2 DAYS ON RECREATE/PWFULL/AP-feeling like an alpha FE-MALE !!!

22/2.2 . . . Don't make me break out the calculator . . . grrr . . . 10kg!!! :zx11pissed:

Well that is why some of my numbers look weird, like 33lb DBs, I mean it is 15kg  ...on that subject I want to be able to chain a 20kg plate and dip IT along with my 55ish kg (that is dry dragon weight :p) by the end of this cycle.... this could mean another 120pg + to this log :icon_lol:

THATS RIGHT BEYOTCH. Suck on the standard! :D

AHHH, Adams is back in his usual style Invalid Link Removed

:)

Chins and clean & press, that's got to be exhausting :684:

Yes, it was Invalid Link Removed

WEEK 9 – LEG WORKOUT 2

SUPERSET 1
1. Bosu ball DB Deadlifts
2. Good Morning’s

******************

3. Leg Press

* Slight deviation from last week –used the bosu ball instead of the stability disc because: couldn’t find the disc, some evil people must have taken it :dunno:

* It was for the greater "good" tho (...I mean: “pain”), because deads on bosu are MUCH harder than disc deads. This is simply because you are further away from mother Earth on the bosu and so the hardest part is actually picking the DBs from the ground  That is the main reason why I didn’t go past 50lb, but I kept my promise and upped the reps :)

* I also substituted ATG squats for Invalid Link Removed because:

a) I already did squats earlier this week (leg WO 1)
b) This was a morning workout

....and being a morning workout my back was stiffer than normal so the 132lb was quite a pain
....in reality, I just haven’t stretched and warmed up properly :p

* Leg Press was a Invalid Link Removed, I know the workout this week wasn’t strictly comparable to last week's and maybe that is the ONLY reason why I was able to press 44lb more :biglaugh: ...oh, and also, for 2 more reps, in fact...

....Today was all 10s workout :D

After training my female client this morning... I have even more respect for you than I did before.

She wanted a "tough ass / thighs workout"...

Uh yeah, good luck trying to walk all next week. :toofunny:

I think I may do what you did on Week 9 and stick with a lot of sets of squats & deads, now that my lumbar is a bit more conditioned.

That would be a serious achievement in strength DF - or you could do it with chains around your neck like Branch Warren - get photos! What an awesome avi pic for you that would be!

I use those damn DBs - either between ankles or thighs - both uncomfortable and difficult to hold :dunno:

What did you make her do TL ?

Will you do them in a superset Sam ? :D I'm telling this OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN Invalid Link Removed DEADS ARE THE BEST WARMUP FOR SQUATS !!

HA ! That would be hilarious !

I prefer the chain, looks cooler , no but seriously, I can't hold those DBs, I found it very difficult as well so if I try it I have to take my focus of the actual exercise...not worth it in my experience, dips require all the brain power I can spare

OFF to have my 4th workout of the week now, feeling a bit , didn't get much sleep last night so we'll see how it goes. Just had my 4 shot espresso...didn't do much :dunno:

Did a 4 lift circuit 3 times through...

Squats, Walking Lunge, DB Deads, Leg Press

Then some abdominal work... Nothing too crazy, she's just somewhat out of shape.

yeah, there is a belt at work - I'm going to head to the workshop and look for some chains to attach plates too - good for chins too :borladuck:

. . . god I'm sick to death of Michael f...g Jackson already

...as for M f...g J, I'm with you, I couldn't care less.

I will not be doing them in a super-set (yet).

I've found squats to be a great warm up for deads as well :usa1:

^^^^ x2 light, deep high rep squat sets before heavier, lower rep SL deads

AGREE. Works well either way :)

WEEK 9 – BACK, CHEST, SHOULDERS

* Today I’m going to EAT like there’s no tomorrow !!!!
* WHY ?
* BECAUSE I BLOODY DESERVED IT !!!!

Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

* There is only one logical explanation for today’s workout. I was possessed by the Holy Spirit. I’m serious. Few of you may know that I’m a Christian and proud of it :D

* Well, today my thoughts as I walked into the gym went kind of like this Invalid Link Removed

1st HA, this is going to be HILARIOUS, my TRIS are still blasted and in DOMS from 2 days ago, so I’m anticipating a Bench disaster. :ntome: Invalid Link Removed

2nd, I felt as awake as a Koala with a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (for those of you non-Aussies let me just state this, Koalas sleep up to 19hrs a day, when they don’t sleep, they eat ) Usually when I start the day in such state of awakeness-NOT, I assume it is going to be a wasted day :dump:

* I had to laugh at myself because I dismissed all these negative thoughts instantly when the time came to hit the weights Invalid Link Removed I just said to myself, everything that I’m not He Is. So I put my workout in God’s hands cause I sure as hell () cannot rely much on mine :biglaugh:

*Here is what I did:

SUPERSET 1

1. Pull-Ups WG
2. Bench Press

*******************

SUPERSET 2

1. Upright BB Rows
2. Pull-Ups NG

.....and here are the stats:

1. WG PULL-UPS FOR THE FIRST IN MY LIFE – WEIGHED !!!!! :woohoo:
I did 4 sets of just body weight and then I cautiously attached 5lb, did 2 sets; progressed to 8.75lb for another set. All Pull - Ups I do are from dead hang. Invalid Link Removed I know these are not huge numbers, nevertheless it is attached weight, mentally for me that is a GINORMOUS achievementInvalid Link Removed

I did not see myself doing weighed Pull Ups in the not-so-distant future. Yeah I’m able to do 70 + reps in a session, but to do a single weighed Pull-Up for me constituted an unsurpassable obstacle.

2. Bench..... I cannot express this in words but maybe a table will help ;)

In case you haven't noticed, I feel BIG today

* This was surely the best workout I had during this cycle, if not EVER :)

I prefer the chain, looks cooler , no but seriously, I can't hold those DBs, I found it very difficult as well so if I try it I have to take my focus of the actual exercise...not worth it in my experience, dips require all the brain power I can spare

I was going to suggest holding a DB between your feet and then read this. It actually gets easier holding the heavier weight, trust me. When I first started doing weighted dips the 15kg DB was almost too much for my feet to hold. Now I can have a 20kg DB between them fine (your feet get stronger, or at least have an increased ability to hold the DB).

I find the problem being with that you find yourself focusing on holding the bloody thing rather than on your form . . . but I guess you are the Female Terminator Rosie :hammer:

Same here JKP, got to focus on holding the bloody thing, like I've said before. Then again, comes down to practice, like everything else :) I guess I'm just too lazy to practice and so far the chains have worked for me. The only danger I faced once was that I haven't fastened the belt tight enough so when I started dipping it almost pulled my pants off Invalid Link Removed

I don't focus on holding the weight and never have (and if you start lighter and work your way up the DBs then you stop noticing them). If I used a chain to hang a plate around my hips then it would just be uncomfortable for me, as the chain would bite into my hips and cause severe bruising. Everyone's different, Nick.

Another thing I recall from today's workout, my left shoulder (traditionally week), was giving me some mild signs of protest  during my Bench Press, and I caught myself thinking, how is it that I'm still capable of lifting more than last time  ..... I guessed THE FORCE was with me ;), I let myself not be distracted by the pain and sure enough, it soon DISAPPEARED ! :biglaugh:

just messing with ya Rosie - no offense intended :wave2:

. . .speaking of 'accidents in the gym', I was once in a spin class, located in the front row when my cycle shorts split . . the girls behind me nearly fell off their bikes! :toofunny:

Ah that makes sense. I'm lucky tho, cause my gym has a belt to which a chain is attached so your body does not make direct contact with the chain itself. Great stuff

HAHA ! Priceless JKP :)

It probably wouldn't make a difference. My skin is quite soft and sensitive and bruises rather easily (it used to just be my legs from having deep-tissue massage once a week when I was cycling; but now when I get leaner it's EVERYthing; seriously, you just have to flick a finger against my arms, hips, or legs, and it will leave a bruise).

Seriously? ;)

Any updates Dragonfly? Really enjoyed reading through your thread, spent WAY TOO MUCH time doing it at work today (private office, lol!). Your progress makes me want to hit the gym yet again today after a rare morning workout, guess I will just have to do some cardio.

Glad I could inspire oufinny :) ...and....I know all about spending too much time at work doing things one shouldn't do at work  Managed to cast that demon out, it was HAAAARD

WEEK 10

* Well I’m certainly glad I remained conscious to type this update... I almost wished I had access to intravenous glucose today – still recovering from THE MOST DEBILITATING HYPO EVER
Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

* First, I did not expect to get a workout in, had a LOT to do in the lab today. Got there EXTRA early because I wanted to avoid afterhour work at all costs. I had very little to eat during the day but thank goodness, managed to sneak out for a coffee break Invalid Link Removed :D When I finally finished with work, I had this massive adrenaline kick: WOOOO, I actually have the time to hit the gym Invalid Link Removed:fool2: Had another coffee and off I went. Workout was insane but mostly due to overstimulated adrenals. When they got exhausted, I saw all the stars in the sky Invalid Link Removed. That was shortly after I got home. Had a massive carb load but still felt sick and nauseous after it, thought I was going to Invalid Link Removed and pass out Invalid Link Removed, not sure in which order. Now, 6 hrs after, I still don’t feel great but at least I’m not craving glucose filled syringes

* Here is the workout

SUPERSET 1

1. Squats
2. Deadlifts

******************

3. BB Lunges

* I only had 2 warmup sets this time around ‘cause I felt that was all I needed Invalid Link Removed

* I kept my promise from last week, to a certain extent :o ....thou shall increase reps not weight !

* Deads felt ridiculously light and that was only because I mistakenly took a 33lb bar (15kg :p) instead of a 44lb bar (20kg). For the whole time I thought I was lifting 143lb and not 138 Invalid Link Removed

* When I realized what I had done :damnit:, I decided to take my RAGE out on BB Lunges, so I bumped the weight up by 11lb and carried on. Justice was then done :D

* I'm trying to upload my progress table but it is not working :dunno: AM is being temperamental...or perhaps it is not allowing me to show off

...well I'll try again tomorrow :p

Your log rules, DFly. It's like being punched in the face with a boxing glove rubbed in Menthol: pure freshness.

She's the queen of illustrated posts, it keeps the barely literate like myself interested in reading her extensive reports and her perceivable & undeniable progress (evidenced by cool pics) always impresses.

She also exudes enthusiasm in her reports, which contains the Menthol'esque, GSP mid kick, likened to what you expressed.

Uh oh, thanks guys ! I try to keep things fresh around here, I deal with too much rottenness at work, part of being a med scientist

....and Sam, I think you are being waaaay too modest about yourself, a quality which is rarely seen these days :)

You need to stop going hypo so much, girl!

Tell me about it ! I need a different job, that would solve most problems. It is becoming an increasing struggle, the nature of my work simply does not allow for frequent breaks :whiner: That is ok for normal people but not freaks like us who are programmed to eat little but often !

I would just speak in person as you write on here: very loud and expressive. Nobody will **** with DFly if they ask, "How are you today?" and you go, "QUITE FINE MOTHE****ER - DEADS TODAY BITCH! WHOOO!"

Rottenness solved!

Now back to business, so, this is what I did yesterday. I am still annoyed at myself for making a mistake of taking a lighter bar for the deads. By the time I realized I was lifting 5lb less than what I had planned (8th set), it was too late to go back.... :bsflag: ...ok, ok, I admit, I was de-motivated to go back !

That's awesome...

If a girl at work said that to me, I'd probably throw a chest bump and start shouting myself.

WEEK 10 -BIS,TRIS, BACK, SHOULDERS

SUPERSET 1

1. Dips
2. BB Rows (bent over)

SUPERSET 2

1. Chin ups
