I am 48 years old on TrT. I have lifted my whole life and hit my 40's and kept my strength but also started gaining weight and not the good kind. I am about 5'8 and I was at 207 lbs a month ago and I am down to 185 and trying to get to 175 so I can get shredded and then I would like to put on 5 lbs of muscle and stay around 180. I am downy strict Keto now with high protein but I can't do that forever. Would like suggestions on what diet I could flip to once I hit my goal weight so I don't balloon up again.
Thank you.View attachment 196169 now compared to a month ago

Definitely nice progress. It gets a lot harder to make that kind of progress as you get older.

I enjoy intermittent fasting. And fasting for a full day a week. Really hate keto, I need a small amount of carbs or I fall apart with the self control and binge a heavy carb day. Congratulations on sticking with it and making changes. I was at 210 5’10” and similar to you. At 41 the weight started to stack on and it’s harder to loose while keeping the muscle

Same here! I need some small amount of carbs or I can't function well throughout the day.

My biggest fear is that when I get to my goal weight and I have to switch from keto over to something. I'm thinking I could just go on a high protein diet. Macros like 70% protein 15% carbs and 15% fat any advice?

I think that's definitely a good starting point coming off of keto. Personally I need a little more carbs than 15% but that's just me.

Got a question for you, my TRT Doc is prescribing me Metformin. Hoping it can help with diet. Any thoughts?

I don't have a ton of experience with Metformin but I know it lowers blood sugar levels and typically used by people with diabetes. A quick search online and it seems it may supress appetite and change the way your body uses and stores fat.
