I hit my guy up to get my next cycle, I like having stuff on hand long enough before I start. But this time he told me what my next cycle is going to be lol. Test, NPP and winstrol it is lol, because that's what's in stockYeah lots of orals are hard to find too.
having been married the 2 times, I have never bought any of these gadgets or a foam roller or lacrosse ball, yet Ive always been surrounded by them and had them available to use lol. I buy chalk and preWO, she buys foam rollers and yoga pantsI see them for $50 on Amazon currently, and $30 for knockoffs. I don’t know that I would have bought one, but my wife did, so I use that over laying on something like the points of a hex db or a lacrosse ball (whenever I do use it, which is rare).
Enjoy that candy….show the little guy how it’s done.10/31/25

Feeling a bit tight & creaky this morning; lots of sore muscles & glycogen is lower, so just some high-rep Widegrip and heavy arms to get something useful in. Boy I tell you what fellas, my hams were tight getting out of bed this morning! I had considered pulling a hard set of deficit deads after my regular work set, but I knew I’d cashed my paycheck & felt like I’d be beating a dead horse. Glad to get feedback this morning I was right not to add more.

Halloween went great, and getting all the pizza and candy a day early helped me be truly topped off for legs this week. Stronger on everything, and I was excited to find lunges felt definitively better than last time - very little pain. Great early morning training session.
Yeah it was smooth and I stayed in great position; could definitely have jumped up to 529 safely after if I was maxing out.500lbs feeling pretty stable?
PLU nats will be a fun one! Every PLU event thus far has exceeded any expectations I thought I had. Reffing, MC, vibe, everything!Yeah it was smooth and I stayed in great position; could definitely have jumped up to 529 safely after if I was maxing out.
Got an email saying registration for Powerlifting United Nationals in May ‘26 opened this weekend, and my total in August at 242 was high enough to qualify me to go as either an Untested 242 or 275 (it’s even high enough to enter as a 308 or Superheavy, but obviously I’m not ever gaining that kind of weight intentionally). Not sure how I feel about going, but it’s always nice to be qualified.

I’m always Full Power, as long as my body allows - I have competed Bench Only and Deadlift Only once each, and both times felt like I was just waiting around all day wishing I could be doing all 3!PLU nats will be a fun one! Would you do a single event if you do register or just yeehaw it for full power?

Yeah 272lbs on the morning of 405, 270 that week. Took me 5.5 weeks to rebound, coming off a low point of 243 that was 6 weeks after benching 396 in comp weighing in 268.thats awesome due, what was your weight at 405 last time, like 272? and you made that run in about 2 months, I wonder where you could get your bench to by May...
Well you have to remember I have longer arms and leverage matters immensely - if I had particularly short arms, I’d be a 455 bencher and 585 deadlifter, instead of 405/630 bests. The Push/Pull total is a pretty good metric for overall strength because of that inverse relationship.but even injuries aside it does sorta match what you've always told me about weight gain having the greatest carry over to bench of the three lifts. I'm always shocked when I see dudes who say they're repping 315 at like 160lbs bw and their ankles look like they'd snap under a 315 squat. They could be lying but I've just seen so many smaller guys claim to have these big 3 wheel+ benches.
Man, now that’s some pulls….469 x 9 at 238 BW, impressive. That already equates to over 600 or at least in that neighborhood. I think your body’s gonna convince you to do that meet, as strong as you’re already sitting at. You may be setting PRs all around leading up to it.11/5/25

Deadlift is starting to take off! I think I might have cracked my code for what I need to drive progress with it right now: low total volume AND lower %1RM, but taken to a high intensity. Then backfill volume with some additional hinge work.
6 more lbs, 1 more rep, and decidedly easier than last week! Snagged a bottle of Amentoflavone on a clearance sale last week, so I put 40mg in preWO today. This stuff always made me acutely stronger when I used it over a decade ago in Komodo Katana, and it sure didn’t disappoint tonight! Felt stronger on everything, but it’s not only that - it’s like your muscles just contract harder.
Well that Nationals is 6 months away, so I’m not looking that far out right now. Just focusing on training week to week at the moment, hopefully adding some strength and size slowly & sustainably. I want to keep my HDL up for a while & make the food and training drive the progress with minimal PED use. Then when the base is big enough, step on the gas to reach new heights. But I need a bigger foundation of strength first.Man, now that’s some pulls….469 x 9 at 238 BW, impressive. That already equates to over 600 or at least in that neighborhood. I definitely don’t let it swing out all the way; I moreso use it for comfort & because it forces me to ensure my lats stay locked into my brace hard. If you don’t, it will come forward and penalize you big time. If I stay locked in, it feels a lot like an RDL as far as leverage and how the hamstring tensions.Man that’s also some hefty GMs. Especially on the giant swingy bar!
Impressive strong woman….looks like she is peaking at just the right time. Starting to look like she might crush her PR.Wife pulled 355 today; heaviest deadlift she’s done since the Arnold in 2020, nearly a year before my son was born. 15 days out from World’s!

She weighed 155.8lbs upon waking today. I was yelling at her she’s gotta up the calories. When she competes as an open pro like the last 2 comps she did (America’s Strongest Woman and Masters Nationals) she has to weigh under 140.8, but as a Master at world’s it’s just over/under 160. So she’s too light right now.she is also not a large woman, I don't know what she's weighing now but I feel like you said she weighed in around 165 or something previously. I've seen very few, maybe zero, women pull that much IRL regardless of weight. I think TOP female crossfit games competitors are around that, with avgs being 330 to a very very best of 425. Long story short > your wife is like... seemingly elite strong for female standards?
I remember when you posted that picture of her circus DB lift, that was crazy. Ha, I actually showed that to guys here at work, and buddies at the gym.She weighed 155.8lbs upon waking today. Yes, she is objectively elite as a strength athlete. Her static strength is also her greatest weakness really in strongman, especially the deadlift - we just try not to zero the deadlift events. But the things she can do with carries, loading, pressing odd objects, drags are legitimately international elite for her weightclass. She can do weighted chin-ups, climb ropes, and pull trucks, and she’s held an ATWR previously in the circus DB.
crazy impressive. I also forgot she's 10 years older than you too, right? she's raising the bar for your own expectations in a decade lolShe weighed 155.8lbs upon waking today. I have seen Nick Best do amazing things at fifty, so I think it comes down to genetics and grit![]()
You know, I don’t really believe that at all anymore. I mean of course you’re going to need HRT+ kind of protocols in the picture to keep recovering enough to maintain any kind of progress in later training years, but…everyone does this, yet they don’t set the records he has or still lifting at the level he does. And pharmaceutical enhancement lol
Yeah especially if I want to truly grow, having insulin up over the day just makes sense. Some great training, congrats you your lovely wife on her lift. Solid decision bringing carbs back in if hurting your training.

There was a good Table Talk with Paul Leonard on where he recounts competing at Junior Nationals against Steve Dennison (now president of the USPA) & Nick Best decades ago. And Paul discussed in depth all his doses later on when he was in law enforcement, how he got around the red tape. And they were like 1,700mg/wk peak doses, enough to be enough for many. But neither he nor Steve are still competing - and they were all putting up very serious numbers even as Juniors.
Yeah especially if I want to truly grow, having insulin up over the day just makes sense.
But I will say, I finished last meet prep at 245 with some obvious low back fat, and getting down to 238-240 this last 8-9 weeks on the Anabolic Diet they’ve shrunk very significantly. So it seems like the improvement in insulin sensitivity over time really helped strip the fat from the right places. Moreso than the low amount of weightloss would suggest. I can also see my quads and hams better.
I’m glad everything is holding up physically and you’re making great progress!11/9/25

Another great leg day, this one better than last week’s even. Added load to everything and overall felt stronger.
I am so sorry for the loss of your Father. Glad you and your little boy had a good visit before he passed, and that you and your siblings were able to be with him. Will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers.Took my son to go visit my Dad on Saturday, who’s been in the hospital this last week again recovering from Sepsis (which he developed since he’s been laid up from the blood clot in his leg he was hospitalized with 6 weeks ago). He looked way better, they had him back on regular food, they had stepped him down to the regular hospital floor care, & he was very much with it mentally - it was a really nice visit that we both enjoyed a lot. All signs indicated he was recovering & possibly leaving soon.
Then yesterday getting home from the park with my boy, my sister called saying he had just flatlined from a heart attack. They did CPR to revive him, breaking some ribs, but his BP and O2 were very low. It was his wish not to be put on a ventilator/life support, so I drove back down to meet all my siblings at the ICU to say our goodbyes. He held on long enough to see us all there (I live a couple hours away), before the morphine for his ribs relaxed him into a harsh sleep. He passed 3-4 hours later, with me and my littlest sister present until the end.
He was 3 days away from 76 years old. He had not lived a healthy life by any measure. He had went into congestive heart failure almost 5 years ago from COVID, as well as living with 2 large aortic aneurysms for years that could have burst any time, so it really is remarkable he lived such a long full life. I’m so glad for all he taught me & all the times we shared together, and thankful I have no regrets in our relationship. His #1 priority was his kids, and he died peacefully surrounded by them after sharing that love one last time.
I’m so sorry for your loss. The time you got to spend with him being in good spirits and being able to share a conversation, with your son there, will be one of your most cherished memories. I'm sorry dude, I truly am. Id give you a hug if I could. My parents, aunts, uncles and many close family friends are all in there 70's now and I dread the idea of all the phone calls il be receiving over the next several years. Unfortunately my father is probably the least healthy in that group, several health issues and instead of trying to fix it, he chooses to drink, smoke and skip out on his appointments and therapy. I'm constantly struggling to not be angry at him because I know his time is short. I'm glad you got to say goodbye with no regrets, I hope I will be able to do the same. Knowing some of your life story, and some about where you are now as a man and with your family, I'd bet your dad was very proud of you. Make sure your little man knows how much you love him and don't let him forget Grandpa either.
