Tell SNS What You Would Like to See From Us (2020 Edition)

How about L-Baiba extract? It's supposed to be an "exercise in a pill" so a quality extract in a high enough dose would be awesome to have.

@sns8778

whatever happened to TTA? it used to be popular then just suddenly disappeared?
If I'm not mistaken the rumor was pressure from the pharmaceutical companies who were also looking into TTA. That might also mean it could very well be a noncompliant ingredient. I'm not really familiar enough though.

From Steve previously:

“Ha. This is awkward for me to explain the TTA situation because this thread started asking specifically about TTA-500 and then other companies products got mentioned in the thread. I have a policy of never saying anything negative about anyone else's products but it makes it really hard to answer the question without coming off like I may be putting anyone else's product(s) down. So, for the sake of this reply lets pretend no one else's products got mentioned in the thread bc my intention is only to answer the question.

TTA is and always has been a raw material that was hard to source because there were only a couple of factories that made quality TTA raw materials. Note that I didn't say just say raw materials, I said quality raw materials. There were a lot of suppliers that offered it on their product lists, but there were only a couple places that actually made it. For the same reason, the price was extremely volatile. I've seen the price per kg. go up and down to the degree that it would cost us more to make it at times than we were selling it for at others. That was one of the reasons that most companies stopped making it long ago and also why I think some looked to blame it possibly being 'banned' bc it created a good sales run to help them sell out of inventory. If there were truly ever any mention of it being 'banned' we never heard anything about it and neither did the industry attorney we consulted on it back at the time that rumor was going around. We couldn't just change our price dramatically up and down all the time because of that so we always would go through periods of being out of stock because quality raw materials weren't available at a good price. I suppose some companies would have just permanently increased their prices and took advantage of the extra margins when the prices came down but thats not us.

Note: What I'm saying about the quality is a big reason over the years that some companies and bulk suppliers would post COA's from the supplier company (worthless because of course they weren't going to tell the truth if their product didn't contain a high enough purity level) or even independent results that tested for the PRESENCE of TTA but not the percentage of purity.

Back to present day. The main factory that made TTA was closed down by the Chinese government about a year ago for pollution laws because China is really cracking down on environmental pollution. This had nothing to do with TTA itself but it eliminated the only high quality manufacturer of TTA that I'm aware of as the other one had closed down the year prior. Since then, we have tested several suppliers TTA materials and haven't found any that tested above 92% purity.

A lot of companies may would have taken the approach of 'well, if that's the best we can get....' but that's not the way we do things.

TTA is a very difficult ingredient for manufacturing facilities to produce. We have been in consistent contact with several facilities that are trying to produce TTA to a purity level that is high enough to be acceptable for us. One of the places we are working with is supposed to be doing a run in March if their test run turns out good.

So basically, TTA-500 is not discontinued but we have not been able to find quality raw materials that were up to our standards so its been out of stock for a long time.

Sorry for writing you guys a book but I wanted to give a thorough explanation.”

Baiba is an ingredient I havent heard of in a long long time.

It has had a major resurgence the last 6 months. Glaxon, alpha lion, iconic are all using it. I really enjoy it

That's good to hear. It was an ingredient that piqued my interest some time ago, so it's good to see people using it again

Its always been very hard to source with reliable quality... just a pain in the butt more than anything. Personally I love it but yeah, just rare

Same here I just ordered the twin pack. I seen it stacks well with Metabolic Xtreme in the description, what is Metabolic Xtreme?

I was thinking it would be 50mg but was pleasantly surprised when I saw 100mg per cap. I got the twin-pack as well. I might run this at 400mg/day and see how it goes.

It might be something you need to keep an eye out for at some stage

If I'm not mistaken the rumor was pressure from the pharmaceutical companies who were also looking into TTA. That might also mean it could very well be a noncompliant ingredient. I'm not really familiar enough though.

That was an untrue rumor started by another company. What really happened is around the time they stated that, the raw material price for TTA went up by over 50% so they were just giving a reason for them stopping using it. There were never any gov't letters or anything like that on TTA.

Any idea if powermyself in the uk will be picking up Paradoxine?

Unfortunately, no idea. They sometimes aren't very responsive to wanting to bring in new single ingredient items. They normally say that single ingredients don't sell well, etc. But then from our end, we always get asked when they will bring things in or why they don't. I really wish they would stock more of the products to give them a chance, even if they just ordered in small quantities.

I would encourage anyone that wants them to to please ask them. The more inquiries they get, the more likely they will be to bring it in.

Good eye haha.

I can't give any details on that one yet, but if all goes well I'd say to keep your eyes open for it in possibly January.

Good catch on the Paradoxine everyone. I'll get the intro thread up on it in the next couple days. I'm traveling at the moment and the product went live for sale before I realized it would haha.

TBD haha... theres always a nugget in the descriptions of the newer products it seems!

Haha, so many new products seem to be announced rather subtly on the packaging.

I’ve posted this before, but I wonder if Apigenin is best utilized as a standardized percentage of a different herb, such as chamomile (ie 600mg chamomile standardized for 1.2% Apigenin). Flavonoids can have low bioavailability, so I wonder if consuming it in its natural form as much as possible would be more beneficial. Maybe that in tandem with AstraGin or something of the sorts.

“Although flavonoids have shown countless health benefits, their low bioavailability has been a concern. Phase 2 metabolism is known to affect the bioavailability of flavonoids in humans [12]. Usually, most flavonoids undergo sulfation, methylation and glucuronidation in the small intestine and liver [13] and conjugated metabolites can be found in plasma after flavonoid ingestion [14]. In general, metabolites of flavonoids show reduced bioactivity in comparison to parent compounds but there have been results that reported otherwise as well [15].” Invalid Link Removed

Kemin also manufactures FloraGlo Lutein and ZeaONE Zeaxanthin. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are commonly utilized for vision health, but also have some research supporting cognition. You’re the expert in sourcing, but a capsule formula of the below would be great for cognition and vision health (and I would assume you could capture some supply chain efficiencies by sourcing all three from one supplier - if the price is right):

900mg Neumentix
10mg Lutein
2mg Zeaxanthin

This study used 10mg Lutein and 2mg Zeaxanthin: Invalid Link Removed

Just throwing some ideas out.

@Jiigzz this was my pitch for a nootropic/eye health product.

It's hard to sell more of something you don't stock. Story of my life right now, lol.

Focus XT has a nice dose of Lutein :)

It sure does. Steve and I discussed Lutein a bit when he was developing a new formula for Focus XT and I believe it takes it to a whole new level. Benefits for eye health and cognition.

I always have lutein and zeaxanthin on hand, but I think we can take it up a notch. The problem is this type of supplement isn't necessarily one you 'feel'.

I like it. I haven't heard of Neumentix before. This seems like it could be a great addition to a focus supplement as well.

I think Swanson may be the only to put it in a solo capsule product. Could potentially be a solid choice for a capsule nootropic product since the dosage is 900mg. Bit more info below:

We had a thread last year that produced a lot of suggestions. Some we were already able to offer and some are in various stages of production.

I wanted to start a fresh thread to get some ideas to see what people would like to see from SNS and Competitive Edge Labs in 2020.

Feel free to suggest single ingredient and/or combination ideas.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing everyone's ideas.

im about to place a large order for BAIBA but want to make sure SNS isn’t about to release a product soon. You guys seem to have more acceptable dose-to-price points in comparison to others. For me, 500mg twice daily is the sweet spot.

Apigenin 300mg
BioPerine 10mg

Per capsule.

I've thought about an Apigenin before but not sure if there is enough demand for one solo or not. I'm open to it if enough people want it.

I'm still here wanting a top tier eye health supplement

I have a tentative formula for it. It's been awhile since I've looked at it so I need to look at it again and possibly update it. I definitely want to do it, we just have so many new things lined up and the Covid situation just put everything behind.

The eye health product is one that I definitely want to do; but it isn't traditionally a strong selling category so we just have to time it right to make sense. It's one I want to do to really help people, but I don't expect it to sell that great no matter how good of a product it is. Which is something I've never understood - that category of supplements having such weak sales bc eye health is something I would consider so important.

Thanks for asking. We don't have any immediate plans of making one and haven't really been asked to. It's something I would definitely be open to if enough people were interested. If so, let me know what dosage would like to see and any particular standardization.

L stereoisomer BAIBA appears to be the most beneficial for fat loss. This is available as “MitoBurn” from some company. I’ve found 500mg twice daily is the most effective doses. 1g BID is crazy thermogenic but not really cost effective. Things that appear to synergize with it include 6-paradol and EGCG.

Plans for SNS/CEL Black Friday sales?

Yes, we will be offering some. I'll do my best to get them started and posted later on tonight.

Thank you for the information. I'll definitely look into this.

We've had a couple of people ask for this before but I don't think anyone has asked us for the branded ingredient version.

I’d also be interested. Especially with the potential with synergy with Parodoxine

Do you think that the branded ingredient version is necessarily better than the non?

Do you think that the branded ingredient version is necessarily better than the non?

From my limited research, if you went non branded, I think you’d want to confirm L-isomer (as opposed to D-isomer, I believe). That’s my initial understanding, but I mainly looked at the Mitoburn suppliers (NNB) website.

Is this one of those solo ingredients with a huge cost discrepancy between branded and non-branded (such as Pycnogenol vs Pine Bark extract)?
