe a microdose but as much as I would love to watch the pictures melt off the walls for 6 hours I don't think it will go over well with Tracy and the kids lol

Yeah I was just kidding…. I like cannabis too, but definitely don’t want anything to do with shrooms. I tried LSD a couple of times back in college in the 80s, and found out real quick tripping like that wasn’t for me.

I, also, do not trip well. First time was 3 hits at Ozz Fest and was a bit overwhelmed. Not pleasant. Tried 1 hit, no bueno. Split a hit w my wife when we first started dating and that was the sweet spot. But if you can only do a tiny amount of something w/out “going off the rails on a crazy train” should you really be doing it at all?🤪

All stimulants raise adrenaline, which causes the body to dump some glucose into the bloodstream for available energy to fight or flight. It’s also going to curb appetite by stimulating that same sympathetic nervous system. Blood vessels dilate, cortisol rises, it’s an empowering but ultimately stressful nudge.

Of note, this adrenaline glucose dump does NOT break a fast; it tends to deepen it. So this does not present a metabolic/health problem assuming you use an amount you feel good on - unless you are using caffeine round the clock, spending far too much time turning up. That’s going to slow recovery because it will diminish bloodflow, digestion speed, and insulin resistance over time.

But even decaffeinated coffee can cause some stomach unrest/nausea in some - not only can the acids do this, but even decaf coffee relaxes the esophageal sphincter somewhat (which is how coffee promotes heartburn).

TLDR too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

I was 50/50 with tripping. I never tried acid just mushrooms. My setting or environment or I'm not quite sure but whatever makes the difference between a good trip and a bad trip was very important for me because I had some good ones and I had some bad ones. Not many bad ones though and none that were so terrible I wouldn't do it again except now I'm just a little too old lol. Too many people to judge me in too many ways for me to make a fool of myself 😂. I did actually trip on salvia several times. I loved how it was like tripping on mushrooms to a degree but it only lasts like 15 minutes instead of 6 hours and then you can go back to your normal life lol. If that was still in the gas stations I'd probably still buy it. I actually looked it up not that long ago and it's still legal in like half the US I think. I don't know if they've watered it down compared to how it was 20 plus years ago But I'd say that stuff is a great intro to tripping or a great way to have a trip and then come back to reality without spending too much time risking yourself looking like a goddamn fool

The 3 hits time I Superman punched my friend in the face. March 98 broke ankle in a mosh pit. Asked group I was w not to push me into the pit. At second stage at what was then called Greatwoods in Mansfield. Life of Agony(ugly kid Joe singer by this time sadly) was on stage and my “friend” shoves me across pit, I spin, meet the other side of the circle w my back, get shoved as I leap across the pit and crack him across the face. As Happy Gilmore once said, “He shouldn’t have been standing there!” The backdrop visuals while Tool was playing in the main stage were quite intense.
 
Got the ol tren cough today, just without the tren. It was kinda bad too. This is only happened to me like three times in my entire life. Took a shot in the glute, 28g 1/2 in. It was 1ml Total of test and EQ. After I pulled it out I briefly had a odd tasting my mouth followed by a straining feeling in my throat and a light cough and over the course of about 3 minutes it progressed into an all-out coughing fit. I was actually starting to get worried and then it just completely stopped. Probably 3min total But it felt like an hour lol. I'm lean but not THAT LEAN. I was expecting a shallow IM shot, And honestly, I knew some of it would probably leak out sub q. Whenever I pin this spot I get a little bubble or bump or whatever you want to call it there but it doesn't seem to bother me so I don't think anything of it. Not today, none of it went sub q at all so some of it must have slipped through a vein or I don't know what but it caused the coughing fit worth mentioning lol.

It was definitely one of those things back in the day that I didn't think was real because I had never experienced it and everybody used to act like if you took a shot of tren there was a 90% chance you're going to get Tren cough. Until one day I got it from a shot of testosterone. So I started doing all my research and figuring out what causes it and realized it's not trend it just is more likely with tren and anything can cause it. Maybe I should just stop blindly shoving needles into any section of my ass cheek thinking it's fair game lol

Yeah I’ve had a couple glute shots over the years that I had a metallic taste and burning as some of it is coursing through the veins, but I think only in glutes. Definitely one had DHB in the mix, can’t remember if both.

I was always told delts were a spot it was more likely to happen and I've never got it from that. I also was told quads were bad for that, and although I don't pin my quads very often I've never experienced it with a quad pin. I've actually had a very pain-free easy experience with injecting quads, I've never gone more then 1ml per side but never had an issue. It's one of those spots that for a very long time scared the crap out of me cuz everybody said you shouldn't do it I want to say the damn the bodybuilder from Thailand leg infection scared the crap out of me back in the day, and I think it was Dave palumbo who used to tell people you should never inject quads because of whatever reasons so I always had a fear. But 1ml with a slin pin I found injection sites on the quad and outer quad sweep (not that I have much quad sweep lol) but both sites are relatively pain-free injections with no issues other than the fact that the doms are a little bit worse there sometimes.

Ended up getting a fever yesterday too, don't think it was related but for about the past 10 days I went from everything going right and being perfect to everything that can possibly go wrong keeps going wrong lol.

Yeah that does suck…..hopefully you won’t have anymore setbacks, and start feeling better, so you can get back in your groove. You were actually going good without any injuries or setbacks for a while there. It is weird how that happens, everything going smoothly, and then boom, like three things in a row hit. That’s kind of how my whole year was last year.

I'm seeing a huge increase in mushroom interest up here in the PNW. people using it as treatments, discussing neuroplasticity and the ability to create new neural pathways, which doesn't interest me, that is the part that turns me off to mushrooms actually. But Joe Rogan had Dr Rick Doblin on a podcast (may 9th if you look it up) and it was really good. he talked about incredible success using psychedelics for vetereans with severe PTSD and depression. IIRC, they truly had very very good success. Mel Gibson was on a while back too and discussed how hyperbaric treatments healed his brain damage (which he blamed on early years rugby/brain injuries, and said accounted for the many times we've seen him go off the rails.). Dr Doblin's work with psychedelics seemed to have very similar results but would likely cost FAR less for the average person than 200 hyperbaric chamber sessions. (which is expensive AF!)

I know back when they were experimenting with LSD as a neuro treatment back in the day they did find a lot of benefits, especially for people with brain trauma and some mental illnesses but one of the problems they continued to face was the unpredictability of how the drug affected different people with seemingly the same conditions. They thought they would have consistencies between batches when tested in the lab, but a lot of times in the trial studies they couldn’t consistently control how the drug affected brains with the same conditions many times, so eventually it was abandoned. But mind you LSD has been studied throughout our government in almost every neurological area imaginable. It’s just tricky being able to chemically control areas of the brain without numerous other areas being affected. I know mushrooms act through similar pathways as LSD, but maybe scientists have figured out ways to control it better. Ha, but don’t we see that with a lot of drugs, as far as different people can be affected differently. Actually the studies on the hyperbaric chambers are very promising and interesting, but like you said not everyone could afford that. And I do believe the micro dosing of shrooms, as well as cannabis, has been proven to help people with PTSD, which is so huge, that it’s warranted to keep funding studies for that. They’ve even proven cannabis to help epilepsy patients and even children with different conditions that cause seizures. And of course we had our “studies” with cannabis,especially in the 80s and 90s, to chill out in the evenings with or use to help with stress or pain, and I must say my personal studies were very successful, and I would still rather have a little cannabis than to take a pain pill or nerve pill, any day of the week. I’m just glad the government is getting more open minded now and doesn’t just label everything as evil like they did 40 and 50 years ago.

Exact same experience with the quads, been doing a ton of carnitine and my daily shots there this cycle since everything is within 1ml slinpins. Use them both weekly for sure. Pecs, delts, quads, sometimes lats gives me 6-8 sites to rotate while never tightening up my hips/glutes (which can affect my back health or hitting correct positions in heavy lifting). As long as I mind not doing pecs until after a pressing day, and quads until day of or after lower, it works out beautifully. I find the quads still work great being injected immediately preWO, but I don’t like to train the pecs when freshly injected or day prior, makes them a tad stiffer.

Bro, you gotta remember that all competitors operate in real life. Everyone you see that’s accomplishing anything in lifting still has potential for sickness, work, life stressors, grief, injury. They all happen to everyone. Yes being a welder is harder than working at the DMV, but that aside people always have some trials - it never ends. Even positive stuff like family visits, holidays, vacations will come up for most that always require adjustment to an ideal schedule.

I’m sorry to hear you’re sick & I hope you feel better FAST, but I was told that long ago by veterans and it really helped. ALL the guys you see killing it at meets have tweaks and injuries at points in prep, working around issues, or bad life stuff happened, or they had to work mad overtime for months, or they got an infection/sick. So what you see is what they could put together DESPITE life being life; it’s almost never a perfect run.

So as long as you’re doing the best you can with what you’ve got in your real life, be proud of yourself & remember it could be worse. You are lean, have a great muscular base, good gear, excellent knowledge of diet, training, supplementation - you will kill it despite this!

Since I drive around 2+hrs a day I have a lot of "free" time to listen to podcasts but if you get a chance you might like that one I mentioned on Joe Rogan. the doc does mention LSD but whatever they were using was different. He said they pulled the patients into separate group rooms if I remember right and each micro dosing was accompanied with in person therapy as well so there were two controls, first being the product administered and second being the experience while on it. They had a placebo group and a real group, they documented widespread improvement on the real group and sadly they saw far far worse depression continue to develop in the placebo group.

I agree with you across the board. If I take a dayquil or an ibuprofen, I am probably feeling pretty crappy. Otherwise my wife and I as you know tend to self medicate. a bad winter head cold will get Pho for dinner and a bourbon hot toddy on the couch before bed. 9 times out of 10 that does the trick. the tenth time we might reach deeper into the pharmacuetical bag of tricks. but we try to push those things out as far as possible whereas the 20 year old version of me 23 years ago would likely have immediately reached for any pharma bandaid at first onset and had worse overall health.

He said he's been getting lots of requests for the microdose mushrooms so he just started doing it and figured he'd throw the other things in there. I'm interested to see if this is a trend. Apparently he said he knows some of his competition does it so he's trying to keep up with them 😂🤷 I grow my own pot but I actually thought it's a great idea, most of the guys I know who are into the gym and fitness life either smoke weed or eat edibles. I'm not sure why maybe because they don't drink?
Yeah, that makes sense, it increases cortisol which increases insulin sensitivity, which when already on low blood sugar is likely to tell the liver to dump some glycogen into the blood stream. I have tested my blood sugar once recovered from a bout of hypo without eating, and my blood sugar goes up into my fed levels from the glycogen release from the liver.
 
Some updates, I been kinda sick and injured, now I'm starting to feel better. I haven't done any big lifts or anything challenging in the past week or 2 until yesterday and damn I'm sore everywhere.

During these two weeks I actually still kept up with a little bit of cardio and kept my calories pretty low and I actually cut up pretty good with all factors considered. Im thinking I should go into maintenance mode with everything till the end of the month or until everything feels back to normal. I'm not particularly worried about a few extra weeks on test and EQ. I originally planned to run this straight through till fall anyway.

Nothing else worth mentioning. Oh, I did pull the GH out, so I still have enough to run 4 units for 7-8 more weeks

Since you asked I'm gonna have to admit I did some foolish cardio lol, but initially I was going super easy. I definitely started out with lower intensity I was actually just jogging circles on the wrestling mats twice a day for like 15 minutes or so. Then I do a little bit of light stretching and Shadow boxing and not really doing much just kind of moving around.

Eventually I started doing some of my old wrestling warm ups and my knees did not thank me for that, I actually couldn't do them correctly and it took me about a half an hour of going through the motions and slowly picking up speed at some of these things before I could do them even similarly to how I used to. And I am going to add that I'm pretty sure I can get those back with a little bit of flexibility training because I'm not terribly far off but it's probably a foolish idea.

Saturday I went in for double sessions, I did an hour of jump rope and heavy bag back and forth with a few rests in between. I actually left the gym went and got breakfast over at the shack stop by my buddy's house and then went back to the gym and did another hour of the exact same thing.

Yesterday is where I got really reckless with it I did a s*** ton of Pull-Ups some behind the neck pull Downs with light weights but lots of reps pullovers and then I went in on a heavy bag way too hard for six rounds.

And today everything hurts but it's not injury hurt it's more sore although my knees are still complaining from days ago.


What’s your test and EQ dosages again right now?
Should be 450/450 but I missed a few shots in the past 2 weeks. Id assume levels are steady enough at this point tho that missing 2 or 3out of my last 7 pins probably didn't change much.

I pre mixed the 2 and every ml is 150/150 now so I'm gonna pin Monday Wednesday Friday for convenience. For some reason when I pin daily I miss shots more. it's like if I'm running late I just skip it knowing i took one yesterday and gonna take one tomorrow. When I'm pinning less frequently maybe subconscious I'm thinking Its more important not to miss one?

I have come to like the daily injections for the opposite reason. If I forget one day and want the same weekly dose after missing a day I can just double up the next day and move on. It isn't such a big jump that it is gonna cause a problem. I am actually planning to continue to run my TRT this way when I get back from Destin, probably 20mg daily for a while and see how that works out.

I think I might start doing some heavy back work as a two fold strategy. I miss it for one and would like to harden my hands and get my legs kicks back in check. So easy to end a fight with a leg kick if someone doesn't know how to take it the fight is over. Second, I think the footwork will help increase ankle strength back to a more athletic level.

I think all the boxing drills I do very much contribute to the flexibility in my ankles because I can still squat ass to grass with perfectly flat feet even though I'm not very flexible in other ways. For being 40 years old I can still run very fast and jump very high and I have a lot of ankle flexibility despite breaking one of those ankles pretty severely. It was actually the calcaneus so the heel bone not the actual ankle but nonetheless. I contribute all the boxing stuff and staying active to that.

It's usually when I make quick side to side movements that something goes wrong.

I'm always looking for ways to make cardio enjoyable because I can't stand it. I wish I had long distance cardio but I don't at all I'm great for short bursts of high intensity but I gas out quickly despite doing cardio far more often than the average person. I've always kind of been built that way but then again I've never practiced for cardio endurance maybe I should throw some long distance jogging back in my routine or something.

But but like you said, I need podcasts or something to get me through long distance steady state cardio it is terrible lol

Yeah, it is all the in and out and lateral movements I think will help restore ankle strength. I will just have to start slow and build up.

I use to listen to that pretty regularly, but I lost interest when anabolic bodybuilding got popular. Lately I've had a hard time keeping up with any of my podcasts cus works been all over the place and I'm also working at the gym now too. Soo I rarely have headphones in unless I'm completely doing my own thing. A few years back, beast fitness radio was my go-to and I would probably listen to five to eight episodes a week. I would regularly even go back to old episodes cuz there was a lot to actually learn on the pharmacology side of things.

Dr. Todd lee, anabolic bodybuilding and a canibus cultivating podcast are the main 3 now but I'm severely behind on all of them so I guess I've got lots of cardio to do lol

It was a tiring workout but other than my knees being a little sore it wasn't bad. These weights are pretty reduced in comparison to what I was doing two weeks ago but it was fairly good weights.

I'd say this workout was a 7 out of 10

He has taken over Joe's spot for me. I love About Last Weekend! Like you said he asks great questions, is an awesome interviewer but still brings the comedy. I love how he describes things with such off the wall comparisons.

That 225 set was absolutely supposed to be miserable lol. I know that was going to be the most challenging part of the workout and all the light hack squats were for some extra volume. I think il alternative a day like that with the regular deadlift day I'm normally doing on Thursday.

So one workout would be lots of sets working up to a 3 rep and possibly a single and then back and biceps

The other day I could do a couple 7-10 rep sets and do the workout with the 20 rep box squats.

I'm trying to teach some of these kids how to be more explosive and hit harder. Box squats, zurchers and loaded carries or farmers walks are a big part of that. I have them box squats heavy 3-5, zurchers for sets of 10-12 and farmers walks and some 25-30 yard walks with just enough weight that their grip doesn't fail or only fails maybe once or twice over 3 sets. I do these with them sometimes and if I scale the weight up to my strength to match there's I'm doing 365lb box squats, 145lb zurchers and carries with 50's. It's no fukin joke lol. Rest is only 1-2 min on the box squats and 30sec-1min on the zurchers and farmers walks
