The dissapearing man

I am, definitely am. But IL be honest, I'm not feeling so great eating all this stuff. I'm truly enjoying it while eating but so far, just about every meal today and yesterday I kinda feel shitty and nauseous shortly after. I'm actually looking forward to this in house buffet tonight. There's supposed to be a salad bar, rotisserie meats, steamed and sauted vegetables and then a million sides like mash potatoes and Mac n cheese ect. I think I'm going light for soup, Salad and maybe some chicken or whatever is the rotisserie meat
It's funny yiu say that by the 3rd day I was in Vegas I just wanted chicken and rice with a little olive oil. I was already sick of the few " off plan" meals I ate

The last sentence, I honestly believe high carb diet will outperform any over the counter supplements and I think a intelligent natural powerlifter or strength athlete on the right diet will outperform Bob on steroids who eats normal and works out.

With that being said, give person A.the supplements on top and he will improve more and give him the juice and watch out!
So true I've had carbs back in for a week now and yesterday during legs I had veins going over my knee caps and down my calves!! I'm already loving the bro split, i think my body needed the change. I'm getting stupid skin splitting pumps and I'm sore af already today. It's nice being there for only 60-75 minutes and not 2.5 hours

Ya, I had a salad, steamed carrots and greenbeans and a piece of roast pork. A diet coke and I went back to my room after and threw a bag of plain popcorn in the microwave. My gut had enough

IL tell you what tho, all that salty food and the couple anadrols made the veins pop out of my veins lol. I gotta be the most vascular person over 10% bf. When this fight is over I might have to keep cutting just to see how gnarly these veins get

Damn dude you're catching up to me

Just standing around all veiny for no reason! Love it!

I'm gonna be doing a lot of conditioning work when I get back and I'm not gonna have a ton of room for weights in my recover tank. I'd have to imagine IL still get more shredded but keep shrinking. I also wish I could just use anadrol for the next 6 weeks lol. But it was just a couple days for fun to fake the funk. I really just need to get through these next 6 weeks of cutting again so I can see if it's sustainable for me to stay at that weight range for a extended period of time. I actually feel and look great in the 191-200lb range. That's like my comfort zone and it takes me little to no effort to maintain a good lean athletic looking build around there. But getting down around 180 didn't feel great, but I kinda rushed it. Now that I fed myself back up to my "comfort zone " and I'm only like 12lbs over it should beva cake walk

Depends, are you leaner at the same weight? If not then I think you know the answer. Well except when strength training is concerned many people try to limit growth while getting stronger for weight class reasons.

Biggest and weirdest change I have seen over the years is that my legs are typically a bit smaller now despite be much stronger in the squat and deadlift. Xfit was fantastic for leg hypertrophy, but we never really did anything over 185-225lbs for reps. I guess I'm living proof that size and strength are not a 1:1 ratio.

as far as leanness and weight, we'll find out this time... smont is right, you always need to take off 5-10lbs more than you think once you get there. But at 195 today I'm looking forward to seeing what 183-185 looks like compared to a year ago.

It's definitely a athletics thing. My legs at there biggest were respectable. Never amazing but they were very proportional and looked massive next to any one at the beach or on the wrestling mats. But they weren't super strong in comparisonto how they looked. I was rarely squatting over 225, when I would do 3 plates it was usually 6-8 reps tops, max was probablyl ow 400's for 1 or 2. Now there half size and I can do the same weights or more for more reps. It's odd.

Oddly enough my legs were biggest when I squatted 3x week with only a few accessories like leg press or deadlifts. I'd do a few exercises for push day and then squat, leg press leg ext.

Then next workout I'd do a few exercises for pull day and then squat, deadlift and do some hamstring curls or lunges. That's pretty much it.

Man I get that. We were squatting damn near every day, but also pulling nearly every day. Either deads, cleans, snatch, kettlebells, or pull-ups, rope climbs, muscle ups, etc. So my quads and back grew like crazy. I guess that's sorta more proof of volume = results though....

I can definitely see how that would make them grow!

@Dustin07 - It all comes down to the extra volume, remember they have found that any weight you get close to failure on in the 5-30 rep range is going to drive hypertrophy. I would be willing to bet a lot of the sets ended up in that rep range. So you were getting a lot more training volume on your legs then.

Yup a typical day would have been 10 x 10s, or 21/15/9s, etc and you were pretty much always going to failure....
I just went back to page one of my log and almost every single workout on that page alone had some variation of squats, lunges, or kb swings 😅

I plan on doing 10x10's for my leg condition/endurance another thing I like doing as a finisher is db deadlifts, 1 db betweenyour legs and alternate hands on each rep. 1 set of 50,

I've been setting up a wod timer on my phone with an EMOTM structure for 10x10s and I set a custom one, Every 2minutes On the minute for supersets (like 10 x 10 ez bar curls super set with 10 x 10 t bar rows) etc...

Now you are getting into some more serious conditioning talk! Serious work being discussed here.

Late to the party but I’m loving Super Swole myself, just wish I had a powdered pump pre to make it a bit more interesting.
I’ve always been too fat but I saw a hint of some quad veins the other day and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Wish I would’ve done a proper cut long ago, being truly lean is something I was never interested in but I feel like if you can get the size and ab development, 15% body fat still looks pretty lean comparatively so staying between 10-15 year round is going to look far above average I’d think.

I will say I’m the absolute worst at guessing BF percentage though lol

Everyone is terrible at guessing bf% , there's so much room for error judging someone's pictures or judging yourself in a mirror. I like to refer to the charts when someone asks about bf. I just gustimate myself as 15% when my abs are visible flexed, 10% when there's a full 6pac relaxed and after that your shredded lol.

I do like the idea of someone using calipers. While the actual % may not be accurate, the changes will be very accurate. So if you do a 7 point caliper test, you do it 3 times and get a average number of say 18% and 3 months later it reads 12%, you may not have been 18 or 12%, but you do know that you have lost 6% bf so far

What's your guys take based on my pictures I'm about to post, here's a few I've taken from my 6 flags trip till now because I've kinda been in maintenance during this time and not much change. My guess would be 9-10 if my waist was a little tighter and my legs more separated, because everything else is lean and vascular, but my lower abs and quads tell me I'm above 10 and probably more like 12-13% but I honestly got no clue, I just know it's over 10

I'm guessing it's pretty close to 10 there's no way it's above 12

Where are the pictures?

Very tasty and not a grease bomb like the last few places. Last night here I'm headed back tomorrow. I honestly can't wait to get back to some real workouts and some low calorie nutrient dense foods lol

Very fair statement! Once the abs are visible relaxed you’re in territory I’ll never get to experience I don’t think lol

may not be 100% accurate, but consistency is what you need and I think that translates to every aspect of the sport. (Minus maybe strength training, exact numbers are important there I’d imagine)

If you wanna be the guy with a 6pack all year or your trying to achieve it for the first time I'd suggest that once you get to the full six pack relaxed you keep cutting another 10lbs or so. This will give a lot of wiggle room to carb up and fill out and be comfortable vs. Just getting to the finish line and trying to stay there titering on the line.

Last picture was after I carbed up and went back up to 192-193 I believe

About 8 weeks from start to finish

Looking good, my best guess would be somewhere around 12%, not shredded but definitely nice and lean. Definitely a body 99% of the men in the world would be ecstatic to have!

By the way, I am with @Mikereyn513 on that food. I saw it and my mouth just started watering. I can't wait for my taste to come back. Fajitas are one of my favorite foods, and those look amazing!

It was good, I took a decent chunk Togo, had one of those delta 8's and then about 2 hrs later ate all the leftovers and had a cookie from gideons bakehouse? Forgot the name. 6 cookies was $36 but there like 1/2lb cookies. I ate 3/4 of one and I called it quits, was delicious but I could tell I was gonna feel gross if I kept going. I will be doing a lot of fajita style dinners moving forward, burrito bowls and stuff like that but with less rice and more meat/vegetables

I would agree, my lower legs and arms tell my I'm 9-10, my stomach looks like 12 and my inner thighs and lower back tells me a little higher like 14-15.

If I has to average everything out and make a guess I'd say 12ish. Now if I took a picture first thing upon waking I'd guess 10 all day, but after a meal and a few glasses of water that Crispy look is gone. So that tells me I got a lot of wiggle room to manipulate water too.

I also still have 6 more weeks, should be a nice steady ride to the finish.

But I'm not done there either

IL probably cut back 6-7lbs and wait till the last week to sweat out a few for weigh in. I will also be the last fight that night i was told so I get all day to rehydrate and get a light meal or 2 in.

Those are often kind of a base for me, that and things like extremely meaty chili, with beans, sometimes with, sometimes without rice. Just depends on macros I want. Wow, a half pound cookie eh. Yeah, I LOVE good cookies, like an addict loves his coke. I find it hard to stop but know there is a very fine line where it will make me feel bad, and that will last a day or two.

Same, especially if I drink regular milk with it.... watch out lol

I had a feeling when you mentioned you were thinking of what to do next after the fight that you might end up focusing in on getting very lean, and athletic after the fight.

Very cool you will be the last fight of the night too. Gives you more time for rehydration and everything like you mentioned. All good news.

After the fight if I can fight again in November im staying the course of feed up to 190 and cut back to 178. Once I can get enough free time with no plans in sight I wanna do a very mild cycle like 300-400 test, 200-250npp maybe and try to put some muscle back on very slowly. I can fit a size 32 waist right now, 34 needs a belt. With 12lbs to go I might be a 30in waist when I'm done and I'd like to focus on keeping the waist tight on the way back up.

Sounds like a great plan. Sounds like we are almost dead even on pants size as of right now. The last 10 days with no taste really dropped some visceral fat off of me. My 33s are sagging without a belt, and I wore some 32 shorts comfortably the other day. When i did my show way back in 09 my pants size got down to 29, it was so tiny... Even though I have no waist I have narrow hips so I can still get pretty small looking waist.

Last time my waist got to 30 I was wasted away lol. I'm kinds excited this time. I do feel even tho I've got significantly smaller, being on vacation and going to the pool showed me I'm still significantly more muscular then I thought I was. A little cycle and a bro diet would be awesome right now. But I'm sticking to the plan :(

This is so true...it's how all the pros keep a 6 pack year round because they're so depleted on show day. Mine still shows really well after adding all the food back in

If you do a show I really hope you log the prep. Even if it's only 1x week updates
If you are talking to me, yeah once the actual prep starts I will be updating with progress pics and stuff regularly. I don't know if I will start a new log for that though. It might be kind of cool to have a separate one just chronicling the journey though.

Ya I was talking to you, IL 100% follow a prep log. I don't usually get very active in other people's logs but I definitely would in a prep log. I would actually like to start following Hydes PL log a bit better too. I usually pop in to your guys logs several times a week, but I rarely say anything lol. I feel like I talk enough on AM, when someone else has a log I try to just watch from the sidelines. Every time I get too involved I start mixing up where I'm at and start logging my stuff in the wrong places 😆

Cool, once I actually start the prep for the show I will make another log just to chronicle it. I probably won't have the cash for a coach for the first couple of months this coming year, but am going to try to put some back to have one for the entire prep which if just starting with the coach might be a 20 week prep just so they can really learn my body before making tons of adjustments.

Looking good! I'm no help on bodyfat, I would have guessed 9-10%, looking very good though and looks like an ideal cut to me. Definitely helping motivate me to keep trucking in a deficit.. I envy your self control on stopping eating a cookie. For me, one bite of something sweet and its game over - I will eat everything in sight that has sugar after that one bite lol

Self control takes practice, I am the same way but the longer I practice self control the better I get at it. Of course it doesn't take long to lose it either if you stop practicing it.
