Egg protein. And isolate would be cool. But def an Egg not many if really any body makes egg and it would be good for people that can’t handle dairy well but don’t want vegan.

I will admit that I do like Egg Protein. Haven't had any just egg protein in quite some time. I've had a mix of various proteins with egg included, but I do like just egg. Financially for the company, I have no way of knowing whether egg is more or less expensive to make. Probably more, but I have no idea. How many people buy egg protein? Probably not many in the big scheme of things. That not many companies make egg is also maybe a sign that nobody wants it? I don't know. I want some now just talking about it though, haha.

Whey starts entering the system very quickly but still has about a 4 hour digestion time. So it is good for any time of day like Steve said. Most people (Lifters) eat at least every 4 hours which actually ends up working well for MPS as it will renew the bolus of aminos available to stimulate protein synthesis on the natural 4 hour circadian rhythm that MPS follows.

Well i think many don’t know where to get it, or trust who to buy from with egg protein cause there ain’t anyone selling it. I am sure that now foods makes an egg protein powder in vanilla flavor. It’s pretty damn good. I’d think if more reputable places made egg protein powder it would sell well. My personal favorite brand for protein powder is Trutein ( whey egg casein powder all in one )

from a business stand point you could be very eighth. But I never remeber any big names or anyone even really attempting to make it to be honest. I dnt think it’s ever been given a fair show. Egg protein powder is still protein. I matter what. It may not digest as fast as whey or as slow as casein but I’m sure it digests somewhere in between

Egg Protein has never traditionally sold well for brands. I always appreciate any suggestions though.

It never sold well even for the big brands known for protein like Optimum Nutrition.

I think from a general customer standpoint, people either think whey or vegan, and egg just gets overlooked in the middle.

Makes sense. Kind of sucks cause I’d buy it lol but I dnt expect a company to produce for just me lol.

Protein bump @sns8778 any kind of future eta in mind?

This kind of got sidetracked with protein prices going through the roof. We do still want to do one. The thought at the time was that we would do it when prices came back down - the honest thought now is that prices are likely never going to come back down.

I would hope that if all goes well, that we would release some protein next year.

A big issue is that people always expect us to be cheaper on everything than everyone - and no one can really beat Optimum and Dymatize on price bc they're owned by companies with ties to the dairy industry.

If it's around 30 or 40 cents more per serving I'd probably still buy for brand loyalty but anything more than that would be hard to justify

I appreciate that.

We would be as cost effective as we could possibly be. With a protein, the goal is really to provide a great quality and great tasting product to people that like the brands &/or to draw attention to the brand. The goal for small to mid-size brands isn't usually to make a lot of profit off of protein - if we do one, I'd price it the best I possibly could and just have to be careful not to lose money on it bc of shipping prices now days.

The flavor samples we have on it are great and I think would be worth it for people that are taste conscious. I never thought I'd find a Chocolate and Vanilla I was wowed by, but I was on these.

Totally get that last point. With protein market imagine it's also hard to differentiate. Either it's cheapest per lb/per serving cost, or you have to have good enough or unique enough flavors to justify a premium price.

Yeah. The unique flavors is interesting too bc brands do unique flavors to stand out, but most protein sales are basic chocolate and vanilla. So its like you have to have the crazy flavors to draw attention, but its the basic ones that sell the best.

Don’t have time to read 7 pages, but I’d like to see a vegan blend (without soy) that has more interesting flavors than simply chocolate or vanilla…with a decent price range.

how about a 20% casein 20% hydrolyzed whey and a 60% whey isolate
protein supplement? I would definitely be interested.

I thought about something similar to this at some point.

The protein product is on hold at the moment bc protein prices went insane, but is still something we definitely want to do.

Just a personal opinion, but I find the hydrolyzed whey to be a bit gimmicky, and it negatively effects the taste of the product in my opinion. The reality is if eating 3-4 times a day, and some of it being casein / dairy there is almost always going to be aminos being released into the system during the waking hours. That takes the need for something like that out of the equation. I have no doubts it gets to the muscle faster in a fasted setting, but if you have already eaten within 4-7 hours you are very likely to still be releasing aminos. which makes it not necessary.

What drives the prices up like that? I would think that it would only go up if the price of cheese and milk went up. I've seen some of the lactose free milk go up, but overall I don't see the prices of other things going up enough to justify the price of whey protein going up like that. Or .........

am I way out in left field somewhere lol. With the very limited knowledge I have on making whey protein (5min Google search), that's the only thing I could think of

Probably demand. Companies are hyping the heck out of protein and putting whey or rice protein in everything. oatmeal, ice cream, cereal, even starbucks has a high protein version latte.

@ironviking is pretty accurate above. The demand is so high that suppliers have had a hard time keeping up with it.

That's why you continue to see prices going up and sizes going down.

Ya, I didn't use too much common sense on that one. The demand is definitely super high

No worries, I totally understood where you were coming from with the way you were thinking.
