The social distancing and masks and lock downs just need to be flushed down the toilet. That stuff is over now.
This certainly propelled things that way. I do see it becoming more acceptable to not wear a mask very soon, or be by choice. Except in healthcare institutions of course.

Effective tomorrow, our governor said that people won’t have to wear masks if they have a medical reason that permits them from doing so. It’s an honor system as well, so I see them fading out fairly quickly.

Exactly, it’s just an excuse for people to show their true selves. Our nation is full of violence, hatred, and greed. People today across my state of Maine joined the prostests, bunch of posers who apparently had nothing better to do aside from harass a police department that had nothing to do with it. I guess they decided to follow suit after seeing everything on the media.

Justice has, and will continue to be served in what happened Memorial Day. It could have been dealt with more privately, or at least not shown to the nation where it had potential to cause problems. Not that anyone could have predicted all this bullshyt!
I saw an organised protest, forget where, everyone was lying down with their hands behind their backs collectively chanting "I cant breath" or something to that effect.

I think that sends a much more powerful emotional message than rioting, which only serves to antagonise and alienate.

Yeah, I think that’s part of the routine at all the protests. It’s certainly better than the chaos we are seeing during the riots..

There is another conspiracy theory behind these riots as well. The government is not sure if there is another party involved in motivating them. China was mentioned.

As terrible as people are, there does seem to be something else behind all this- aside from ANTIFA.

That's because you're in CT, like me. It is a state requirement. Even when gyms open up on the 20th, masks will be required which is hard to believe. It's difficult to breathe with them on. I can't imagining working out with them.

I’m very curious to see what happens with covid cases after all these riots and “protests.” Will cases skyrocket?

I have a similar concern, but was seeing most people wearing masks.
We'll find out soon enough however. I hope not. Worst way to test masks ever.

I thought the whole point of the covid was to release it into these crowds of rioting and thin them out after a couple weeks. Guess we will see the results shortly.

The breathing restriction from wearing a mask in the gym gives me an excuse to not do cardio. It’s a blessing in disguise.

He put alot of free programs in place for African Americans, Trump came in and put limits or ended them after alot of them being on for 8 years. Obama set them up for failure by taking care of them without any motivation to better themselves.

Are you saying his policies were, I'm, vanilla?

It's looking more and more like Trump will be in for another 4 years.

I am sending an ambulance to @justhere4comm's house now...I know he just had an aneurism.

Huh? How did this turn to Obama?

Current Potus had (through AG Barr) Americans Gassed and shot with rubber bullets so he could have a photo op. with a bible that he held upside down btw, in front of a church, where he received criticism by the clergy that was also gassed with tear gas, not smoke bombs, and the Biship of that church.

I could write a dissertation on what this bunkerboi has done to harm American and Americans for his personal gain.
(Covid-19) Trump knew from various trusted sources of the seriousness in January. He golfed. A lot.
Please, continue to talk Obama to distract from this epic coward and fat failure in office now that has 'united' racists.

It's going to be a landslide of blue votes taking the Senate; keeping The House; and taking the Potus.
No ambulance needed here, but I'll take some O2. This mask is killing me slowly.

Wait, wasn't he a xenophobe back in January? So, Biden and Pelosi get a pass for resisting action?

Could he do better, yes. Sure. But it isn't like it was a big uprising saying he should be taking action. No one was prepared.

All presidents can be second guessed but Trump has done a good job considering what he has faced. First 3 years he was excellent. Again I will vote for the best candidate but clearly Biden is not an option for anyone.

I have voted for Obama and Trump, and I am open to a better option as we should always deserve better from our voters in offices. But honestly Biden, no way anyone can vote for Biden. The problem people vote against Trump not for Biden. Ask your party elected officials to put someone in place that you would actually want. Hate all you want but can't compare where Biden currently is in his life. Maybe 10 years ago.

Which one?

The one where he loves Vermont, because it's such a great town? (He must have learned geography from Obama and doesn't realize there are 50 states).

Or how about the one where he talks about how America has never been shut down by a pandemic...from the Civil War to 16 all the way around to 17....whatever he meant by that. Not to mention that sounds a lot like a plea to avoid social distancing.

Or the "you ain't black" speech?

I thought we have just spent almost an entire term getting upset with Trump because "he says stupid things".

Literally everything they accuse Trump of, Biden actually does and embodies.

If you actually have ANY reason NOT to vote for Trump, you have to admit Biden shouldn't get your vote for the same reason.

Oh, wait, I forgot. The demo accused Trump of withholding funds from Ukraine to get what he wants. Biden is on tape bragging about doing the same thing. If Biden gets in, he has to be impeached under the same standard Trump was.

And that is probably the plan with the whole Weekend at Biden's campaign. Get his body across the finish line, impeach him and slide a prechosen VP into his place.

How about the "narcissistic" grandiose statements Trump makes? You know like when he said to someone, "I think I probably have a much higher OQ than you do." And went on to claim he finished near the top of his law class?

Oh, wait, that was Biden.

And he also finished near the bottom of his math class since he finished 76 out of a class of 85.

New joke, "what do you call someone who finished in the bottom 15% of their law class? Senator."

If you really believe the issues you have with Trump are issues...I am just curious how you can support this guy.

We haven't even started on his racist past, or the fact that his assault accuser actually has evidence, which exceeds the standard set by the democrats.

The reasons for not voting for Trump also apply to Biden.

This is humor, right?
This nonsense probably secures Trump 4 more years.
I don't know, I think it's costing him. Lots of people who may have been on the fence, ESPECIALLY minorities, probably don't like his seemingly wanton, gung ho approach to handling protests and riots. People who are going to vote for him because of how he's handling this very likely were already going to, so I can only see this costing him votes at the end of the day.
Economy, every aspect of it. Also love his one liners, tells it like it is. No babying people, speaks how most of us do. Just does it in front of the world, not the smartest sometimes.
I also like someone who speaks their mind, in theory, but in practice, there are times when you just shouldn't say things, or should sort of filter what you say to the situation and audience you are speaking to. College freshman learn this; the President of the United States should be able to figure it out.

Anyway, back to the topic of gyms, I just moved to an apartment with a dedicated gym room, and the doorway pull-up bar I have doesn't fit ANY of the doors in the apartment! They all either have a low ceiling on one end that prevents the back side of the bar from resting on top of the door frame, or are too wide for the actual bar to rest on.

So I'm thinking of buying a pull-up station/tower. I considered making one out of 4x4s and steel pipe, but that'd still run me I think between $125 and $150, plus time and effort (and having to paint it too).

Having the ability to do dips would be great too, but it'd have to be solid for dips, as I like doing weighted dips, often with 90+ pounds.

I see this in-stock from Walmart, and it says it has a 440-lb capacity, but there's like no reviews on it. Amazon had I think 5 reviews for it and they were good, but a similar looking one from Walmart got not good reviews, and I don't want to spend $200 on something that isn't pretty damn sturdy.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/BalanceFrom-Power-Tower-with-Push-up-Pull-up-and-Workout-Dip-Station-for-Home-Gym-Strength-Training/826264121

Any recommendations for $250 or under for a pull-up and dip station? I think my options are either one like that, or just a squat rack that has a straight pull-up bar on top of it, which should, in theory, be fairly cheap for something fairly sturdy, but I know stock of a lot of things are VERY limited at the moment.

Oh, and I also have TRX-style bands that I'd like to be able to attach to the pull-up bar to do things like rows, triceps extensions, rear delts, etc., so it should be sturdy in other planes besides just the vertical plane you'd expect from doing pull-ups.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Edit: I'm less worried about the one I linked from Walmart now. The one that I thought looked similar (that got bad reviews) actually looks like the metal is a lot thinner, and it's listed at only 13.2 pounds to the sturdier-looking one's 72 pounds.
