3 month pogress pics

I dont know many (any, actually) big guys who have gotten to where they are by lean bulking the whole way. Easy to do when you are trying to go from 160 to 170. Once you break over the 200 mark or 225 mark depending on how tall you are, good luck adding 10-15lbs of mass without going on a true bulk

Got cha.

And you're probably right. That's why I can't throughly speak on it, a lot of guys do it and it works. Just that he's not to that level yet (I don't think) & I'm not downing him I am no where near that level either. Also anoter reason why I don't understand full is probably because I'm still green to this as well and I'm under 200lbs.

I hear ya, I'm learning here too, ya know it's good feed back and OP keep at it with your goals you will accomplish something.

Isnt a "lean bulk" just having some days during the week slight cal excess and some days slight cal deficit? That way over the long run you are gaining weight (assuming you are in excess more days than not) but you are not putting on much fat. It should work but is not very efficient.

No....

Lean bulking usually requires you to always be at a caloric surplus but it is a very fine line that you tread and not easy at all to achieve without the aid of anabolic steroids/Ph's.

The MAIN thng is proper macro nutrient distribution and knowing what those values are for your own body type.

Good answer

How can you guarantee that you are in a lean bulk though. You just said you have to be right above your maintenance. No one can count their calories that accurately/closely to ensure an excess throughout. And that is the same thing as a "bulk" then because if you can guarantee that you are in calorie excess the whole time there really is no distinction you are still "bulking". I suppose maybe people use the term "bulk" to mean eat everything you see so you gain a lot of fat as well.

honestly i dont think your BF is ALL THAT MUCH different from before and after, seems kind of proportional, but you definitely put on size, congrats.

i CANT WAIT to take anabeta/erase. getting my 2nd bottle of anabeta next week, then going to order some slinsane just for that extra partitioning once a day with my high(est) carb meal.

true.

my best friend, however, went from an overweight (always been a heavy, large guy, big bones, natural size type guy) 250 to a pretty cut 245 over the course of a few years. hes THE ONLY person ive ever seen lose that much fat and put on that much muscle at the same time (except when he tore his shoulder, he dropped down to like 195, then back up within a few months). it was like his fat was turning to muscle lol. plus, he went from benching like 205-maybe 225 (without working out is impressive as hell imo) to 405 over the course of those few years too.

having good genetic must be nice, i wonder what its like haha. i always joke with him (well, its technically NOT a joke) that hes gained twice the muscle and twice the strength as i in half the time.

my other friend used to be able to eat like 3 meals a day, drink 1 protein shake (probably 2k calories a day) in high school and put on size and strength like he was on steroids... it was insane. he was bigger and stronger in high school than most people our age now (he's torn his rotator cuff 3 times so he doesnt workout for strength or very hard anymore), and he followed NO DIET WHATSOEVER. he would eat a big mac and stuff like that a couple times a day and put on LBM like no ones business....

some people are just crazy with genetics.... sorry for the tangent haha

The term bulk IMO is in reference to an extreme excess of calories... what your describing is typically labeled a "dirty bulk"

You HAVE TO have an excess of calories in order to put on more mass. Its a fact (but of course one can do differently when on cycle, in that case youcan even be in what typically would be a deficit and still add LBM yet burn fat). Its fully dependent on your Macro distribution as I stated, you focused on the wrong part of my comment just cause you werent thinking the same...

If you are a person who easily puts on fat with CHO consumption then obviously the same 2500 cals ED isnt going to come from the same source as say someone like myself where my body can handle the extra carbs and typically not add unwanted fat...

SO for someone natty dieting in order to add muscle and not fat, "lean bulk", they should have a higher then maintenance diet (maintenance is just that, maintaining the same weight) usually with the excess cals sourced only from protein and healthy fats.

What would be the fat gains during these bulks corresponding to each name? I guess dirty bulk is eat everything so you will gain a lot of fat.. Lean bulk is staying at the same %bf? The distinction between lean bulk and a plain bulk is just confusing to me because I feel like everyone would want to minimize fat gain while building muscle (since you say bulking with excess fat gain is termed dirty bulk).

EDIT: I suppose this is all just semantics. In my head I equate the term "bulk" with what I'm sure you and others use for "lean bulk".

great work.... hate to be the bad guy, but you are a bit higher than 15% bf... closer to 17-20 IMO

Wish I was like that!

no.... everything in sight, no care for ratios or source of nutrients... dirty bulk

bulk, still clean eating BUT in excess of cals that CAN lead to fat gain as well but optimal for muscle growth at its fastest rate (usually fat gain is incurred at this point)

Lean bulk... excess of cals in proportions that suit only LBM gains and no fat, if even possible fat loss concurrently.... aka recomp.

This is at least how I define them and have found across the years this is how most reference it across the boards as well...

sorry for the confusion and yes its mostly just semantics.... unless you adhere to the general consensus... whatever YOU call it is fine

Yeah those definitions sound good to me. I've always been a fan of the classic bulking I guess because I still have yet to get to my desired weight (240). Almost at 210 though so perhaps I will give this lean bulk a try when I'm around 230.

no homo???? lol

YES HOMO, lol, jk.... it gets to the point where i see people and im thinking 'id do ANYTHING to look like that' lol

would you get the belly button tattoo also???

id say your bodyfat is way closer to 20-25%

id bulking id highly suggest switching diet to less meals HIGHER cals each meal, as when you bodyfat gets higher, leptin and insulin resistance seem to occur without warning.

which is why people who are lean when they bulk they do not get as fat as someone whose starting a bulk at a higher bodyfat say 14-17%

spacing meals 4-5 hrs apart, will have your leptin levels drop normally for good hunger signals, increase in ghrelin (GH secretogue) and better insulin sensitivity.

gains may be slower but fat gain will be as well.

We all know calories in and calories out is the way to lose body fat correct? and I'm guessing you should start with carbs first right?

This thread fell apart about 2 pages back. I couldn't even remember what is was about after I clicked on it and read a few posts. LOL

It is very hard, which is why I made the statement that the majority of people gain weight by true bulking.

A true successful lean bulk takes serious dedication and discipline

Biggest thing that jumps out on the before and afters is the huge arm growth. Too bad you didnt take before and after measurements. I bet it would have been crazy to see

I will say this, it does look like u took something stronger than AnaBeta I can say that 4 sure!

I think the fat gain from before to after looks similar proportion wise I think it was a pretty good bulk.

Have you tried it?

No sir! I want to know now though!

The people who initially tried it werent kidding when they said they loved it, its a great compound!

Measured with 1/2in tape today at 17 in on a poor pump (ran out of jack3d and tried a sample of 1mr. I felt so cracked out I had to quit after 3 sets) last measure was about a month and a half ago and I was a little under 16in (while on anabeta which has a huge affect on my fullness and hardness, which I have now been off of nearly a month, my pumps and hardness have defiantly gone down) I know that before I started 3 months ago I was significantly smaller than 16in as you can see from this pic. So good progress to say the least. I can post a current pic later

damn, i had to reread that a couple times, i thought you were saying THAT pic is 17in... man, that looks WELL under 16 to me, so thats really great progress, congrats.

im want to try anabeta NOW! sorry if i overlooked it earlier, but how old are you and how long have you been lifting? these are really great results you got

I lifted for a solid 4 years (not taking anything) then about 2-3 years that I did not lift or diet consistently, I've been lifting hard for about 4 months now, I'm almost 22. 5' 11"-6' and around 193lbs currently

Any updates on your current goals/stats/direction/stacks from not until the end of the year?

Just make sure to let your new muscle mature a bit before you cut. You put on some quality muscle... hate to see you lose any.

And fine you put on a little fat while bulking, Its really a pretty small amount especially for how much muscle you gained. You've done something right!

Edit: wow I just realized how late I am...

Amen to this...the longer you can maintain a certain weight the easier it will be to hold that muscle mass. You have to let homeostasis adjust to accepting your new mass as normal

I completely missed this thread.

The amount of weight you put on in this time is fantastic. Well done on the hard work. You can recomp your way to a fantastic physique.

Ben

Hey guys sorry for the delay on the updated arm pic, I dislocated my shoulder about a week ago and took a week off to let things heal a bit. I'm so pissed just when everything is going good something bad happens. Anyways I snapped a couple pics today so you can compare arm size to before. I'll repost the old pics for those too lazy to go back through the posts. Thanks for all those following my progress and I'll do my best to keep the updates coming. I will probly be waiting a while longer now to do this sd cycle so that I can heal. I want to be back to 100% for sure. Workout felt good today and had a really nice pump I picked up a new pwo (assault) since I ran out of jack3d and pes is taking their sweet ass time with theirs lol ... I'm pretty happy so far thinking I will like it better than jack3d. Anyways here you go

On adverage how long would you say this takes?

On adverage how long would you say this takes?

on "adverage", id say you need to continue trying to put on muscle...... you would be upset if you cut down now.... try to gain a few more lbs with good clean food....

and buy more anabeta!
