Would anyone like to see SNS or CEL make a carb powder? (Discussion thread)

I just wanna mention the one carb powder nobody has mentioned in here yet, Cream Of Rice. I use it alot and find its the easiest possible carb on my digestion. BUT I think the market is saturated, so probably not something worth putting money in.
@TheMrMuscle I have tried this and didn't have much luck except for if cooking it first. How do you get it not to have that thick powdery texture? Mine just sat at the bottom of my shake.

I guess PM me the answer if you want so we don't derail the thread.

Yeah I prefer cooking it as well. But a shaker with a blender ball and vigorous shaking will blend it.

I do love to have 2 servings an hour before training.

That is what I was thinking too - that it would be more of a meal based carb rather than a performance one.

I know I want to do the Cytomax type under SNS.

I may do an HBCD/Carb10 combo under SNS or I may do the combo under CEL and a straight HBCD under SNS. It’s probably smarter business not to have 2 different ones lol, but I think marketing wise and for many ppl the combo will be better but dang it, I want an HBCD I trust and like the flavors of lol. Hence me thinking of doing both.

If do the purple sweet potato one, I could make an argument to put that under CEL or possibly Muscle Addiction bc I’d love to get more eyes on Muscle Addiction.
I will probably buy all of them at some point under whatever brands you market them

I know you’ve discussed not wanting to do a protein powder for a variety of reasons, but I really like the idea of a carb replacement powder for non-intra usage. To echo what some have said, could make a great preworkout “meal” with whey for those in a hurry.

I know it’s common to hear on forums to just eat your carbs, or blend your own oats, but sometimes that can be inconvenient so it’s nice having options
I agree. I think that sometimes people fail to consider that 99% of the general population would benefit from a quick and easy replacement because if not, they may wind up missing a meal or eating bad.

Thank you. I think all of them definitely have their individual premises.

I'm leaning towards looking into doing all of the ideas.

I doubt you would do it as people like things separate but would love to see a carb powder and EAA combined.

Really challenging to make the majority of people happy with those formulas. For example, from an EAA perspective, I usually like at least 3.5g Leucine. But the carbs vary on if I’m strength training or doing cardio.

So you may see some products with, for example, 25g HBCD, and an EAA blend led with 3.5g Leucine. But what if I want to do an hour run? I may want 50-75g+ of carbs, but I don’t really need 2-3x the EAA’s.

Totally get what you mean, and having a combo product is convenient, but just tough for companies to make people happy with those products. Hence why I’m a proponent of separate products in this scenario.

Similar to hydration products. I might only want a relatively lower level of electrolytes while lifting, but if running and sweating a lot, I want to up the amount.

There's a good chance the upcoming CEL Intra will have a carb and carb free version. I'm considering doing 2 carb flavors and 2 carb free ones :)

^Unexpected candor
I laughed when I saw that too and was wondering did I miss another question that was asked or is this the simplest response to the original question possible. :)

Thanks for the Tag! My initial post went over one of my favorite combos from 2017, that included GlycoMyx. That’s a great white buffalo of mine. Man, I remember our strongest member in my unit would slam Pixie sticks during his workouts and I’ve done that(19/20) thinking I’d somehow deadlift 710 pounds. Yea, no.

Back to the topic at hand, I’m going to echo HBCD or HBCD/Carb10 blend. I’ve used Legday as of late, sparingly. It gives me a nice boost in mood with added endurance and no discomfort. I also purchased many of 5lb jugs of Carb10 with good results. I’m a sicko and do unflavored when it’s an option(Very unpopular opinion).

I'm leaning towards doing something like GlycoMyx that people have asked for and also a HBCD/Carb10 mix; and personally want to do a solo HBCD.

As long as you have your usual solid price points on them I am sure they will all do well for what they are intended for.

Honestly either one would work fine. I believe I’d go with HBCD only first, but if you decide to come out with a mix with Carb10 due to higher popularity and cost, would buy it also without thinking twice.

Yeah, I'm on the fence with this one because I think that the combination would sell better; but I'm a huge fan of HBCD myself and like the flexibility to dose it higher, but it is significantly more expensive.

As much as I love HBCD, the cost is often a bit much for me to stomach so I would be more likely to go for the more economical approach myself but I think many would jump on the solo HBCD option as well.

I would love a HBCD solo product. But being realistic, the carb10 + hbcd complex would be more cost effective for the customers and especially for you as well…
If that ends up as the final idea, I don’t think there’s any need to worry… lots of positive feedback from us for the complex as well. We’d all buy it lol

I’m not sure that the people most worried about the price/serving are going to like the price of a product that contains any HBCD. You just can’t get a ribeye for the price of a Big Mac.

Great point! I will be happy to split the difference and settle for a good quality Sirloin!!!

Any update on the Glycomyx product?
I've figured out the specs and what exactly we want to do and have sources for all of the raw materials.

I haven't decided on a name for it yet. Have to decide on a name, get the label done, and then get it into the production lineup.

I do need to go ahead and finalize this - just had so many different things going on at one time.

GlycoGain

Glyco Gen. (Get it!)

Then add whatever initials sns likes to add to the name.
Ha. That's pretty good and catchy haha.

I was trying to decide whether to play off of glycogen or if needed to be more direct with it to let people know by the name that it was a carb source.

I definitely plan on doing an HBCD product because I honestly can't find one to even use myself from a brand that I trust and that I like the taste of. There are some brands I trust that offer one, but they are either insanely marked up or I don't like the flavors of them.

The plan right now is to do an HBCD and also do the Glycomyx type product that people are asking for in this thread.

I really want to do a product like the original Cytomax too; its not a top priority at the moment, but I do want to do one.

I'll be waiting for the Cytomax like product. I still have some in my stash, but it won't last forever.

That must be nice haha. I've been out for a long time. This is one of those I have to be smart about it and resist the urge to rush that product just bc I want it so bad haha.

Since this thread is back to having some activity to it, I would like to ask a few questions.
  1. For an HBCD, if you could pick 2 flavors what would they be? (For me, they would be between Blue Raspberry Popsicle, Pink Grapefruit, Blackberry Mojito, Rocket Pop, and Tea flavors)
  2. For a carb blend with Purple Sweet Potato, Oat Powder, and Glucomannan - what ratios would you like to see? I personally don't care about the Glucomannan being in it; I'm not against it, I just don't care either way. But my thought would be 25 grams carbs per scoop and I would like a 50:50 split between the Sweet Potato and the Oats.

For flavors i really enjoy Cherry in my intra. Lately ive also found a Blackcurrant that taste awesome. But in general id say one sweet and one sour is probably the best bet.

I'd opt for something lightly fruit flavored, light enough so that when mixing with other flavored intras it wouldn't be overpowering or clashing. Because realistically I'll be mixing with some type of BCAA/EAA powder, which are usually flavored.

1) I want that pink grapefruit. Usually one flavor that’s a citrus or a little tart/sour and one flavor that’s more traditional sweet works well for me on rotation. I do usually purchase unflavored carb powders though.
2) 50:50 ratio.

Unflavored and Lemon-Lime, due to their ability to mix with all kinds of amino or preWO products.

An unflavored is also useful for the folks who throw it into protein shakes pre or post. I don’t do this, but there’s a solid reason unflavored exists.

Otherwise, the sky is the limit. I enjoy all of those flavors mentioned.

Thank you for the feedback from everyone so far.

I do like the idea of doing one sweet and one sour (and we do plan on doing an unflavored) - the only thing with trying to make a tart or sour flavor on the HBCD is I'm not sure how feasible that will be in this case since its a carb. My original thought was for the Blackberry Mojito flavor, to do a Blackberry Mojito sour or either a tart Lemon Lime. I'm just not sure if will be able to get it to taste right in this case. But going to try.
