Thankfully, her symptoms only consist of runny nose, congestion, mild cough and a little fatigue. No fever or any other trademark symptoms. I hardly believed she was sick at all honestly but she knew something wasn't right. She's taking 600mg NAC twice per day, >10g vitamin C per day, 5000iu vitamin D, multi, GutHealth, and starting tomorrow GTE and olive leaf extract. Anyone else take anything that helped their symptoms if they had it?

I'll likely be starting quercetin tomorrow and maybe the NAC. But for me since my BP runs a little high, I'm concerned about the bizarre thing NAC can do.
Is this for real or just FUD like a lot of mainstream beliefs about supplements? Any thoughts on any of this great appreciated. And if you're a praying man (or woman), we would greatly appreciate prayers for healing and safety in our family. Thanks.

Thanks gents. I can hear her coughing in the other room and it sounds worse. Ugh. Probably shouldn't be as scared as I am for her, but I am. I don't know.

I've ran NAC a lot. Have not noticed a BP issue, or any negative side effect for that matter. May your wife be made whole in the name of Jesus.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for her brother.

NAD precursors would be worth looking at (I’ve seen studies suggesting covid depletes it and this may play a part in long covid)

Well, with that proposed issue of nac, would we know if it's causing pulmonary hypertension or only when it's too late? I don't think the article was saying it raises regular blood pressure measurements.

Thank you for the prayers!

sorry about covid and hope she/you get well asap.
I would add black seed extract into the mix, and 600x2 NAC seems alittle low? seen they treated covid with around 4g directly in blood with no problem

Wow. That seems like a ton. I've also started her on quercetin, so we'll stick with the current regimen unless things go south.

Weirdest thing, I woke up at 3am shivering which turned into uncontrollable shaking and just felt like I needed to squirm, heart rate 110, and could smell/taste something terrible but couldn't identify it. After about an hour took a gram of vitamin C and within 30 minutes, the shivers/shaking stopped and I fell back asleep. That whole time my stomach made weird noises as well. As of now, I'm still lethargic and still can smell that weirdness. Otherwise heart rate down to 70's which is still a little high for me but no fever or shivers, no cough or congestion. I was convinced I was getting it by as the day goes on, less convinced though. I'm still getting a Covid test though just so I know.

First and foremost, will keep you and your wife in my prayers.

As for NAC, I think that study is honestly just a good example how in todays times we can find studies to say almost anything that people want them to. I wouldn't worry about it personally bc NAC has been so widely used by so many people.

For Curcumin, the most widely researched form of Curcumin for immune function has been Sabinsa's C3 Curcumin as far as I know; so that's the one I would go with in your situation. And then you could go for high dosing Quercetin or use a Quercetin phospholipid like Quercefit.

Covered a lot of good bases I’d say. I’d second the curcumin recommendations.

Really helps with some of the lingering effects (if she deals with them).

Good luck and best wishes.

Since NAC in clinical setting is used acutely short term I would exercise same prudence in my opinion. OTC supps I think are beneficial after alot of anecdotal testimonials are: intermittent fasting to (avoid signaling inflammatory pathways) with large dose vitamin D3, zinc 2x day, chaga, astragalus, mega dosed vitamin C ( but not ingested same time as zinc), 14-21day NAC. Ivormectin (OTC dewormer) therapy for 1month minimum has shown the most time sensitive turn around aside from anti/retrovirals administered concurrently with treatments. I am a RN in hospital and worked with many non delta and delta variant infected patients.the above regimen is what I also personally took along side turmeric in my black coffee daily when they were not supplying N95 masks originally .I had infected covid patients within 18 inches of my face and never got infected. I also always got minimum 7 hours of sleep and reduced workouts to 2x week to reduce immune strain and hydrated 180oz h20 daily. Avoided all processed and refined carbs too...lucky so far. But the above supplements are what families told me they also took and had quick turn around, regardless of comorbidities...my .02. Wisdom is knowledge plus experience. Here are pearls for you all.

I'd get in the room and catch it so you both can have natural immunity going forward. The 5 of us just had it for 12hrs-4 days depending on the individual. Of course the 3 kids literally had nothing. Adults a little fever was it. Of course no taste but that's nothing. Good luck.

20-50mg of Zinc daily, split into 2-3 doses between meals but not on empty stomach. Take your quercetin at this time. As mentioned, take the vitamin c at separate times with meals.

NAC I have been taking 600-1,200mg per day for many years now. Even at 240+lbs my resting bp is normal and healthy.

You could inject glutathione intramuscularly in a bigger dose like 400mg+ once a week or in smaller doses 3x a week (like 200mg) and bypass the NAC altogether if you preferred, but your going to have to use a research or veterinary grade source & many folks aren’t comfortable with injections.

I had a doctor prescribe me a 5 day course of Ivermectin after still having COVID fevers off & on for 13 days and it was totally gone by day 17 (day 3 of Ivermectin).

B3 (niacin) supplementation restores the depletion COVID causes that affects those with “long COVID” symptoms. 200mg a day for a while is a good idea while her body works through the virus.

Myfreedoctor is who I used to get the script legally prescribed over an app. Takes about a day from when you message them on the Medici app to actually get the consult & the script. They also gave me prednisone but I did not run that- remember you must advocate for yourself and be the steward of what you put in your body.

I already used curcumin daily.

B3 huh? I'm taking 1000mg a day of. Niacinimide (for precancerous skin issues). I also take curcumin, chlorella, fish oil, coq10, creatine, whey daily. I've been heavily exposed to Covid many times over the year, and as far as I know, haven't had it (only tested a few times, but always negative).

Some of y'all had it for only 12 hours? I'm kind of wondering if that's what happened to me last night. I should've mentioned I've been taking resveratrol at 600mg and whoever says it doesn't do anything orally is wrong; the energy is almost too much. Apparently resveratrol might be good for covid.

Edit: fixed link.

We take 80mg (niacinimide and nicotinic acid mix) in our multi daily. That should cover that since we take it long term, no?

Gotcha, any brand in particular?
C3 Curcumin by Sabinsa is the most researched type. There are several brands that offer it. If you go in a local store, look for any that are labeled C3 Curcumin and have the Sabinsa logo.

It's the type that we use in Joint Support XT and will be one of the forms featured in our Elite Curcumin product, but Elite Curcumin isn't out yet.

To be very clear, this is only to reduce/rectify fatigue & issues caused by having contracted COVID and struggling with lingering symptoms since it radically depleted normal levels of B3.

You don’t need to take it proactively and it will do nothing to help prevent contracting COVID or protect you from a severe reaction. It WILL help you get over feeling lousy and get back in/stay in the saddle.

We take 80mg (niacinimide and nicotinic acid mix) in our multi daily. That should cover that since we take it long term, no?
The human studies showed 2-300mg per day of nicotinic acid (flushing niacin) was sufficient to get people feeling well within a couple days. Less effective forms like niacinimide required higher doses. So I would get the bigger tabs of flush-free and take daily for a month or so (you guys could split a single cheap bottle) or buy a bottle of 100mg nicotinic acid tabs and add those on daily. B vitamins are water soluable so there’s not really much risk for folks adding them in excess.

Also, add 20mg of Bioperine when you take your Curcumin. Most supplements do not have enough black pepper extract added but studies have shown absorption is greatly improved with that dosage added. And caps are fairly cheap compared to how much Curcumin costs, so it’s a worthy investment to not just throw your money away on un-absorbed C3.

My reason for suggesting C3 in this particular case is that it is the type that has the most actual studies on it for inflammation and for immune support health; so in his situation, its the most suitable type from a researched standpoint. When dealing with serious situations, I always try to suggest what is the most studied and known bc it isn't the type of situation that really has much room for error. I hope that makes sense.

As for the reason for including that type in Joint Support XT, the reason is also because it is by far the most well researched type for joint support and anti-inflammatory benefits. And based on feedback on Joint Support XT, I definitely think we made the right choice.

I do like other forms of Curcumin and that's why Elite Curcumin will have 3 different clinically researched branded types in one product and will be a great choice for people that want a very advanced curcumin product.

When our house was all sick, we would do the curbside delivery from places like Walmart & Kroger. Order online, show up the next day at the appointed time, pop the trunk from inside the car when they come out, they close it after loading your goods and you never get out of the car.

I bet you could call a vitamin store and request the same if necessary.

Right on. Were doing that with Walmart. I did find a type of curcumin that will be here Thursday, but not sabinsa, still Life Extension though.

Side note, house lost power! Nothing worse than no power and quarantine lol

Thanks. It hasn't been mentioned but her cough has been so mild. Like maybe 1 or 2 little fits per day. She's going to give blood after isolating to see her antibodies for covid. Part of me thinks she had a false positive.
