Kinda boring packaging. Needs more holographics and dragons.
Does a fancier label sell more products ? Damn right it does ask cellucor but i think it’s still a nice label that catches the eye on a shelf

What I find amazing is how the servings per 4lb tub has gone down so much, this size tub of pure whey from companies
use to have at least 65ser now 49 ser :( it's no wonder this protein is always buy one get one free over at M&S and even
$25 a tub is still a bit steep for a pure whey concentrate.
I have been in the grocery industry since 1999. This is called shrinkflation. Two main reasons: 1. Consumers, not always but most of the time, have a price point they simply will not go above. Great example is yogurt. Who here will pay 1.89 for a single serving of yogurt? Not many. That is why yogurt is almost always less than 1.00ea and is also why it has gone from 8oz to 6oz to 5oz to 4oz in some cases over the last 20 years.

2. The consumer price index is based on a "cart or basket" containing commonly purchased "essential" foods such as loaf of bread, container of yogurt, bag of chips and so on. By artificially keeping the price per container low by shrinking the package they have juked the stats on inflation for years.

In a way we all are responsible for this as we have told producers that the number one thing, and only thing for some, we care about it price.

I just noticed this the other day. Quest used to be $25-27.00 for a 2lb of protein. Now they are $27-29.00 for a 1.6 lb tub?! WTF. I "re-ordered" a staple from amazon but I guess the officially made the switch down to the 1.6lbs. When I got the box I was like wait wtf did I order and when I opened it ws like a mini bottle lol. I guess the industry is moving away from 2lb and 5lbers and heading toward 1.5 and 3lber options?

Careful on the tub size. I have tubs from brands as well as my own brand as low as 1.6lbs that have the same amount of protein and servings as a generic 2lb tub. Tub size doesn't always dictate serving size unless of course you compare 2lb to 5lb, then that's another story.

Many lower quality proteins scoop = 37-38gms of powder. Compared to a higher quality protein powder of 29 to 30 gms. So a smaller tub is used for the higher quality brand for the same amount of servings as the **** brand that needs 2lbs+ tub.

Man It’s been forever since I’ve posted! Damn my picture is hilarious.. I’ll have to update it tonight.

But I definitely had to post for Blate Papes. These things are god-sent for people like me (who buy bulk powders to avoid all the artificial stuff). I had been parachuting with TOILET PAPER for years until these. I know they’re popular with Kratom users already

Apple cinnamon PB outright bars
I'm skeptical about these after eagerly buying the Pumpkin Pie bars. Tasted like they just took a plain peanut butter Outright bar and sprinkled pumpkin spice on it. I have a feeling these will just be peanut butter Outright bars with cinnamon sprinkled on lol.

I was a little disappointed also. Still better than most bars out there but had higher hopes for this one.

Interesting concept. I know some bulk powders people will avoid because of taste (Cissus, Na-R-ALA) so this circumvents the issue

Yeah they were just released in July, but the idea is from Japan. Kratom users call them "oblate" papers or discs. I live in Orlando where these are from and ended up meeting one of the co-founders at my gym. Dude has a car wrap with advertisements for them all over it. He said they we're going to be at Europa but since it was cancelled they haven't confirmed the next show.

Yeah bro so many bulk powders taste like a**. Most pre-workout ingredients I use, especially agmatine, betaine and beta. I only buy bulk powder though. The savings is incredible the only thing is that you want to have good tubs to make scooping quick and easy. Pre-workout is the easiest to use though. I just put a few hundred grams of citrulline malate, beta, betaine, agmatine, and taurine in a blender and then add a few pieces of rice so it doesn't cake up. That's an instant 2lb tub of pre-workout powder with no fillers or sweeteners for under $75. And if I am cycling with creatine or stimulants I just add them to each dose.

sounds good...i'm old school and remember when a lot of supplements tasted awful but the effects were worth it. today lots of those ingredients are banned so companies just compete for taste.

Funny you say that, I agree. But I had a real hard time with artificial sweeteners in college because of all the supplements I was using. I actually think they're the main cause of the anxiety I used to have. Since I stopped them and most other fillers I've been much, much better off.

I feel like that is nostalgic view of past products. There is a lot of money in supplements and as it has grown it makes sense that prioritizing flavor and just the ability to do that has improved. I think outside of the banning of drugs/hormones (not really supplements IMO, not saying they shouldn't be available though) and maybe a few stimulants there really hasn't been much effective that has really been banned. Current products seem overall much better than the past, there just also is a ton more to sift through to find them.

This is why I buy Aldi's plain yogurt 32oz for $1.99 and that works out to .50 for 8oz and I add 1 scoop of
delicious tasting protein, handful of a fiber cereal, and some nuts and I have a tasty meal. :)

there are products out there that have good profiles, but you could buy bulk and make much better, imo....people have become convenience based and the tendency has become to buy products based on how they taste...i have nothing against products tasting good, just pointing out that this is a departure from past days when old school guys like me were more than willing to sacrifice taste for effectiveness....for example this thread is basically a taste thread, imo.

JP8X was an amazing PW though as you mentioned it tasted bad but that's because Chuck used
natural flavoring but once he decided to use artificial flavor the taste became much more tolerable.

yes, i was talking about the original...can't tell you how many times i heard guys complaining about the taste but they kept using it because of how well it worked. i can't even remember the other product that chuck discontinued but it was amazing but i think didn't sell well because today people are all about taste...

lg sciences had one that i think was called anadraulic state that tasted gritty as hell but had great results, it bit the dust because it couldn't compete taste wise.

Thanks for this review. I had basically written this brand off, but I know our energy drink taste preferences are close enough that if you love it then I will definitely enjoy it!

This is a great brand, for anyone on the fence. Their stuff is both better AND generally cheaper I find than the premium brands at most groceries.

I kind of came in at the end of that era...definitely understand what you mean - expectations for flavoring have raised by leaps and bounds, in line with modern flavoring technology.

I remember gagging down preWO drinks thinking to myself, “Just drink it - it will make you strong!”
