this is going to sound dumb but building on your idea for an affiliate........... partnering with a good influencer could be optimal because I personally do follow a number of pages for fun (both gymfailnation type for humor, but also some great lifters as well for motivation/inspiration). Someone like that who is naturally posting daily for their base but also promoting the product could be a good move.

The issue with that is that most of those people expect to get paid a fee per post for doing it. It used to be that they would do it for affiliate amounts, in essence earning based on what they can produce. That isn't the case anymore - a lot of them want a lot to just post about products.

I wish that were the case. I rarely ever see anyone post orders, thoughts, or reviews on our stuff on social media. It would help a lot, but just doesn't seem to happen.

I need to do a better job being active on social media myself, but the lack of interaction is discouraging.

I like this. Would be great to be able to represent SNS at the gym. Tired of seeing all these other shirts from subpar companies. SNS deserves the visibility. Make them in a decent cut and fit and I'll buy several...

Idea place an order with SNS, or one of it's affiliates, after receiving your order you post it and a short review on Social Media get X amount of hits and receive a free tank or T
 
@sns8778 I just posted on Facebook and Instagram for yo, being the Tech Savvy person I am it only took me about a half an hour.

How about it folks, take a few minutes post your last order on FaceBook Instagram or stop by one of there pages like a few post and leave a comment or two. Let's help a guy out that will take the time out of his day to help you!!

Same. This is my only online presence whatsoever. Makes me pretty useless in promoting.

I love that idea, I'm just not sure how to implement and track that. But I'm sure its something we could figure out.

I like the lightweight Next Level shirts myself.

I appreciate any help at all - whether its positive posts on here, or telling others about the products in day to day life.

An idea for people that don't have social media - maybe we should have something where people could send in testimonials to us and we can post them ourselves? (with no personal information, just like, hey here's some feedback we received from someone that doesn't have social media).

Like discussed before, forums have started going the way of the Dodo unfortunately. Many of us that are here are 30+ and therefore remember the good old days. Younger people dont have the attention span of forums.

There are a few other things one can do to build a community and get more interactions. But unfortunately they all require work.
  • Facebook groups work. But again its mostly the "older" crowd, as younger have moved on to other platforms.
  • Discord seems to be the new hotness. This requires a couple of moderator and a constant information flow as it can move really fast.
  • Reddit, yeah i know. But you get a lot of activity if run right.
  • A newsletter one can sign up for. This does require you to push people on to you site though.
  • Instagram and TikTok are where you get new customers. Its just how it is now.
I wish the quality of your products could speak for themselves and they do when people find out about them. But its that first step that requires the most work and unfortunately that also the one that costs the most.

Yeah, I like the forums for the way it easy to communicate. I like being able to interact with people and help people, and I think its just that I'm used to the style and format of them.

I do need to go ahead and start a Facebook group, and I'm going to do that asap.

Dicord - I'm not even sure how that works. I tried looking it up and got even more confused. Is it basically just kind of like an ongoing chat?

Reddit - are you saying just promote on Reddit or making some type of sub-forum there for the companies?

I know I suck at marketing in general, and definitely need a newsletter. We're doing some website updates and that should be able to launch as part of those being done.

I only do Facebook and Instagram, I know nothing about Twitter, Reddit or TikTok! Do we have any TikTok'er inhere ??

Discord can be looked at as a chat server (anybody remember IRC back in the days). Where anybody can start its own Discord Server to talk about whatever they want. So for instance you could make one for each company. Or if you could somehow find out a way to make a common server for all of them, then make a chat room for each brand.

It does require some active moderators and such. But from what i see these are the ones that moves the fastest. Which gives me major FOMO as I dont have the time to read discords 24 hours a day.

Reddit is the closest we have to good old forums these days. You make a sub-reddit for each brand and post relevant info in each. Everyone can read and comment. Yeah there are toxic sub reddits, but also very professional run ones.

TikTok is basically an app with only short videos like Instagram Reels or Youtube Shorts. So that one requires video production which is probably the one that takes the most work for any company to run smoothly.
 
Alternatively, maybe just start partnering with local gyms? A lot have small supp shops/smoothie bars where they sell a couple things. All word of mouth of course, but might get your foot in the door. Usually a trainer that also runs them, then they recommend to clients, etc.

We love working with gyms, especially locally owned ones. I like supporting small locally owned businesses.

A lot of them unfortunately only want to resell products by the brands with the big marketing budgets, or by brands that have super huge markups and MAP pricing on their products - which I can understand their reasons, they want to maximize profit, but we don't do large markups or enforce MAP pricing like that bc ultimately its the consumer that suffers by having to overpay.

I would love to start a Discord. Do you see any drawbacks to just making the Discord server to be discussion of all the brands at one time or do you think it would be better to give each their own individual ones? I would just definitely need help from people to moderate it, because I'm working 70+ hours a week as is.

TikTok - I just think I would suck at doing videos because I'm very shy in front of a camera. That's why I would much rather write articles than I would do videos. But I definitely need to do something bc I agree, TikTok is so popular now.

Another thing I've been wanting to do, and I know this is not the newest trendy thing, but I've been starting to write more articles again and wanting to do a small article or blog type site - somewhere I can present factual information about products and ingredients in ways that it makes it easy for the average person to understand. Similar to the way I post about ingredients when I take the time to really write things out in detail.

Thanks. I definitely need to be more active on Facebook and I'm going to try to go ahead and get a Facebook group started over the weekend. As for the articles, I've hinted at that for awhile now is I'm going to go back to writing more - I just want to get enough content done in advance that I can keep fresh articles coming periodically and not have to stress about them.
 
I don’t have any social media other than LinkedIn. Think my wife doe’s Facebook maybe Instagram? Not sure but will be willing to help out, @Rocket3015 ill get her to post or share on the links you have attached.
 
There’s a so called Reddit boycott going on this week. A lot of mods have turned their communities private in protest. I kept getting the errors and thought I just needed to update the app. FYI lots of turmoil this week.

Oh yeah I’ve heard about that but I don’t have a clue what’s actually going on. I’m not on much.

But yeah, I’d wait a few weeks to try Reddit and see how it goes down.

For Discord id recommend using one server but having a chat room for each brand pluss rooms for things like reviews, off topic etc.

The good thing about articles is that when you have the other social media pages up and post a long blog. You can link it on all the platforms and get even more engagement.

I hadn't heard about that. I tried searching on Google to see what was going on - I have kind of an understanding of it, but still don't fully understand it.

One thing I read that I do agree with from Reddit's side is them saying that some of the mods in some subreddits are too powerful - I've seen that in some of the very few ones that I've gone to, mostly Jeep related, where certain mods would be affiliated with brands and would freely and openly bash competitor brands and delete any posts they didn't like and ban people that kept posting positive feedback on other brands.

I don't know the setup of Discord or how its set up. If you can have different rooms for different brands, that seems cool. If you don't mind, could you send me some information on how you would suggest I set that up? I'm glad to try to.

And alright, I could try to do that as far as a sub-reddit for each.
 
I’m also terrible at social media. With that said I went ahead and followed on FB and Instagram and liked a bunch of posts! If you jump on Reddit I’ll definitely follow that as well and help out there as I’m on Reddit daily.
