Jimothy's Back (and worse than ever)

Confucius say quality far superior to quantity and older man gets lower quality options than younger man.

But, in seriousness, it’s also expensive to do cardio. Don’t think you guys really understand how many cigarettes I have to smoke to counteract these health benefits. And those aren’t cheap up here!
Using that nicotine preworkout eh?

Plus 25 minutes of cardio.

Had a couple of rough days at work, so missed Tuesday’s session. C’est la vie.

That's the lifestyle program, you get it in when you can fit it in! For your workload you are doing a great job! A lot of new attorneys come in from school in shape, and that first year or two they just start gaining weight because they don't make it a priority, you are doing the damn thing! Keep it up!

Nice to see the scale moving up I am sure.

Plus 30 minutes of cardio.

Hamstring a little tender after the cardio. Not crazy or anything, but might’ve pushed a bit too hard on Tuesday. Will see how it feels on legs tomorrow (or Saturday, depending on work since gym closes early on Fridays).

Gym doesn’t have an adductor machine. No cardio today. Left hamstring is for sure not fully recovered yet. Materially weaker than the right and still a little tight.

Should avoid pushing hamstring exercises for a few more weeks, I guess.

Sometimes the fastest way forward, is to not actively move forward on something

Plus 30 minutes of cardio. Bit of a lower incline today because of some hammy tightness, but otherwise good session.

Didn’t get a session in last night. Was running on little sleep and not enough food, so thought it best to go to bed while I could.

Will be training legs later today (God willing).

Weight down a smidge for this weeks check-in, but think that’s an aberration since calories are so much higher. Down to 189.9 in these this morning.

Something like 20 pounds up from the low of the cut, and feel like I’m not getting too fat or anything, so guess things are going alright.

Seems like the cycle is going well! How are you feeling on it?

Yeah, seems like it’s going fine. No real side effects to speak of, which makes sense with such conservative dosing. Have been getting more easily irritated recently, but that’s only been noticeable for the last week or two, so I think it’s more a result of work stress than anything else.

Oh, also been noticing a bit more acne, but nothing too serious there either. Not much on the face, largely body acne, but nothing extreme.

Late night at work and no cardio because gym closed before I could get it. Need to do a little more work tonight before bed. Bleh.

Estrogen might be climbing a little. Some solid progress so far. Definitely remaining pretty lean too. Well done so far!

Add in 200mg DIM and 400iu Vit E daily. The former will help metabolize out estrogen and the latter just helps with the acne & is an antioxidant, which intake needs to increase when on cycle.

Thanks, Hyde.

Just ordered both. No gym tonight. Didn’t leave the office until 10:40 and am still working from home now. Living the dream.

Got about 3 hours of sleep last night, but the two deals closed so things should be returning to normal. Gym closed before I could get to it today, so will have to try to train Saturday and Sunday to get it all in for this week.

Do it! Sat & Sun combo days are the best, knowing most of your body will be growing all week.

Yeah, my coach wrote my split so I have a day off on the weekend but I prefer to train both days on the weekend. It is the one time I can go at my pace and just enjoy the session the way I want to enjoy it. If I want to be a little more social and take a little longer, or less social and just go from set to set quickly in a Git R Done method.

I LOVE getting the weekend sessions in. They do wreck me a bit when I have decks and fences to build back home, but it feels so good having those big days done on Sat/Sun then not stressing over Mon/Fri when life/work happens and I "have" to miss a day. This week I just have to hammer out one more heavy session (today) then Tuesday becomes an 'easy' day.

Coach said nix the cardio to see if we can get this nagging hamstring injury to heal or to move to a bike and no bike available today, so nixed it.

Hopefully that does the trick.

No adductor machine (might need to do this session at my other gym going forward) and hammie immediately started tightening up during the first set of ham curls, even with such light weight.

Bleh. Getting on the bike now and doing some cardio.

Did 20 minutes of cardio and then bounced to walk to the subway in the middle of a monsoon.

NYC blows.
Haha you picked that place! Come back to Texas! :)

No luck with progressive overload today. Running on just a couple of hours of sleep and really dragging ass. No cardio.

Passed out on my couch after work last night and slept straight through the gym being open. Probably needed the sleep, but means I’m doing legs today. Will see how the hamstring is holding up, I guess.

I am sure the rest benefitted you more than the session would have at this point. Good luck with the hammy today!

Loved the Ray logic!!!
I said this to a coworker the other day as what fixed the issue defied logic and the physics of radio frequency. I followed it up with “gonna go home and have some hot Hamburg sandwiches”.
he had never seen Trailer Park Boys so had ZERO idea what I was talking about.

Hammie started tightening up on me after the first work set of the leg curls. Decided discretion was the better part of valor today and scratched the rest of the hamstring work.

Have to wake up in 4ish hours to close a deal in Europe, so going to try to catch a few hours of sleep. Might do my upper session in the morning instead of waiting until after work. Will see how I feel in the AM.

I think it is time to give that hamstring a week or two off. No direct work just let it be support in other leg movements. Of course run that by Pat but he normally tells me to use my best judgement, and adjust as needed. As we know he is a coach, not a physical therapist. See if you can find a bike or something instead of a treadmill if that is what you have been using walking on an incline is going to beat it up a little too, so might as well look into a bike or elliptical to get a little less hammy stimulation.

Yeah, think that’s the plan. Problematically, the damn thing feels fine all through the day and on warm-up sets, but then starts tightening up out of nowhere.

Probably a couple weeks of full rest is the right move, but I hate it.

Did not end up falling asleep until after close, so dragging some serious ass today.
The fun of being a baby attorney, all the late night, early morning action the partners don't want to deal with. Hopefully you get some rest soon!

Partner isn’t even involved in this one, really. Just me and a senior associate, and in his defense, he was up too.

Yeah, but at least that hammy is getting rested regardless of why.

Didn’t really have it today. Was able to increase load on the first two exercises, but no dice on the latter two.

At least you got in and got something done.

I'm a huge believer in this, and I have felt even more validated in this by watching you over the last couple years with split training days, accumulating cardio on your parking garage lunch walks, etc. the proof is in the pudding!

Kept hamstring work pretty low intensity, but a good sign that I was able to do it today.

Good to hear! Progress it gently; a month late is better than one day too early. I have to keep reminding myself of this for my back.

Love hearing you were able to train hammies. Good stuff keep resting it a little more, don't go full bore next session all excited to train.

Yeah, agree with both you and Hyde. Not going to go crazy, but no pain or anything today either, so think I am close (or, at minimum, didn’t **** it up more yesterday).
