I agree that with so many products and methods people have a tendency to manipulate little details when they need to make a solid foundation with basic health and fitness first. When i hear what so many people are on and then see the lack of results i dont know why people are still doing so many supplements. You cant out work a bad diet and you cant supplement discipline.
I see these Out Of Shape "Personal Trainers" and Just Laugh !

Not "spun up" about anyone in particular...I just think its funny how people analyze the littlest BS (EAA, leucine sensitivity lol)...then most of them look like they either dont lift or just started lifting lol...

I agree with a lot of what you have said. I do like eaas, but I train hard and Have done a boatload of cardio. I guess I just assume people taking all these thing have to have been doing the basics first before jumping into the advanced methods.

That being said this whole thread is an advanced method of fat loss. This is a very extreme approach and was an experiment. When fasting for days on end things like aminos, electrolytes, water intake are all very important.

HGP I’m ready to see these pics! Shorts or pants please! lmao

Much better than:

I think it's funny with all these tips...most of these guys look like **** (like DC) and say they hate cardio lol...then they are on gear...wtf...

If you hate cardio...dont bitch about looking like ****
Nah, I'm not impressed by ur physique
Yes, we over-complicate lifting to the point we start counting molecules, instead of really digging into what's essential. Even though, cardio might not be as essential as we think.

I find it fun to research. Just what I like to do. I like knowlege, and I love understanding. I love to share info I found interesting. I happen to not care for cardio, and love to criticize my own self; only way to grow in every aspect of life. Keep chugging along guys.

Not much cardio here too. I'm a lazy fugg. Lifting faster will compensate. :)

When I did cardio, which I used to run and be a competative swimmer, was very difficult to gain lean mass. I switched to lifting weights, and began to gain lean mass, combined with a caloric excess of course.

I assume every place that takes taxes would have something like that, just didn't think it would be called IRS everywhere else.

Its all just a math problem. Cardio just adds a negative number so you can add a positive. Also helps circulation, lifespan, and gives you a higher vo2 max so you can perform and even do better when lifting because you can lift more intensly and explosively without running out of breath.

You can have a nice physique without cardio, but you cant be a real athlete withiut cardio.

Day 11

Shaved the rug off. Man...under my belly, I now have that "former fat man" loose skin. That's new.
Looking flat as a flounder. Will keep eating meat and some nuts during the day. Tonight is gym + carb loading. Now preparing a mountain of spaghetti for post gym.

True. Cardio produces endurance, and hardly can be considered an athlete without good endurance.

Not at hand. Taking cialis, that will do...in many ways. :)
Get it from grocery store. It will help the digestion, any bloat you may get, and how you feel after stuffing your face.

Taking betaine with the meal. After that meal, no amount of cialis will help to have sex. I may need heavy machinery to hoist me on my wife.

So id increase that to 1.5 gallons or even two during the week you wanna (recomp) let's call it. Try the sodium an potassium ratio Mrkleen suggested. It's highly individual. I noticed he just said he tried 5gr of sodium and 3 potassium my bad. He put anywhere from 3-5 potassium and 5-8. sodium.

I am quite confident you wanna have somewhere around 20% potassium and go from there.
Yes, when you start talking about athletes or people who work anywhere in heat then you will see the upper and come into play.
No that's correct 5gr is recommended max sodium. It's likely enough for most people too. I think it more the balance then the intake.
Yes it all has to do with balance and situation. Kind of like the food pyramid, it was a catch all that didn't seem to catch everyone.
I agree with this 100%

The US guidelines suggest about 2:1 potassium to sodium actually (2,200mg vs 4,700mg). However based on experimentation from Kleen’s suggestions I have found 2:1 up to 1:1 sodium:potassium to be pretty ideal.

In USA, Morton’s Lite Salt is about 1:1 salt:potassium - I use it heavily.
I was answering your quote was about ratios.

The people in that study are not athletes, or people training for hours sweating balls, or construction workers in Florida. The answer is not black and white - it’s person & situation specific. Personal response is big too. My father bloats awfully from all sodium, but I do much better as long as potassium is on board.

I will indeed say that 5g for most average folk should be plenty though.
Absolutely average folk, but those who work harder, or sweat more lose a lot more. Those who drink too much water are often out of balance too. No need for 1.5 gallons of water a day unless you are sweating horribly, and are far more likely to start flushing electrolytes especially sodium by drinking more than needed.

Remember though, those doing keto, and IM, and lift are going to utilize, go through, sweat and urinate out a lot more than the average joe, and those on a high carb diet.
Yes because the carbs help to hold the water in.
This is close to what I believe is about right. Though, I can’t remember my source reference. I usually strive for 1.5 to 1 potassium to sodium as that’s the balance that feels best.
This is right inline with the recommendation I was making at 3g & 5 or 5 g and 8 g.
Much better than:

I agree with him, what are we thinking here. Nobody anywhere else in the world talks about part of their hobby or interests in detail even if they aren't doing the basics. Fans of sports don't know all the stats of people even though they don't play, and NEVER discuss those details... Why would they waste their time. Oh because they enjoy it... I think we were all enjoying the conversation so we were getting something out of it.

Also as mentioned most of the people here discussing this already know the basics. Whether their discipline is high enough to capitalize on all of that is a different matter completely. However more knowledge means more success when it becomes implemented. However long it might take a person to get to be able to do that.

Maybe you meant *essential* amino acids

anyone? Nope?
I laughed.

Now whilst I ‘agree’ with this (I run 30-35km a week) unfortunately it seems (process of elimination) to be causing me some problems......literally had bloods back today showing top of range estro and shbg, just below mid range test, mid range lh/fsh but below range free test.

I know overtraining and stress can raise shbg. I know excess cardio can increase cortisol which can increase estro which increases shbg (which obviously lowers free test).

I’m assuming I don’t have the aids or cancer and that’s not the reason for high shbg. My diet and supplements are all geared towards optimal hormones, I don’t drink or smoke etc

If it weren’t for all the other mid range readings I’d say only being 6 -7 weeks post pct may be a factor but those readings make me think it’s the cardio.....which means cardio has decreased strength and increased fat gain......

My point (aside from wallowing in my own cesspit of despair) is that cardio isn’t always optimal (I’m not doing that much - many people wouldn’t see it as excessive)......which is strange for me to say as I love it and all the cardiovascular benefits it brings (and I think on cycle it’s essential for health - it doesn’t affect me negatively on cycle).

I could see how cardio could interfere with getting stronger if one is trying to bulk to a maximum, but how could it possibly increase fat gain?

Bro I was just thinking this. Cardio isn’t confined to a treadmill. I know a lot of strongmen that do medleys in their training for conditioning, but most wouldn’t touch a treadmill lol

Thank you. For now, any compliment is wasted on me as I see myself as having a LONG way ahead. This makes me more determined than ever to achieve my goals.

I think nobody has an idea HOW BIG this bowl really is, LOL. Its ridiculous. I swear I don't have any hint of carb craving. It will be torture.

No it looks mean, especially on a belly full of juice fresh off a full body training session - you need to focus before you begin, set phone aside, don’t talk to fam. Then lay into it and focus on why you’re doing this.

15 min later you can rejoin family life if you aren’t asleep!

I know you’re driven to get in better shape. You will get there..

Back from the gym...

Stopped on the way home and could not go any further, had cramps in ALL of my leg muscles. I ordered my daughter to run home and to bring me a bottle of water with a teaspoon salt mixed in. 5 minutes after downing the salt water I could walk again.
Even though I had two intra shaker bottles with 1gr sodium each, it was not enough. I also pre-loaded with 1gr potassium and 1.5gr sodium before gym.

While working out and sipping on the sugar saturated drinks, I felt like inflating. Skin was getting tight and strength got through the roof. Kept pumping all muscles without getting into the urge to ego lift.

Here a preview, that's how I looked 30 min after 45min training and 2 quart of fruit juice:

Looks promising, now eating , tomorrow final pics.
