A Day In The Life Of Rocket

Congrats on another great nutrition day!

I go for walks as my main form of cardio when the weather gets nicer . Especially after a stressful work day , going for an hour walk or so in the woods by my work always clears my head and refreshes me like a good workout .
Yep, this is me too. As long as it is not too cold out I will go. I don't even mind if it is over 90 degrees outside, I will go out in 100 degrees just take extra water.

I just got word Hershey Penn State Medical Center just got approval for my Stem Cell transplant fully covered by insurance!!!

My insurance was not not going to cover it, so I ask how much it would be out of pocket, the reply ............ over a million dollars!

But in any other country.... $8000 lol.

Yeah, one of my coworkers had Hep-C and the meds were 1000 a day per pill for 40,000 total. He got it covered, but then found out it is $4-12 a pill elsewhere. So we are basically paying the difference for the socialized countries of the world so big pharma can make dat money! Go figure... I wouldn't want to give up the right to personalized insurance and better medical attention, but the fact we are just abused due to the system is also not okay!

A lot of people will go out of country to get surgeries done or run a course of cost-prohibitive but necessary medicine.

Take a $15,000 loan out, take unpaid time off work, and go stay in a hotel somewhere while you get fixed up.

Probably like $80 bucks in another country to be honest  I know in Mexico first thing you see when you cross the borders are medical locations cause people can't afford some treatments in US cause they are so expensive.

what was the reasoning to not originally cover it? I see that sometimes with bizarre cosmetic stuff, but for such an important procedure it seems like this is the entire freaking point of us bending over for insurance in the first place! I thank God this is working out for you!!!

Simple, profit margin, profit margin, oh and profit margin! If they deny almost everything only a few persistent people will fight them on it. Imagine how much money they can save that way!

that's frustrating but I'm glad at the end you are OK and getting the right treatment and saving a million bucks (LOL?)
i had a family member needing to take an ambulance ride from the hospital to a facility literally across the street. he could not be taken by a family member, had to be the ambulance... at full price, to cross the street.

One of my problems is this whole journey started on Feb 10, March 1st I went on Medicare so it gets a bit complicated. When I get a bill I don't think I should have my first call is, "OK Which Insurance Co. Did You Bill ?"

Good to hear! At the end of the day it's about you and achieving your goals within your control. Sounds like you're doing just that and over coming all the obstacles along the way!

Feeling good is also looking good! Enjoying your life & your positivity affect how you engage with and, ultimately, experience the world. Glad for you Rocket

Injectable carnitine is good for you! This is a big part of why it’s become more popular. It’s not that it’s a powerful PED; it’s just that keeping your levels up is essentially all positive! Your androgens work better, your bodyfat can be burned easier in a deficit, your thyroid converts T4 better, your endurance can be improved, it has positive nootropic/mood qualities, supports libido, improves sperm quality, promotes better metabolic health, can enhance restoration from food, it goes on.

I haven’t seen any reason not to use it, beyond the annoyance of injecting it frequently (and the technical risk of infection any time you break the skin for anything).

I had stopped using it when I was diagnosed, but I think I will start it up again

Looking Good Rocket! You have managed to preserve a lot. Considering your situation you look like an Olympian! Still look better than I do right now too!

Notes; One of the side effects of one of the drugs I am on is increased hunger, yesterday I just could not control it. I also felt like poop most of the day so that didn't help either. It is going to be a rainy weekend here in PA, so my plan is to take it pretty easy and let my body rest and heal, I feel lazy just typing this but I think I need it. Relaxing is not easy for me.

Left overs from two other meals, but it was so good!Invalid Link Removed

Still looking good, especially with everything you’ve been through. You’re holding your muscle good. I hate to hear that about your insurance. They truly do make it all about the money. Hopefully they’ll get that part worked out quickly, because it sounds like you have the right medical team and treatment plan. Glad to see you’re still eating good by the looks of those meals.👍

Food is never a problem, in fact the Doctor told me I may lose my apatite, my wife responded "I drought it" :ROFLMAO:

That's the same for me. I think the only times I loose my appetite is if I've had food poisoning and can't hold anything down.

You cam see in this picture where my port was installed, right above it what looks like a vein is a piece of plastic tubing that goes up to my neck, in a vein and than down into my heart. I like it much better than the PICC Line I had in my arm !!

Looks like you are responding well, your tricep is popping….how are your arms feeling after 4 days on that routine?

I get a very good pump when doing the routine, but they do not get sore? But my shoulders are tender to the touch after yesterdays workout ?

Looking good @Rocket3015 , I imagine this workout was meant to be done additionally to all other training including doing your normal arm work. It is likely more of a way to boost volume and increase cell swelling more than be the main driver of the growth. I can't remember if you have been doing your regular stuff along with it but I don't know if that is supposed to be your stand alone arm workout. I would imagine not. Do you have any reference material to verify if so?

For the 1st week I have not done any other arm work, but starting tomorrow, I will be doing my normal arm routine plus this.

@MrKleen73 I read about this program years ago, I believe it was originated by Robert Kennedy from MuscleMag Int. I have been reading a book by Jim Stoppani and he had mentioned in, and it just sounded like something that might do me goo right now.

After reading this again I need to change my approach a little, I have been doing 50 reps to failure with rest pause, but I need to choose a weight that I can do 60 reps and stop at 50.

I did my very quick 50-50 workout and headed to work. The steroid I get with my Chemo once again made me hungry, but I did keep my eating under control. They lifted the mask mandate at the cancer center and I am amazed at how much better I felt afterwards. I guess not breathing back in that Co2 makes a huge difference when your Red Blood Cells are low. No doctors tomorrow, Yea!!
