That's what I say as well but I have to have my head shaved or my hair line makes it obvious i'm older40! But If anybody asks I'm 27
I got a full head for the most part, my beard is half grey But when I keep it shaved to stubble it's not very noticeable lol, And I don't have any gray hair in my head yet other than maybe a random here and there but when it comes to my hair turning gray I'm probably going to dye it lol. I know everybody thinks it's stupid I know everybody says salt and pepper looks good but it makes me feel oldThat's what I say as well but I have to have my head shaved or my hair line makes it obvious i'm older![]()
Just make sure if you go that way you commit to doing it every two weeks. Nothing looks worse than people who get the dark hair dye with 1/8-1/4 inch of gray growing at the roots. You might start with the little paint on stuff that use something that looks like a mascara brush to touch up the small spots.I got a full head for the most part, my beard is half grey But when I keep it shaved to stubble it's not very noticeable lol, And I don't have any gray hair in my head yet other than maybe a random here and there but when it comes to my hair turning gray I'm probably going to dye it lol. I'm trying so hard not to get old, I'm in an all-out sprint running away from Father Time Even though I know he's going to catch me
It's funny you say that about the keeping up with it. I have a few hairdressers in the family and one of my best friends is my barber and he already said to me when you start dying your hair you better make sure you're getting a haircut every week so we can touch it up or you're going to look like a dumbass lolJust make sure if you go that way you commit to doing it every two weeks. I earned my gray hair, and am proud of my age, so I don't care about it personally. Of course I had going bald to worry about, so gray was the least of my worries. LMAO. If it makes you feel any better, I had a lot of gray by your age. Of course you don't see it unless I am being lazy and don't shave my head for a few days.
Once you're in a groove, I find group training (xfit style) to be way more fun. It feeds our A.D.D. to be watching a handful of people at a time, throwing cues at them, working them, etc. I mean I wouldn't tell people to sit there and hit 1 rep max snatche AMRAPs for 20 minutes or anything lol but for basic workouts it can be pretty fun to coach a group.I will say that running a group class is a bit different than training people one-on-one especially training people for athletics versus weight lifting.
Amen, I'm way happier with my 40sYou're in your Prime..!!
I'd give a testicle to be 40 again..
I didn't say it would be one of mine..
LOL

Agreed! Only turning 43 this fall myself but I don't mind the grays popping up at all. I think they confuse people when they see I'm fit with decent skin still on the face but greys popping up on the beard and around the ears. Those are my racing stripes.
I'm convinced I'm not old as long as I still exhaust the wife. Although she thinks the way I yell at people on my grass indicates otherwise. But I don't wanna get old![]()
Sponge bath followed by a visit from HR!!!!
The problem with our HR is quite a few are hot and like tight clothes……it’s just not fair. That’s entrapment.Sponge bath followed by a visit from HR!!!!
Yeah, what is that about? Seems like the HR people tend to be very attractive. It is like you said, are you all trying to entrap us having Hottie McHotterton as the HR coordinator...The problem with our HR is quite a few are hot and like tight clothes……it’s just not fair. That’s entrapment.![]()

Same here. Mine is very narrow and I usually drag up shines. I remember when I first started deadlifting my shins would bleed all the time when deadlifting. Now I think my skin has a high tolerance on my shinsAnyone who deadlifts, what is your guys foot placement like. How wide, do you drag the bar up the shins a little or slightly out in front. Just curious. I've watched a ton of videos, my stance is very, very in narrow. Going back through my little 10 sec clips it's got closer over the past few months
I do remember that at the deadlift comp last year... Damn I think it was 2 years ago. Time is flying. But I remember the judge saying my stance was extremely narrow, he usually advises against that type of stance but he also said my form was really good so he can't really critique it much. I've actually been told a few times that I bench and deadlift like a bodybuilder and the critique is usually that I need to learn how to lift like a powerlifter. The problem is I can't. The wide grip bench kills my shoulders and the wider my deadlift gets the more my knees feel it.Same here. Mine is very narrow and I usually drag up shines. I normally deadlift in skate shoes, sometimes barefoot too lolA week of seated GM and some isolations will probably only do you good; sorry that happened.
Inside my shoulders slightly at this bodyfat, shoulder-width when fatter. Narrow is good; it shortens the pull and gets hips closer to the bar for more leverage. Most great conventional pullers have a fairly narrow stance as long as they aren’t fat & have strong low backs. If you rely on more quad or especially if you get fatter, you’ll have to bring the feet out to accommodate.
You always want it close to the shins as possible during the pull. If it’s away from the body you’re increasing the leverage/strain on your low back dramatically & leaking energy. It doesn’t have to drag, but there better not be a big gap. I wear old knee sleeves over my shins in training, and long socks at the meet.
Also, take those mothereffin’ pillow heels off when you deadlift. JFC that’s terrible for your mechanics; imagine what you could do if you were in something properly flat without cushion. I like wide-toed shoes, but even a narrow flat like a skate shoe, flat, slipper would be a big improvement. Just keep a pair at the gym or in your bag if you don’t want to use socks. You can’t do only socks in powerlifting, but often can in strongman.
Those with holes in them would be 10x better than foam heel for serious pulls. This pair is getting worn out
Wouldn't my boxing and wrestling shoes be really good? There very similar to those old otomix weightlifting shoes You used to see in the back of the magazines that were like 150 bucks in the '90s.Those with holes in them would be 10x better than foam heel for serious pulls.
The thing about trainer shoes is, in CrossFit where they’re so popular you’re not typically even using 315. So just jerking 225 around it’s not as big of a deal, but when we talk about training the deadlift or squat for maximal strength those shoes are entirely suboptimal (even unsafe in some ways).
I know a lot of guys that wear wresting shoes that compete in powerlifting. I think you’ll be fine with those since they’re flat bottom shoes.![]()

Damn that brings back memories of when I use to buy Muscle & Fitness mags. The Otomix, Ultimate OrangeThere very similar to those old otomix weightlifting shoes You used to see in the back of the magazines that were like 150 bucks in the '90s.
If you wanna pay the shipping il mail you some old magazines. I bought one pretty much twice a month from high school till I was like 30Damn that brings back memories of when I use to buy Muscle & Fitness mags. The Otomix, Ultimate Orange, and the CELLTECH 2 page add.
I also use a narrow stance to take the stress off my knees, also have 8 screws and a 5 hole plate in my ankle so centering the load right over my feet w/out any inward or outward angle laterally works best. I drag up my shins…Anyone who deadlifts, what is your guys foot placement like. How wide, do you drag the bar up the shins a little or slightly out in front. Just curious. Do u have one w Lee Priest on the cover in black and white? If you wanna pay the shipping il mail you some old magazines. I bought one pretty much twice a month from high school till I was like 30. There's a whole mountain of them sitting in the bottom of my girlfriend's closet just because I ran out of places to put them and I don't want to keep them in my attic because it gets a thousand degrees in the summer and I don't want to ruin all the pages. I don't even ever look at them anymore. It's weird, I don't really feel like I need to keep them but something won't let me throw them in the garbage.
Damn dude! Ice that shiz. Doesn’t matter if it’s Vanilla Ice, Ice Cube, but prob not Ice-T. You prob got a killer pimp limp going though.WellI'm glad to know in a emergency situation I still "got it" lol, but it may have set me back a few weeks.
My little brother lives next to me, he's got a 10yr old pitbull Nala who adores ppl and HATES OTHER ANIMALS. I'm in my house and I hear my brother screaming and a lady screaming and then another lady yas yelling and I flew down stairs barefoot hurdle the railing down to the driveway (barefoot) the new neighbor has a dog and a Luna jumped the fence. I separated it and threw her back over the fence. Thank God the neighbors dog wasn't aggressive because he could have mauled me while I was carrying our dog.
Long story short, after the adrenaline rush wore off I realized i couldn't walk very good. Definitely not as bad as When I broke it 10 years ago but I won't be deadlifting, boxing or working for probably a week. At least I can run the classes. It's not terriblely bruised but it's swollen and looks funny. I wager I can do leg ext and hamstring curls no problem so il probably superset those in place of deadlifts for a week or 2. Maybe do some seated good mornings. Technically a deload wouldn't be bad either. I been riding the gain train for a while now. Might be worth a pit stop

Awesome! I wish I would have kept all of mine from years back. I had so many I threw a lot of them away
Same boat. You could tell who read it and who didn’t. I forget if it was Kevin Levrone, Chris Cormier, or maybe Dexter Jackson, either way, that months Muscle and Fitness featured an article for killer arm workout. It highlighted rev grip tricep push downs and cable curls in a squat position with your elbows on your knees like a preacher curl.Awesome! I wish I would have kept all of mine from years back. I had so many I threw a lot of them away![]()
My power area is a bit wider than most on a conventional pull. I am probably about as wide as you can go and still be conventional. Feet are just a little closer together than my squat stance was, bar basically touching my shins in the wedge, thumbs touching the outside of my shins, then drag up the shins and thighs. Oddly enough, my Sumo is only about 4 MAYBE 6 inches further apart than my conventional pulls. My pull is probably a little closer style wise to a leg press to break from the ground then using the hips to complete the movement. I just found this to be the way I could move the most weight personally.Anyone who deadlifts, what is your guys foot placement like. I hope there are no legal issues from that situation. So did you hurt your foot, or lower back? I am guessing the foot right?WellI'm glad to know in a emergency situation I still "got it" lol, but it may have set me back a few weeks.

Yeah any flat shoe without a big squishy sole will be fine. You just don’t want an angle or anything that can compress under the load, and ideally also not particularly thick sole either in a perfect world. Lots of guys have pulled well in wrestling shoes.Wouldn't my boxing and wrestling shoes be really good? There very similar to those old otomix weightlifting shoes You used to see in the back of the magazines that were like 150 bucks in the '90s.
I actually just looked them up they still make them and they have some really cool looking ones now I'm interested to see if I can use those for my boxing shoes lol
Mostly my heel, I think it's just a bad bruise. But as yesterday went on, lots of **** started hurting but it's all just sore. Not injury. I think all my joints are just made at me for launching myself over the railing. Her dog wasn't hurt. The lady did throw herself on the ground and act hysterical. It was very dramatic. I know it was definitely scary for her but the way she did it was kinda after it was over and looked a little extra. I would like to let the dogs meet through the fence while I'm standing there. I won't be able to make them get along but I'll be able to make her tolerate the other dog being there no problem. But I don't think she's going for thatMy power area is a bit wider than most on a conventional pull. I am probably about as wide as you can go and still be conventional.
